Draft:Six Degrees (or 6 Degrees)
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. In response to your question at the teahouse, I had a look at Draft:Six Degrees (or 6 Degrees). Normally, when we have a programme without episode titles we assign a pseudo title in the form "Series x, episode y" or similar because of the way that {{episode list}} works. I've "fixed" the problem that you had, but I got a bit carried away and made some other changes to the article so that it better complies with the way that we generally write TV articles. Please check out the edits, I've included edit summaries for everything, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me, or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television.
@AussieLegend: Hi, many thanks for your assistance and contributions. I'm new to editing Wikipedia so I'm still trying to figure out how it all works. The revised page looks much better after your edits; I'd looked at some other pages for TV shows and tried to emulate them but there's quite a lot of variety with layouts and templates. Thanks again. Co-op
[edit]Hey Bodb Derg! I'm am EuroCarGT, a mentor for the Co-op, I am here to ask if you are willing to work together to learn about and improve Wikipedia and achieve the goal of the Co-op? Best and kind regards, ///EuroCarGT 23:32, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi EuroCarGT, yes I'm new to editing Wikipedia so not very familiar with how it all works yet. Bodb Derg (talk) 13:44, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
- Cool! You stated on your profile that you are interested in learning how to create and edit pages, which is a great thing! I see that you are currently working on a draft right now (Draft:Six Degrees (or 6 Degrees)), do you have any other page you are looking to work on? Do you have any questions relating to creating/editing pages? THis is my first time mentoring at the Co-op so hope this will be a good experience. Best, ///EuroCarGT 18:44, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Yes I've been working primarily on (Draft:Six Degrees (or 6 Degrees)), with a little assistance! In the future I'd like to help edit and improve other pages, probably for TV shows or movies I watch. Do you know how to go about publishing a draft page? Also, do you know if images/stills from a TV show can be displayed on its wikipedia page, for instance, the title card, cast photos, etc?Bodb Derg (talk) 22:36, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Publishing a draft page, that I will assist you through that process. Images that are from a TV show are considered copyrighted content and can be only used as a non-free file under fair use law. Basically say if you want to add a title card in the article, you could go ahead and upload a non-free, low resolution/quality image of the TV show title card and insert a non-free rationale such as this one into the file page. There are some terms and restrictions in place regarding using non-free content on Wikipedia. Before we start this mentoring process, I will request some resources to get us started. Best, ///EuroCarGT 23:39, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Okay, great. I have some images from the TV show's website/facebook page, such as titlecard and cast photos. Can I upload these somewhere?Bodb Derg (talk) 11:22, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Well since the article you are currently working on is a draft, having a non-free image on it is not ideal. You should wait for the article to be published live, then upload the title card and related images. Wikipedia has some strict rules when it comes to non-free images such as the image must meet certain criterias and so. Once you article seems complete and such, then it would be a good time to upload them. ///EuroCarGT 00:06, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
