A sincere apology
[edit]I truly apologize for your loss and my ignorance of such a tragic loss to you, and I sincerely offer my sympathies and condolences. My intention of such use of the word was not to compare you to a terrorist; however, it has unfortunately construed in such a manner, which is understandable, and therefore have retracted my comments in the light of such unfortunate repercussions. Although you may have indicated that you may not accept my apology, I do wish to say sorry for hurting your feelings with a stray comments and at the heat of the moment and I do hope that you accept this apology as a misstep and misunderstanding on my part. I know you wish to pursue an avenue to censure me for such an inappropriate and impersonal comment, and I will dutifully accept such a measure and dutifully accept any consequences due to my misbehavior. With heartfelt remorse, 210physicq (c) 21:55, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

- Physicq, I accept your apology with good faith. I know you did not know my history as it is a very touchy subject I yet am trying to get over. I apologize myself for allowing work and other factors to influence my mood when posting and allowing my feeling outside of wikipedia to affect my comments towards you and others. I honestly believe you are a good editor and have made many worthy, quality edits to wikipedia. My comments were out of line and I appologize for that. I hope you can accept my apology for my uncivil behavior. --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 22:01, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- In a gesture of reconciliation, I also extend a hand to accept your apology. I myself have made incivil comments to you before this unfortunate incident, and I apologize for such missteps. I have removed the offending comment, and I wish to ask if any more can be done to undo my wrong. --210physicq (c) 22:04, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I am very glad we were able to reconsil. I hope in the future we can work together to do many quality edits to wikipedia. You have done all that is needed to be done. I appreciate your candor and I thank you for accepting my apology as well. --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 22:07, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I likewise agree with your sentiments, and I hope that we can put this tragic incident behind us. --210physicq (c) 22:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- In lue of this, I have gone back an self censored myself, removing all uncivil comments. I believe leaving them there will just 'rub raw nerves' and could start more uncivil behavior from others just joining in. I felt that since we have come to an agreeement I was out of line with the uncivil remarks and the jihad comment was hurtful, there is no reason to leave them up, allowing any hurt feelings to fester. --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 22:20, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. I have reciprocally retracted my own comments, however unfortunately forced to leave one due to a third party unfortunately responding to my comment. However, the comment has been struck out and a note of retraction issued. --210physicq (c) 22:24, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- That is completely understandable and totally acceptable. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you today or anytime in the future --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 22:28, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Query on Desysopping
[edit]You asked in a deletion review where desysopping should be discussed, after someone else pointed out that deletion review is not the right place. Here are my thoughts:
First, it is always best to try to have a civil conversation with another user that you are disagreeing with. In my mind, one of the benefits of really working to follow Wikipedia:Assume good faith is that I sometimes can step back and see someway in which they may have been trying to improve Wikipedia.
If that fails, further processes for dispute resolution are described at Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. In an admin conduct dispute, the next avenues might be a request at WP:AN/I or a user conduct based request for comment at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct. [edit]Brian, I just noticed that you have never added your name to the list of WPND participants. I would encourage you to list yourself so we can know just who is a part of the project. Have a nice day! --MatthewUND(talk) 07:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
you suck
[edit]you suck, asshole -- 01:45, 5 January 2007 86.42.155.95 (I re-reverted this edit. I don't mind people speaking their minds on my chat. I don't care for vandalism, but he just left a message anonomously which while is funny and doesn't much matter to me. Still might as well have a record of it --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?) 18:23, 5 January 2007 (UTC))
Notice Concerning an AfD on 123 Pleasant Street
[edit]I am providing this notice because you recently (Closed January 1, 2007) provided an opinion concerning keep/delete or other comments relating to the AfD for the article 123 Pleasant Street. This AfD had an announced result of a consensus to "Keep." A User or Users dissatisfied with this outcome have intitated a process other than the public AfD to overturn this result. The article is presently once again listed on a AfD discussion. To assure that your original comments and opinions are considered you should immediately again expression them in the Current AfD
I am providing this notice after consulting with the Admin closing the AfD. Edivorce 14:53, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Blair Witch Edits
[edit]You might find it useful to realize a few Wikipedia policies. First of all, we don't allow uncited info. Tons of uncited info in the article means it either finds citations right quick, or th uncited info gets cut. Period. If you have any sort of issue with this, you might want to ask a few questions, rather than calling a good faith editor a vandal. It is a failure of AGF/ Consider this a friendly reminder. :) If you aren't prepared to roll up your sleeves and do the work, don't get pissy when someone removes the unfinished work. News The Grand Forks article is a great example to follow when working on other city articles, particularly those about North Dakota cities. We would be very well off if our other major city articles were similar to the Grand Forks article. Keep the Grand Forks article bookmarked and refer to its structure and style when you work on similar articles. ---New assessment parameter--- The importance of each article is gauged as either Top, High, Mid, or Low. Since "importance" is a rather subjective term, some WPND members are trying to come up with a general set of guidelines. Check out this thread on the WPND talk page to see proposals and to share your own opinions of what is and isn't "important" in the state. | |
