If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on El Rio (gay bar), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi Bobdoe1, and thank you again for your contributions.
I can see in Talk:El Rio (gay bar) you wrote
El Rio has done more for its community and neighborhood than just being a neighborhood bar. It has impacted the lives of many LGBTQ+ people and it has pushed fundraisers to help promote social change. This article has more citations and concrete details than the last page did. El Rio shares history with Mission Street and LGBT culture in San Francisco.
I think it may be useful to compare The Wildrose (bar) and El Rio.
  • While The Wildrose article is just a stub, it includes three citations - two from newspapers and one from its local government's website - that arguably confirms its status as a significant and not just "run of the mill" business.
  • I have done the required "due diligence" ("WP:BEFORE" refers to "Articles for deletion", but I'm WP:IAR-ing here) but I can find little evidence in reliable sources that El Rio is any more than a run of the mill gay bar in San Fransisco.
That said, perhaps references to the works of Juana María Rodríguez may assist here.
As always, please let me know if I can assist you in any way whatsoever.

El Rio (gay bar)

[edit]

Hi Bobdoe1, I looked at the page El Rio (gay bar) and tagged some issues that you can address. The page is an WP:ORPHAN, meaning that no other pages link to it. It is also uncategorized, and three sections contain no references. Sections without references are in danger of getting removed entirely, so please add references that support this content. Thanks, Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:46, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
