Glen Drover

What is your source for him leaving Megadeth, i don't see it anywhere.--E tac (talk) 01:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

It is just a rumor right now, not a fact.--E tac (talk) 01:21, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah it says, "Although MEGADETH has yet to confirm Glen's departure via its official web site, numerous postings on various message boards (including MEGADETH's official forum, where such messages are regularly deleted) have suggested that Drover has left the band in order to focus on family life." So far nothing has happened and it is just rumors, when there is an official announcement made then the article can be changed.--E tac (talk) 01:24, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I;d suggest writing something in the article that it is reported that they are going to make an annoucement reguarding the guitar player. Until they do that he is still a member.--E tac (talk) 01:27, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I am not saying you are wrong, just that nothing has been made official yet. I am sure Dave will find a more than capable replacement if it is true.--E tac (talk) 01:32, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

AIC

I think you're misunderstanding the point the user is bringing up.

Alice in Chains has been closely associated with grunge music
The band became popular in the 1990s grunge scene
The band was one of the most successful bands from the Seattle grunge music scene,

From the lead. M3tal H3ad (talk) 02:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

He thinks you focus too much of the article on albums such as guest appearances and stuff rather than information pertaining to the actual band. M3tal H3ad (talk) 04:18, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Slipknot

I still eventually want to get it up to FA article status, recent there has been a Slipknot WikiProject started and we are just trying to get it rolling so we can begin to set tasks and focus on different articles. Maybe you would like to join? WP:SLIP. Rezter TALK 06:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I have come here to invite you as well. ThundermasterTRUC 13:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

No Image for Cavalera Conspiracy

Hey, the band has its own website now. They have a group picture on their Myspace and their official website. I was wondering if you knew how to put images on Wikipedia, cuz I don't. Can you help me put one here for the article? Here are some links to help get you started:

How do you ask permission from flickr, then? Email? I'll get the image myself. I created the page for that band, so it's kind of personal. I'm just a little embarrased that I've been a part of Wikipedia for so long and I've never figured out how to upload an image. Dark Executioner (talk) 19:05, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner

Thanks, I'll be sure to ask him for assistance. You take care too. Dark Executioner (talk) 19:13, 12 January 2008 (UTC)Dark Executioner

I have  Done what you wanted there! I hope it satisfies the GA for you! Thanks for the praise! I guess you could say that we're pretty experienced with getting articles promoted, knowing what needs to be done, but it's still always nice to have someone say it. --rm 'w avu 02:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

A little help

Hi I saw that you commented on the guitar hero 3 discussion board. I just would like to know if it is not a problem to give the cheats for guitar hero 3 on ps2. I just got the game yesterday. My parents blocked me from every gaming site and i cant get cheats. Can you please respond on my talk? Thank you. Neon6419 (talk) 04:13, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

AIC

Dude, look I really think you did a great job with AIC, its just that I think you missed a vital source of information in magazine articles. The prose and everything is actually fixable. As for "knowing" so much, I have seen how FAC discussions go and what articles, especially music articles, are supposed to contain. Just because I don't have much editing experience (I intend to rectify that), I do know how to give peer review. Its like how film/music critics do their job despite never having actually created music/movies.

And as for Geocities/Stargate being unreliable, all I'm asking you to do is search for magazine articles reprinted over there. What difference does it make whether you actually read the paper magazine or just an uploaded (but copyvio) article on the net. In the end, you will be citing the magazine article (magazine name, author name, title of article, date of publication) itself, NOT geocities/stargate. indopug (talk) 07:35, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure all of your issues there are done. =) --rm 'w avu 08:25, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Opeth

Hey man, what's up?! i just wanted to tell you GREAT job on Opeth's article... couldnt be any better!! i followed you from the start and it was all nice work!! keep it up man :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 13:27, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Yea I'll review Opeth, not a fan myself. And thanks for the review. Trying to get my first film article to FA : ) M3tal H3ad (talk) 02:21, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
No problem here, i knew once he contacted me ;) M3tal H3ad (talk) 02:26, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Go right ahead. M3tal H3ad (talk) 03:40, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Not anytime soon. Thanks and thanks : ). Metallica was in really bad shape and its most likely the most viewed metal page so you know the rest. Nice work yourself with Opeth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M3tal H3ad (talkcontribs) 03:52, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Sure I'll work with you on LOG. There is no size requirement for FA, as long as the major facts are covered. For example if there was no Style section in the Metallica article people would oppose, as the band's style has changed a lot etc. M3tal H3ad (talk) 04:13, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I will eventually, although i have two and possibly three articles i want to take there before KSE. You can use my talkpage if you want to ask me something, not everything has to relate to wiki. M3tal H3ad (talk) 04:33, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
AVP the movie is average but everything around it is interesting, Dave Lombardo—possibly The Blackening. And I'm 17 and live in Australia. Other then that i don't know what else to do on Wiki, i might break out some DVDs and see if there's enough information for an FA. M3tal H3ad (talk) 04:50, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I hate Australian music, especially everything on the radio. The Blackening is indeed quite awesome my favorites being "Halo" and "Now I Lay Thee Down". All the content is there it just needs a copyedit, which i will do later. Enjoy MH live. Your welcome with the help, it's nice to see someone else improving metal related articles. M3tal H3ad (talk) 05:01, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure thing, I'll take a look sometime today or tomorrow. --Brandt Luke Zorn (talk) 09:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar, your message reminded me to take a look at Opeth, which i will do now. M3tal H3ad (talk) 03:55, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Try and fix the things the user brought up in the previous FAC before he/she takes another look. If you are going to try get FA with it that is. M3tal H3ad (talk) 05:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure thing, I'll get them up as soon as possible. --Brandt Luke Zorn (talk) 04:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Personally I feel the third or fourth picture would work the best. Heh, I actually don't quite know how to upload the picture, set the copyright info, etc. If you could tell me where/how to, I'd appreciate it. GrimmC (talk) 02:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I've got two uploaded to the Commons right now and I used one of them for the info box. It's a pretty good picture, IMO. (Guns N' Roses)If that's all we need to change, you can probably put another bid in for Good Article nomination now. GrimmC (talk) 19:47, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

I was waiting for your Drewcifer's final review. That was just partial. =) --BritandBeyonce (talk) 04:10, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Always welcome. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 04:25, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
Just be sure it will be copyedited and you'll get tons of support. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 02:14, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
That's one of my problems now. I failed to bring "Gimme More" because I am weak when it comes to prose. But anyway, we have a lot of helpful users who will render there services in copyediting. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 02:24, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Chwech copy-edited "Gimme More". I asked WP:LOCE right now for the article's upcoming FAC. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 03:02, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Pics

Thanks for the advice man, i removed them :) Oh, if you need anything at all for the Opeth article please dont hesitate to ask... would love to help on my favourite band's article :D Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 10:51, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Templates

Hey man, what's up?! if i want to create a template for a band, what should i do?! Also, why did you remove 'selected' from 'selected discography' in the Opeth article?! the page does show the selected discography... A link doesnt count as the whole discography, or does it?! :S Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 21:20, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Very well, i shall create them once i'm free... thanks for the info... and actually, no i still dont understand what's your point!! :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 21:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Woops!

Sorry about ignoring the Chevelle GAN. Honestly, I kinda forgot about it. My fault. I'll try and get to it in the next day or two. Please accept my apologies. Drewcifer (talk) 11:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Re:

Hey, good work on Opeth. After a cursory glance the main problem I see is no song samples (add about four or so with detailed captions that explain their style at the time). Also change those AMG refs from (((Still Life))) to Still Life album review, so that its clear what the link points to (I know thats how it is in the actual site, but clarity comes first in this case.) I don't really like the bI'll give a detailed review later on. n I'd also like it if you did the GA review of "Touch Me I'm Sick", which I've nominated. I don't see why you've put AIC for nomination again, I'm afraid I'll have to strong oppose iagain per the same concerns I had the last time (prose and comprehensiveness). I honestly suggest you withdraw it from FAC; whats the hurry anyway? Like I promised before I will help with the prose once you've tracked down the sources I asked you to. Cheers, indopug (talk) 06:22, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

You misunderstand me; I wasn't referring to anything metal head said, but what you said on his page "The sources the person wants are un-reliable". indopug (talk) 04:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I'll do the peer review later today; I suggest you drop a line at the WP:METAL talk page and keep the review open for another few days. Glad you finally got my point about the sources, now that Wesley's helping getting FA might be possible. Could you check the touch me im sick GAN, all of your's and Brit's concerns have been addressed. indopug (talk) 03:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Never done a FAR before, but I'll do my best (over the weekend maybe). You should know though, I really hate Nightwish; I don't mind opera and I like metal, but the combination of the two, yuck. :D Those articles links will be in the FAC previous nom (before it was restarted). I found only about 4 articles/interviews actually reprinted though. indopug (talk) 04:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for making it GA... Yipeeeeeeeeeee!!! My first GA. :D indopug (talk) 04:47, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
First ever. indopug (talk) 04:50, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Opeth and Nightwish reviews

I have added a (rather long) review on the Opeth PR, and will take a look at the Nightwish FAR later- not too big on the FAR/FAC scene though, so no guarantees I'll comment. J Milburn (talk) 18:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Alice In Chains

Sorry man, i heard about them before but listened to a couple of songs only!! dont know much about them and cant say much about them... but good luck anyway!! :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 04:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

No, i did understand what you mean... but i'm new here, i know very little about featured articles AND the band so i cant really comment... and if i tried, i could harm you more than i can do you some good!! would love to help on the Opeth article for example, but cant do it with Alice In Chains!! sorry :) Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 04:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Dont worry, when it comes to Opeth, even if the article is crappy, this is one band that MUST be featured (H)XD... and nope, not yet... i read it all sometime in the middle, waiting for the feature thing to do it!! :D Maged M. Mahfouz (talk) 05:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Alice in Chains FAC

Honestly, any work I provide for Alice in Chains will be slow right now. For one, it's raining in my area for the next few days, and I don't want to carry my laptop to the library in the rain. Even then, I have work and don't often have free time during library business hours. Certainly do as much work as you can, but until I can help with the article, I'd recommend withdrawing the FAC. WesleyDodds (talk) 06:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Slipknot AoF

I have created a new task for the Slipknot Project, it's called the Article of Focus. You can see what this task is for and its aims here. The first AoF is Slipknot (album). As you are a member of the project, your participation in this taks is greatly welcomed and the quicker and better that we improve the article the more efficient the project will become. No problem, I hope this helps elevate the article, because it's very well done. 75pickup (talk · contribs) 18:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
