Draft:Speaking community to trans atlantic african slaves traded ratio

Dear Qcne, I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with some feedback on why my article did not meet the acceptance criteria. I would be grateful for any guidance you can offer to help me improve it. Thank you for your time and dedication. 194.38.172.194 (talk) 09:17, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IP editor. Your draft wasn't really an encyclopaedic article: just a list of slave populations and then a ratio calculation. This isn't what Wikipedia is for, but if you can find reliable research on this topic you might be able to add to existing articles. Qcne (talk) 11:22, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Qcne 194.38.172.194 (talk) 12:24, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

Request for feedback on submission: Benedikt Sobotka

Hi there, thanks for the quick review of my submission for Benedikt Sobotka (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Benedikt_Sobotka). The sources of information I have used for this article are reputable references such as Bloomberg, Reuters and FT, so if I try to rewrite the tone of the article to be more neutral - would this still be a relevant article to submit? Is he notable enough? Thanks for your help in understanding this process. Domkotze (talk) 09:00, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Domkotze
The first Bloomberg source 404s for me, and the other two are interviews, though there is a tiny bit of analysis in the interviews I wouldn't call them great sources as they're not independent.
The two Reuters sources just parrot what he says, so aren't independent.
The two FT sources are okay.
However the article really does need a total re-write to be utterly neutral. Paraphrase the reliable sources in your own words but make no assertations and check out words to avoid.
It would also be really helpful if you filled in the bare URLs in the references. Check out the referencing tutorial at WP:INTREFVE. Qcne (talk) 09:37, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for the feedback @Qcne, I'll have another go at rewriting it and use relevant sources. 165.73.118.91 (talk) 11:51, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, let me know if you want me to have another look before you submit it for review. Qcne (talk) 11:54, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rejected Submission - Lionel (artist)

@Qcne Thanks for the feedback, it was unexpectedly prompt and very helpful (this is my first submission)

I have converted the external links to inline citations and cleaned up the writing style. Please let me know if there are any other aspects of the article you think would improve it. TheUrbanArtivist (talk) 16:27, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @TheUrbanArtivist, small point but I only declined your article (so you can improve and re-submit; rejected would be the end of the road).
In any case- I'm happy with the draft now, so have accepted.
Ref #16 doesn't seem to exist in the body of the text, which is why there's an error at the bottom. Could you fix?
Please also add some WP:CATEGORIES. You can also add a link to the Disambiguation page at Lionel. Qcne (talk) 16:33, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined Article

Hi! @Qcne! I Was Wondering Why You Declined My First Real Article And Really I Don't Know Much About Him CharlieSimpson27112014 (talk) 05:00, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning @CharlieSimpson27112014, I am afraid that a key content policy of Wikipedia is Wikipedia:Verifiability. If there are no reliable sources there can be no article. Qcne (talk) 08:47, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how to add the sources CharlieSimpson27112014 (talk) 19:55, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re-Review TTA Article?

Hey @Qcne! I very much appreciate your feedback on the draft article ive been working on. Would you kindly review it again? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:The_Travel_Agency:_A_Cannabis_Store Stephvrona (talk) 23:45, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Stephvrona. I think that's about okay for acceptance now, so have accepted. qcne (talk) 13:26, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping you could help me

I have been working on Orphaned articles and came across Giuma Omar Bukleb, which I noticed you declined [1]. The editor then moved the article to the main space.

I was looking for links, which I completed. I was looking for ISBN numbers for some of the books the author has written, but I can't find any of the books. This might be because I am on my mobile. I found this [2] that includes 2 short stories from the author. I also looked at our article for A Cure for Serpents as it is listed at Buklebs article as translated by him in 2015 but the article for the book says it was translated by Kathleen Naylor with a link to the book on Amazon [3]. I've no idea what to do with the article now? Can you help? Knitsey (talk) 19:07, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A cursory search finds very little online.. no where near enough for notability. I am going to re-draftify this article and let the editor know. Thanks for pointing letting me know! qcne (talk) 19:10, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking a look. Knitsey (talk) 19:24, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All the best, ScotsOats (talk) 01:38, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @ScotsOats - I'm still not quite seeing enough independent coverage which isn't based on interviews with employers, significant coverage which isn't just routine business coverage without much independent analysis/commentary (i.e. the techfundingnews.com source which is just re-gurgitating a press release with horrific flowery prose).
I think you're close though, so two more sources of good calibre would probably nudge it over the edge of notability. qcne (talk) 13:16, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - I've added two more sources - would you mind taking another look please ScotsOats (talk) 01:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think that nudges it over, so have accepted. Please add some WP:CATEGORIES. qcne (talk) 10:03, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks GAMERBOY102 (talk) 12:24, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the quick turnaround on my submission. The challenge I face in creating this article is that the subject is a journalist who covers the news, and has not received much news coverage about Mr. Azuz himself. Surely this person is notable, as the former host of a popular student news show produced by a large media outlet. He currently has more than 40,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and over 60,000 followers on X. I would appreciate some suggestions in buttressing the page in hopes to get it published. Thank you! Pveclaire (talk) 21:52, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Pveclaire. We're looking for significant coverage in reliable, independent sources to prove notability. Notability in this case doesn't mean "famous" or "has 50k> subscribers", but instead should be thought of "noted in secondary sources".
The Buzzfeed News source is okay, in that it does provide significant coverage (though - not sure how reliable Buzzfeed is these days..). The mhstrail is a fairly concise source and also doesn't provide that sigcov. qcne (talk) 21:58, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I think I finally have a winner! I would appreciate any additional help you could provide for this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Pat_Bastien.

Thanks!

DCfootball09 (talk) 17:20, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've accepted it, @DCfootball09, based on that I think it just about nudges over to notability (we're talking like, 51%). Do continue to improve it!
Please add some WP:CATEGORIES too. qcne (talk) 18:16, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
