Olá Bruno! You may be right - I might made a mess whilst trying to clean up; I'll take a look and fix it where needed. As for the routing of flights, if you're listing them in the accidents section, I think it's fine to include the via airports. But, in the main destinations table (where we list currently operating airlines & destinations), we don't say "via". We just list the destinations in alphabetical order. Obrigado! dear Mjroots. I find it strange as well. What I know for sure is that Aeronorte was bought and merged into Aerovias Brasil in 1953 which in turn was bought by Varig in 1961 (complicated history). Presently there exists another Aeronorte in Portugal but I reckon it has nothing to do with this accident. On the other hand, Mirituba is a small location in the municipality of Itaituba in Pará, Brazil. My huntch is that Aeronorte some kind of business or development company in the Amazon and this DC-3 was a privatly-owned aircraft. I however was not able to gather further evidence. Mystery solved as per a kind e-mail from Harro Ranter, the president of ASN. The full name of the company in reference is Aeronorte Indústria e Comércio, being a private company different from the Aeronorte - Empresa de Transportes Aéreos Norte do Brasil mentioned in the wikiarticle. So the article is correct as it is. To avoid future mistakes I will place an explanatory hidden note. Lóide Aéreo Nacional with Bolivian registration numbers

It seems that CB-39 previously owned by Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano, was bought by Lóide Aéreo Nacional and crashed on the ferry delivery flight, still bearing the Bolivian registration number but owned by the Brazilian airline. By the way, one question: in one of the edits you changed the long&lat a little bit, you put the one according to ANAC. The one I had put there, is the one according to Google maps. What I did was, on Google maps I clicked exactly in the centre of the runway, and I obtained the long&lat of that exact spot. You then took it from one of the sources, and the difference was really very small, just a few arc-seconds. What is the recommended criteria for choosing the long&lat? In a previous discussion someone told me: ignore the sources, use the long&lat from Google maps. So I wanted to ask you: is there an official criteria for this? Dear Azylber, Good question! I do not know if there is a forum about the issue. The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil, known by the acronym ANAC is the Agency of the Brazilian Federal Government responsible for the information of all airports and aviation in Brazil. If I am not mistaken, their airport tables date from 2009. I have been updating the geo-locations of all Brazilian airports to the ones officially used by the Brazilian government. Obviously a Google map is not official. In this sense, I consider them more accurate, even if slightly different from the ones used by Google maps or by World Aero Data (data from 2006). I believe, but I am not sure, they use the control tower as the geo-location point. In Brazil this information is easily available, which is not the case in other countries. To be honest the prospect of a relatively small company taking over such transatlantic flights, which are almost always filled to the last seat sounds overly ambitious, but the statement is there, the information is certainly critical for thousands of passengers, myself included, so I include it and will wait to see how it works out. After all I come from a country where overambitious statements are made all the time, followed by big delays and modifications (including cancelations). Cheers. Hi, you changed the coordinates back to the ones given in the source. But actually they are less accurate. Dear Grullab, thanks for your kind warning. You are very right. Back in January, 2021 I changed the coordinates to match the data provided by the National Civil Aviation Agency (057°42'44W 03°21'25S), which are obviously incorrect. I have changed to a more accurate one (057°43'29W 03°22'20S), which equals your change. I even checked whether a new airport had been built or if a new technlogy of airports on top of trees had been created (LOL). But these are not the case. SBVT Airport Elevation

Hello, I have seen conflicting information for SBVT airport for its elevation. The latest AIP AMDT as of 04NOV21 has its elevation at 10 meters while the AISWEB site has it at 10 feet. Do you know how to officially find out the correct value?

Hello Usertalk, thanks for your message. According to the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency, the elevation of SBVT is 3 meters or 10 feet. This is reference number 3 in the article and this is the link https://www.anac.gov.br/acesso-a-informacao/dados-abertos/areas-de-atuacao/aerodromos/lista-de-aerodromos-publicos-v2 . Dear IP, In reply to your question, and regardless of the fact that you consider it defunct, the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil considers it active. Therefore, I can garantee that MAP still exists. The proof is that it has a valid CNPJ (taxation number) 10.483.635/0001-40 but also, and above all, its Air operator's certificate was renewed by Decision (Portaria) 8601 of July 15, 2022.
