Current casts
Please stop removing "current cast" lists from the pages of musicals with the rationale that "we don't list current casts" when you are the only one removing them.CaptainPedge | Talk 23:10, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but that's not how we operate here! Please see WP:WPMT/AS. BOVINEBOY2008 11:02, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- There is nothing in that page that says "one user may unilaterally delete current cast lists from a multitude of articles and then lie about the reasons" - That certainly is NOT how "we" operate. In fact, the page you linked to specifically says "Please do not delete such lists". Yes the linked page says do not include replacement casts, but it says nothing about the currently performing cast. Furthermore, you seem to have taken it upon yourself to police a number of articles and then outright lie about the reasons for your edits in summaries. Examples of such lies are you saying in one of youe edit summaries on the Les Mis page "No other musical keeps a list of current cast members" when you know this is untrue and implying that there is a MOS for theatre pages - no such MOS exists, only an unofficial wikiproject page, the one you linked here, which is not an official wikipedia MOS CaptainPedge | Talk 15:20, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

It:Chapter Two
Hi Bovineboy2008 I want to why you have removed all the information that I added on to It Chapter Two (2019 film) you could have moved it to the new space unlike deleting everything that was a start for the upcoming movie. Am confused as to why you got raid everything. Chabota Kanguya (talk) 04:47, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- Well, it has not yet begun filming, and we do not keep articles for films that have not yet gone into main production, per WP:NFF. Other than the cast list and short lead paragraph, the information was all already contained at It_(2017_film)#Sequel. For now, it would be best to keep information there until time warrants a stand-alone article. BOVINEBOY2008 17:13, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
Inquiry from The Washington Post
Hi there,
My name is Sonia, and I write for The Washington Post. I'm interested in pursuing a story about Wikipedia users who update/edit pages detailing specific histories of the Academy Awards (e.g. "List of black Academy Award winners and nominees," "90th Academy Awards"). I saw that you're a coordinator of WikiProject Film and was wondering if you might have contributed to efforts to edit similar pages, perhaps during the ceremony (or in the past). People who are simply curious often end up on these informative pages, and I believe our readers might find it interesting to hear the story behind the edits — are there some Wikipedia users who wait for the awards to be announced and then update the pages immediately? How do you keep track of all the history? And so on.
If you'd be interested in chatting with me, please let me know as soon as possible. I can be reached at sonia.rao@washpost.com.
Thanks, Sonia

Hatnote
Hi, I believe this hatnote is unnecessary, since the film itself is based on actor Mohanlal. So it is clearly distinguishable for the readers. I had said that in my previous edit, which I assume you haven't seen. Thanks.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:05, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- If someone is looking for the film, and they search the title, they will end up on the actors page. They will need a link to get to the page they want. BOVINEBOY2008 12:06, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- Since it's based on the actor, people searching for the film will be well aware of that. So there's no confusion. In other case, searching "Mohanlal" will also shows "Mohanlal (film)" in the search box, so there's no confusion in there too. I think presently the hatnote only serves a promotional purpose - to inform readers visiting the page that there is also a film based on him, encouraging them to visit that too. --Let There Be Sunshine 12:19, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- As someone who has no idea who the actor is, I strongly disagree. Not everyone uses the search bar included in Wikipedia, and we can't expect everyone to understand the inner-machinations of the naming/disambiguation conventions we follow. The hatnote is necessary purely for navigation purposes. BOVINEBOY2008 12:23, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
- For someone who has no idea about the actor, there's no need to search for him as well and for those who accidentally end up in the page has no need to visit the film's page as well. Currently it only serves a promotional purpose. And dab (film) is not that uncomprehending requiring an intelligence higher than common sense.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:52, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Sorry (2018 film)
Hi! Well I believe changing release date to premier date is very unnecessary if you refer to its IMDB and official sites linked in IMDB its clearly mentioned in 2018 film, had shown to jury in private screening not premiered or not screened publicly! As I'm Marathi I kept myself updated on this scenario its humble request dont change it and spread wrong information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cinemawala (talk • contribs) 04:57, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Body Horror
Hello! I'm a new wikipedia editor working with a wikieducation fellowship pilot which helps introduce academics to the amazing world of wikipedia editing! Since I'm pretty new, I'm definitely still getting used to the etiquette and intricacies of wikipedia, so hopefully I found the correct place for my question. I recently published my first article on body horror (hurray!), and one of my cohort mentors added a footer to the page for the wikiproject film, since the genre body horror was originally defined as film genre which emerged in American cinema in the 1950s. In the edit history, I saw you removed the designation citing that it doesn't fit within the scope of the project. Since I'm still new, I visited the project page to read up on the scope of included content, but I'm still unsure as to why the article may not fit well with the project. I'm sure this is likely a lack of knowledge on my part, so any clarification on the decision would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to help :).Itherina (talk) 08:20, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

- In the release parameter, we include the first release even if that was at a festival. Please see WP:FILMRELEASE. Do not remove sourced information. BOVINEBOY2008 10:10, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for your contributions! You added a date to the page 15 June 2018, which is unsourced. According to the film trailer and news references to the film, the release is scheduled on festival of Eid, which happens on lunar date. Since, we cannot predict lunar dates, we cannot add unsourced dates on Wikipedia (you may know). Thanks! M. Billoo 19:21, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I did not know that was how Eid was determined. I simply googled "Eid 2018" and that was the date the came up. I've reverted myself. Thanks again! BOVINEBOY2008 19:51, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi again! Thanks for your contributions! Here, you removed categories pointing 7 Din Mohabbat In as 'upcoming' film. Well, the film may have released in half world due to Eid is today there, but Eid is not here in Pakistan and other half world; subject to appearance of moon. Since, it is a Pakistani film, may you please guide if those categories were right or not? Thanks! M. Billoo 12:09, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
Film moves
Hello and thank you for fixing several film article titles. We're now starting the resulting clearup but it may take a while as there are a few thousand broken links to repair. (For example, 420 articles now link to the dab page Charlie's Angels (disambiguation).) If you have time, please help us to fix the links. Thanks, Certes (talk) 22:10, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
Confused
Wouldn't it be simpler just to do it rather than tag it, as here? I'm guessing you are familiar with the relevant infobox. I'm not a fan of the things but clearly you are. - Sitush (talk) 21:54, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
Coverting infoboxes
I noticed that you've been converting articles from using {{Infobox film}} to {{Infobox television}}. Instead of doing this manually, if you just change {{Infobox film to {{subst:Infobox television film/Cleanup the change should be automatic. --AussieLegend (✉) 16:42, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
Just letting you know that I declined your CSD tag on this page; G4 doesn't apply since the deletion discussion was about a different film with the same title (there's no way you could have known that, though, so this isn't a criticism of your tagging!). If you still feel the article doesn't belong on Wikipedia, you can pursue deletion via WP:PROD or WP:AFD instead. Yunshui 雲水 15:55, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
Technical page moves
Hi BB. I did the move for the film you listed at the technical page. Did you know you can get the access rights on your account to allow you to this? More info is here. I did it some time ago for my account. Basically, it gives you an extra tick-box opition when clicking on the page move button that says "Leave a redirect behind". Untick the box, and the page preventing the move is made into a redlink. See the examples of what I did on the film page move I did earlier. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:16, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
Page mover granted
Hello, Bovineboy2008. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, and move subpages when moving the parent page(s).
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:
- Wikipedia:Requested moves
- Category:Articles to be moved, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 18:41, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for explaining further what you were doing in your revert. I don't want to revert you again, but I still somewhat disagree with your edit. I've read WP:FILMRELEASE before and read it again just to make sure I was understanding correctly. After refamiliarizing myself with WP:FILMRELEASE, I agree about not including the UK date. However, I would still say the US date is arguably notable (more so than a one-off Comic Con premiere), and since this was one of the few films to have a Comic Con release, all other Scooby-Doo film articles list the DVD date in the infobox. I understand and agree with your explanation in the edit summary about Wikipedia not being for fanservice, but I would argue that it's more confusing to readers than helpful to not list the main date it was released to the public, especially when virtually every other Scooby-Doo article reflects the main DVD and/or digital date. WP:FILMRELEASE, in my opinion, also seems to apply more to theatrical films than direct-to-video releases, as most theatrical films do have a world premiere (and it would make sense to list the world premiere only, in that case) whereas probably 95% of DTV releases don't have that, and I doubt a guideline would promote being stylistically inconsistent. If anything, I would suggest deleting the one-off Comic Con date from the infobox and replacing it with the main DVD date, as it's more consistent with the other articles and less likely to have people constantly adding it back, which is an issue we would probably face if we just deleted the DVD date entirely. I understand this is contrary to WP:FILMRELEASE, but guidelines aren't necessarily always the end-all be-all solution for everything (as it says at WP:MoS, "It is a generally accepted standard that editors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply."). Happy to hear your thoughts on this as well, and happy to discuss further if necessary. Cheers, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 15:43, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games moved to draftspace
An article you created, Back at the Barnyard: Slop Bucket Games, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
