Vandalism?
Hispanic is not a race, see the articles Hispanic and Latino Americans, Hispanic, Latino, Mexican American, and Latin Americans for more info. The Pasadena, California article hinted that Hispanic was a race. You know what? When I see misinformation on this website, I actually like to fix it. What you are doing my undoing my edits is keeping false information alive in Wikipedia.--76.95.192.150 (talk) 01:53, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, I think you are a bit confused on what the article was trying to say. It wasn't trying to say that "Hispanic" is a race, but rather an ethnicity (see Race and ethnicity in the United States Census). Thus, some people can list that they are white and Hispanic, Black and Hispanic, Native American and Hispanic, etc. and the total number might be over 100%. Adding a statement like "Hispanic/Lationo isn't a race" isn't relevant and doesn't help clarify the issue. Feel free to discuss this on Pasadena's talk page. 86.189.5.55 act of vandalism on 'Pierre Lewis' page
Hi BurtAlert, 86.189.5.55 has made a damaging act of vandalism on the 'Pierre Lewis' page. I have reverted it back, but they are consistently making damages with diffrent ip addresses. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Colonelmusic (talk • contribs) 15:45, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hello! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It looks like you fixed most of it, but I also deleted some irrelevant name that the IP had added. I also warned him about vandalism and will report him to the administrators if he continues. BurtAlert (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
what do th administrator do after that? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:25, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Austria
There are completely valid reasons as to my edits on Austria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ingyaningya (talk • contribs) 01:40, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I am afraid that the Holocaust was very real. I will continue to revert your edits. You can share your opinions on the talk page of the Austria article if you like. Also, be sure to sign your messages on talk pages with "~~~~". Thanks. BurtAlert (talk) 01:46, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
re: Hello
Thanks for the greets. I really need to be using a different browser than Explorer, so I can use Twinkle! My user name references 78rpm records, my main interest. Unfortunatly that user name was already taken, so I chose the exact speed as standardized in the United States in the late 1920s. I realized later that this might appear as an IP address, but don't really want to change my neme for the second time in a year. 78.26 (talk) 04:22, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here is your mid-drive newsletter.
So far, 79 people have signed up for this drive. Of these, 64 have participated. Interest is high due to a link to our event from the Watchlist page, and many new and first-time copy editors have joined us for the drive. If you signed up for the drive but haven't participated yet, it's not too late! Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you haven't signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now. Many thanks to those editors who have been helping out at the Requests page. We have assisted in the promotion of seven articles to Good article status so far this month.
We have already achieved our target of reducing the overall backlog by 10%; however, we have more work to do with the 2009 backlog. We have almost eliminated May 2009 and we only have some 700 articles left from 2009. It is excellent progress, so let's concentrate our fire power on the remaining months from 2009. Thank you for participating in the March 2011 drive. We anticipate it will be another big success!
The UtahraptorTalk to me has decided to step down from his position as project coordinator due to real-life issues. Your drive coordinators – S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk) and Tea with toast (Talk) |

Re: Tsunami
NO DISASSEMBLE! :( I'm poking around looking for how to request an IP ban...the same miscreant just edited the injured/dead templates multiple times to list disassembled people. Sorry if I didn't attribute you correctly in my cropped photo, it's my first upload! Feel free to edit the attribution and licensing information to correctly attribute yourself for the original. –flodded ☃ (gripe) 00:41, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- No worries, I didn't take the photo. Congrats on the upload! Did you do it directly to Commons or just to the English Wikipedia BurtAlert (talk) 00:44, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, just to the English Wikipedia, guess it should've gone to the Commons. Not much of a congratulations considering I've been working with software and such for most of my life and can't even figure that out... :) I did request an IP block ban for that evil disassembler on WP:ANI which is apparently where to do it. –flodded ☃ (gripe) 00:54, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah that seems like the best place for it, I just added a bit to your report. BurtAlert (talk) 01:03, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Abcmonster and RicBoom
What Do You mean sound familiar and who is abc monster he probaly goes to my school cuz we have the same ip address becuse this is my school computerRicBoom (talk) 04:59, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not saying that you two are the same person, but denying it vehemently, and providing information about the user you aren't that we don't have access to, tends to lead us to the conclusion that you and Abcmonster are the same person, Ric. Sorry to return-stalk, Burt. Cheers. lifebaka++ 17:11, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- What Lifebaka said. And no worries about the stalking :) BurtAlert (talk) 20:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
what and pretty self explainitory i was blocked before when ive never tryed to make a account and i saw th things he said on his talk page and i wouldnt say that im more matureRicBoom (talk) 22:06, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi RicBoom, I'm a little confused by what you are trying to say. You (RicBoom) have never been blocked on Wikipedia unless you are talking about you (Abcmonster) and, therefore, contradicting yourself. Like Likebaka was saying, we do not have access to your IP address so it raises suspicion when you deny it on other people's talk page. I am very sorry if I am wrong. WHY NOT?
Who are you?
Why can't I remove other peoples posts, THAT ARE WRONG? People should NOT be allowed to push a political agenda or tell lies on Wikipedia
- See the talk page guidelines on editing others' comments. Although a talk page is only for discussing how to improve an article, people often use it to discuss the topic. They aren't supposed to, but as long as they aren't making personal attacks, vandalizing, or simply trolling it's not a big deal. It is not polite, however, to remove people's comments that don't violate policy. I am a Wikipedian by the way. BurtAlert (talk) 21:22, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Deletion of my page
Thanks so much for the response! So I understand the promotional tone and I will clean that up, that was my mistake. Also I wasn't aware that Amazon could not be used a reference, but I get that and will remove that as well. I am still unsure what the copyright infringement issue is. If I make the changes that I listed above is that will the page be alright for posting? Or are there other things preventing it form being posted? Sorry to bother, I am a rookie when it comes to creating a new wiki page and any help is much appreciated! Thanks! J-remy296 (talk) 22:25, 23 March 2011 (UTC)J-remy296
- No problem! I'm not really sure about the copyright infringement, as I am not an administrator and did not do the actual deleting, but as a general rule do not copy and paste from websites. You may also be interested in WP:FIRST, WP:CITE, and WP:MOS. BurtAlert (talk) 22:33, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Memorial
I changed it to ironic because it is the definition of irony to dedicate a memorial to people who were killed by UPA from a region where no-one died from the UPA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.181.24.221 (talk) 08:25, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
If you do not agree then i wont change it back again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.181.24.221 (talk) 08:29, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hello. The reason I changed it was because I thought you were trying to be clever. "Controversially" has a more neutral tone, but I honestly know nothing about the event. If I were you, I would leave a note on the article's talk page. Thanks for taking the time to explain your reasoning. BurtAlert (talk) 17:22, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
Jon Shanks
Hello, Can you please remove Jon Shanks. thank you Jonnykins1 (talk) 03:55, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- I noticed that you blanked the page, so I tagged it for speedy deletion under G7. I am not an administrator, so I can not delete articles, but an admin should be by shortly to delete it. BurtAlert (talk) 04:03, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
thankyou, also can i get rid of my account? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:07, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, I actually don't have much experience with that. I'd look over WP: LEAVE, but since you have so few edits you might as well just not log in again if you don't want to use Wikipedia anymore. BurtAlert (talk) 04:11, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
yeah all those edits were to do with trying to get rid of that page. ohh and by the way it went :) Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:12, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Out of curiosity, why did you decide you wanted it deleted? BurtAlert (talk) 04:16, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
cause i was only experimenting to see what happens. i created it, and i didnt want it there. so would i be able to contact wikipedia somehow to get rid of my account? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:18, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I honestly don't know much about account deletion. Like I said before, you could just never use it again. If you want to keep using Wikipedia, however, no one is going to hold your early experiments against you. If you want to play around with Wikipedia some more, try out the sandbox. BurtAlert (talk) 04:21, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
would you have a clue if anyone could help me? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:23, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nah man, sorry. BurtAlert (talk) 04:26, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
would i be able to contact an administrator? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:27, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- You could try, but it's honestly not a big deal. Just don't use your account anymore and you'll be ok. BurtAlert (talk) 04:29, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
do you have an administrators name i could use? and if not than yeah i wont use it Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:33, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Take your pick Category:Wikipedia administrators:) BurtAlert (talk) 04:36, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
who is the nicest? Jonnykins1 (talk) 04:41, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- All admins are supposed to be nice, so... Anyways, to answer your question about account deletion, it is not possible. The software does not allow for it. You're free to simply stop editing at any time, but no one can delete your account. Cheers. lifebaka++ 03:49, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Jokes
Two money jokes- Can I borrow that book of yours How To Become A Millionaire? Sure. Here you are. Thanks - but half the pages are missing. What's the matter? Isn't half a million enough for you?
