Sims 2 editing

I appreciate what you are trying to do with The Sims 2. I don't want to discourage you from your present course, but I would like for you to know that what you see there will be changing drastically in the next couple of days. I'm working on a new version of the article at User:Braindrain0000/The Sims 2. I would appreciate your input there. ARV

Thought you might find this handy, User:Lightdarkness/ARV puts a little "report" tab above a user talk page. When clicked it pops up a javascript input box where you can input the reason for reporting them to the vandalism board, and it takes care of the rest.--Crossmr 19:53, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism warnings

To what are you referring? I reverted him 3 times and you reverted him once, as I reverted him 3 times, I left 3 warnings on his talk page. I in no way prevented you from leaving a warning if you chose to.--Crossmr 00:46, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

It may have been an edit conflict. I know when I was in the process of reverting him, I left a warning, and went back to the article to notice my revert wasn't there and it was either you or the other persons who's name was there. That might be what you were referring to. I certainly didn't intentionally step on your toes.--Crossmr 00:53, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

I had a look at the timeline, that's exactly what happened. I clicked revert with popups and had his talk page open in another window. You probably clicked a second before me, and it doesn't give me an error. By the time the page reloaded, I'd already given him the warning.--Crossmr 00:55, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

That's the way it is on many many articles. But they don't want to go down the path of requiring all editors be logged in, goes against the philosophy. About half the articles on my watchlist I cringe when I see an Ip as the last edit (especially when there is no edit summary). Very rarely am I pleasantly surprised.--Crossmr 01:10, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Thermodynamic temperature

Braindrain000: Thanks for watching for people who come through and do destructive edits on the thermodynamic temperature article. I have a auto-assigned I.P. address and sometimes get a new one when I run two computers at the same time. Your merger of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metropolitan area and Cincinnati-Hamilton, OH-KY-IN Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area

The United States government is generally regarded as the authority on defining the names of metropolitan areas and this area is referred to as Cincinnati-Hamilton, OH-KY-IN Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area by both the legislative branch of government (United States Congress [1]) and the executive branch of government (United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census [2]). Is there an explanation why 'Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metropolitan area' is given a preference over the official government name of 'Cincinnati-Hamilton, OH-KY-IN Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area'?

Complementary Angle image

I saw where you went back to the original GIF image on complementary angles. I replaced it with my own because I felt that illustrations of basic geometry are better represented with a vector image. In this case, I thought the image quality wasn't quite as good as some of the other images on other geometry pages. --Carl ^{(talk|contribs)} 16:26, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

United States Army enlisted rank insignia

I reverted the changes you made to that article. Until svg versions exist for all of the insignia on that page, the advantage of having images that use the same colors and are correct with respect to each other in their relative proportions outweigh the advantages of using the svg format. Once versions of the three insignia on that page that are not yet svg-ed exist, changing to svg makes sense. Caerwine Caer’s whines 08:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Louisville is sprouting its wings for 2007! We have a new Assessment Department and a much more refined project template. We have nearly 1,000 articles catalogued for our project. And we still have a lot of work to do. We have 500+ articles left to assess for quality, and all our articles, as always, need tender loving care. UPS Airlines

You noted that UPS Airline's impact on Louisville is minimal, but UPS's annual sustainability report mentions that UPS itself contributes roughly $600 million to the local economy every year, and the 90 or so companies who have moved to Louisville due to UPS's presence have contributed $1.2 billion. UPS is Louisville's largest employer (over 20,000 and growing). UPS Airlines, Worldport, and Louisville are so intertwined that I don't think UPS Airline's article could be categorized as "low-importance." --SquidSK ^(1MC•log) 09:58, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

My intention is not to burden the Louisville project by cruftily inflating the airline's importance, but it's one of the largest airlines in the world (number 8 right now, I believe). 2019 US Banknote Contest

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. 		Believe it or not, WikiProject Louisville is still in operation after nearly 18 years, and we're in the Top 40 most active projects. Recent Project Happenings Since fall of last year, the project has undergone a major revamp. All pages of the project have been redesigned and largely rewritten. Of special note to members is that we're now listed participants. It's a slightly different mode of operation that WikiProjects have been gradually moving toward – instead of being like a club, we're an action center! Check out our Participation & outreach page for more details. We have over 6,800 articles included in the project and over 21,000 pages (including talk pages) overall. Derby 150 Edit-a-thon, Anyone? Your input is welcomed on having an edit-a-thon to commemorate the 150th Kentucky Derby. It would take place during the Kentucky Derby Festival.
