Arrow subsection proposal

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Arrow_(TV_series)#New_subsection_for_Arrowverse Thought you might be interested in putting in your 2-cents worth, if not that's fine too. Thanks! LLArrow (talk) 03:56, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. December 2015

[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Frank Oz, you may be blocked from editing. Diff: [3] Your claim that Frank Oz appears in The Force Awakens is not supported by the reference you included, which is about the film Inside Out. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:34, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm striking this warning because while you clearly introduced the wrong reference, there is an indication that Frank Oz's voice appears in The Force Awakens. You should seek consensus at Talk:Frank Oz for the inclusion of this information since it's questionable that we should be fabricating screen credits, and you should double-check your work in the future, please. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:39, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

JJ Abrams has confirmed that it is Frank Oz.[1]
He stated so here.

Which is what I wrote above. However there's still the matter of whether or not Oz should receive a credited role if he wasn't credited in the film, which I presume he was not. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:00, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think with the director/writer giving credit to the actor -- they should have credit for their 'work'.
Credits are determined by the large scrolling list of names at the end of a film. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:12, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And yet, Ewen McGreger's cameo is listed? Usually cameos aren't listed in the end credits....

Information icon Please refrain from uploading disruptive images against Wikipedia policies or consensus, such as Deadpool (2016 film) and Justin Bieber. It is considered vandalism. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 21:06, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's the official IMAX poster for the film.... [1]

You'll have to spread the word for me. I don't know how to do that really, very well.

Notice of an RfC which you may be interested in

[edit]

Hello. This is just a notice that an RfC has been created for the discussion regarding alternate titles with Star Wars: The Force Awakens in which you participated in. If you would like to participate in the RfC, you can find it here. Thank you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:00, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Star Wars Ep VII

[edit]

@Burningblue52: - Hi, I see in the discussion section of the RfC you mentioned that you support inclusion of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" in the lead. To that end, have you considered adding a "Support" !vote above? It would help build consensus. Cheers - theWOLFchild 00:56, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Call of Duty organization

[edit]

The current organization of the games was arrived through talk page consensus based on sources that tied the games together in story arcs. If you feel the consensus should change, please use the article talk page and provide sources arguing for a different organization. The fact the games have "Warfare" in the name isn't enough to tie them together. -- ferret (talk) 22:11, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Please sign posts, it makes communication a lot easier without forcing other editors to add unsigned for you. -- ferret (talk) 22:49, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Universal Monsters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Luke Evans. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe

[edit]

I am not trying to start a fight, I created this page over 4 years ago. I coined the phrase Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe before Universal used it. I am willing to share the page for the new universe. The Universal Monsters page is for all Universal Horror films from that era, ex Invisible Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon who are not part of that Universe.

  • You can't 'coin' a phrase which is now officially used by a studio to designate their project. That's not even 'legal' nor is it applicable. Their old films are called the 'Universal Monster Movies'. You cannot simply 'share' a page as they are two different entities and two separate series. Correct it or we'll just have have to get others involved in this 'editors disagreement'. P.S. sign your edits, and your posts.....also I can see that the page was 'created' not very long ago and then rapidly deleted as it was a duplicate.

Comicbookmovie.com

[edit]

Information icon Per WP:RS/CBM please refrain from using comicbookmovie.com as a reliable source. Comicbookmovie.com relies on user-submitted information, which makes it a self-published source and therefore unreliable. Instead please consider using the original source of the information, if the original source is reliable. Thank you.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:13, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be a good argument to be able to site comicbookmovie.com, should the original source be listed for the sake of an interview? Not all articles on there are speculative nor opinion-based. Just saying. Burningblue52 (talk) 19:32, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Things often get lost in translation or in this case transcription, so it is better to always use the original source. However if the interview is exclusive to comicbookmovie.com and is accompanied by audio or video of the interview then it may be appropriate to use.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:02, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive Editing

[edit]

With all due respect, this is getting truly ridiculous. You've been on this site for over a year and you've received numerous warnings, yet you're still continuing to make disruptive edits ([4]). Please stop. DarkKnight2149 23:14, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • What disruptive edits do you claim I am making? I haven't added any false information, nor 'vandalized' any pages. Every contribution I make, I do in great care because I have an appreciation for this website and the facts. If you think that the DC Extended Universe edits I did were disruptive, then by what means? May I direct you to Marvel Cinematic Universe's similar chart, and the X-Men film series' crew chart as well. As you can see I used similar formatting and additional correct and valid information. This is all done in constructive purpose and not in any way intended to be 'truly ridiculous'[1] as you put.

Thanks for your concern. But you are saying things in a hostile and confrontational sense. Burningblue52 (talk)

I was mainly referring to this. I know you're not a vandal and most of your edits seem to be in good faith, and this isn't intended to be an attack or a provocation (though, in retrospect, "this is getting" was a horrible choice of phrasing). This isn't even a user warning. But the reason I used the word "ridiculous" is because you've been making edits like this for a while and it seems like a lot of them end up being reverted by other editors. It would help if you tried to be more mindful of your edits. DarkKnight2149 15:57, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Those edits were done in order to be similar to the other pages I linked in my response^ All edits I have done are meant to be constructive. Perhaps a second chart further down the page would be better. Other pages have charts that list the development crew. Just adding to the information is all.

Burningblue52 (talk)

I was referring to the fact that the note said not to add Christopher Nolan. DarkKnight2149 20:22, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

All I'm stating is a similar format on another chart would be beneficial and summarizes all the info so that a reader needn't click each and every film's link to its page in order to learn the information about each of them. I realize the note said not to, but I wonder why not?

Regarding Star Wars

[edit]

Hello there! I'm the editor who keeps removing the referenced Han Solo anthology material you add to the article. Seeing as I've done it twice, I made a statement at length regarding my reasons at Talk:Star Wars#Han Solo trilogy?. While I am expressing hesitation, I do want you to know that your edit and willingness to contribute to the article is appreciated and that I have not undone your edits in bad faith. If you'd like to discuss this or have any questions about that article, I suggest you head to that talk page. If you have any other kinds of questions, unrelated to the Star Wars article, I encourage you reach me at my talk page, and I will help you to the best of my ability or help you locate a forum that can better aid you. I wish you luck, and stay well! ~Cheers, TenTonParasol 18:40, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am a musician by hobby, and know a lot about the band. Associated Acts is the section that is for other acts that the band-mates have been in. I do not need to add reference as you stated, because the references are within the band members themselves. You reverted and unjustly chastised me there, sir.

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on This House Is Not for Sale. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 17:17, 10 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have not been edit-warring, but simply reverted an edit, and stated the reason that it was reverted. I have not done so multiple times, though I see on the history that other users have done so for the same reasons. If User:Mlpearc has issues with this he needs to take it up on the subject's talk pages as I have done. The issue at hand is said user keeps deleting my talk page suggestions. Someone needs to put that user in check, and correct their disruptive behaviors. Wikipedia requires that edits have references made, as I have done with this particular subject (Bon Jovi). I do not see other users citing their edits/reverts in stating that the album is a 'compilation'. This by default causes their edits to be A) false, and B) subject to in dis-accord with Wikipedia's guidelines. I don't see the issue, nor fault in my stated edits. Burningblue52 (talk)
