[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Battle of Mendefera. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and There was no indication of existence roo. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Otuọcha (talk) 05:49, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- I do not understand. The page was perfectly fine. There were no language or grammar errors in my sentences. What do you mean by “existence roo”? I disagree with the removal of the article and want it to be reinstated. Buntz23 (talk) 05:54, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Many, if not most, editors do not watch every page they interact with so you need to mention someone by including there name such as @Otuọcha (see Help:Notifications). I assume "roo" was a typo and they meant "too". Note that all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Currently you have one source from the "Nharnet Team" from a domain that no longer exists Nharnet.com so difficult to judge if they are even a reliable source. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 09:17, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- My source is from “Experiences of the Eritrean Liberation Army” which was written by Abdallah Idris, the head of the military office in the ELF. These are facts from primary sources that you are denying for some reason. The battle was a very much notable as it is a major battle in the Eritrean war of independence. The book called “Historical Dictionary of Eritrea” by Dan Connell and Tom Killion mentions the liberation of Mendefera by the ELF at the same time I wrote in the article. The ELF commander i listed operated in the highlands of Eritrea, where Mendefera is located. Just because you lack knowledge on this topic does not mean you can remove my article. I disagree with the decision of removing my article. @KylieTastic Buntz23 (talk) 09:54, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- A source written by one side in a battle is not independent. Exaggeration and propaganda relating to wars is normal whoever the combatants are. It does not matter if I or anybody else has or does not have "knowledge on this topic" as Wikipedia is not a place people write things they know about but for articles written backed by multiple independent reliable sources. No reviewer would accept any article on any topic with one source, let alone written by an invested party. The policies of Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Reliable sources are key principles here. If the "battle was a very much notable" then other sources should exist to show notability then please do add and resubmit. We are not denying the battle was real or that is was not notable and important, just that the article at the moment does not demonstrate this. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 11:21, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Your reasoning for the removal of the article is because you do not believe the primary source i provided? Please tell me what seemed exaggerated in my article? This is just pathetic, do you want to me to dig into the military archives of the Derg to find information about the liberation of Mendefera? If that’s the case then you should do it yourself because i have already provided a reliable source. Mendedera is one of the largest cities in Eritrea, its liberation is not a fabricated story. @KylieTastic Buntz23 (talk) 11:40, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

Beja Kingdoms
[edit]I was just looking at the English translation of al-Yaʕqūbī that you cite in the article Beja Kingdoms, & I can't find anything on the war with Alodia or the Dara as-Sawa military training school. I'm likely just looking at the wrong pages. Do you have page numbers? Pathawi (talk) 21:35, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
