think about this first - might be harder to read without author's names?
Do you understand anything about the Betz Limit?
[edit]We are having a bit of a difference of opinion whether or not the Betz Limit limit is applicable to the Solar updraft tower or not.
The issue arose when I included a reference to the Betz Limit in an attempt to explain the low conversion efficiency of the Solar updraft tower. The paragraph I put in my Revision as of 23:11, 7 July 2006 was promptly taken out with the argument that the Betz Limit is not applicable, you may want to look at Talk:Solar updraft tower#Betz limit for the relevant discussion. I do not know enough about Wind turbines to argue the case, so I was hoping to get some input from someone who is more familiar with Wind turbines than I am.
The reason I landed here is that I just went through the history of the article on Wind turbines, and what I found is that the paragraph about the Betz Limit was put in by an anonymous editor 70.27.59.180, see Revision as of 05:31, 14 March 2006, but that you were the first the edit his addition. So I thought that perhaps you would know a little bit more about it. Thanks, JdH 14:39, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, JdH. My edit was strictly grammatical, I should have marked it as minor. I can't help you. Maybe try the newsgroup sci.engr.mech? --BrettRob 23:44, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Creativity and intelligence
[edit]Thank you for your message, and yes, I had seen your comment on the article on creativity. I have found some further references to this subject, which I would like to add some time, including an interesting paper by Simonton looking at creativity in scientists. I am quite happy if you wish to move the subheading on creativity and intelligence, but do think the topic needs a mention if this article is ever to stand a chance of gaining featured status. Hope you are OK
[edit]Hi BrettRob. Many thanks for your message. I was a little concerned about you when I read that you said "my time is short" - I was not sure whether you meant that you were very busy at present, as I hoped you meant, or whether you meant something that a worrying illness might have hit you....I hope you meant the former. If you are busy, I can empathise, having a fulltime job, it can be difficult to know how much time to deal with matters, but I am quite fortunate in that as my profession is to teach and to research Psychology, my work, in some ways, overlaps with my hobby! Again, many thanks for your contributions. ACEO 18:54, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oh heavens no! I am fine (poor choice of words). Just busy. I'm also a researcher, currently completing my doctorate. I have also found significant overlap between the two - researching for Wikipedia articles has helped my work, and vice-versa. But at the moment I need to focus on writing my doctorate. So in one sense, my time is short, as my scholarship funding will run out soon! A small amount of wiki-work helps clear my mind in the morning, but that's all I can afford. Thanks for your concern, by the way. If I was suffering a serious illness, I think I would find other more valuable things to do with my time :) --BrettRob 00:28, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

My concern is the page Creativity which is very good thanks to Ertyqway and to you. I would like — as you — to make it a Quality Page. I have some ideas — I have wrote a book : L'intelligence créative — but don't write an enough good english to do it. Can we do something together ?
Thanks for your attention

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
