Dear Bobcat21a: Thank you for your message. I would like to confirm that the most recent version of the changes that you have made to the article are very welcome, although there is no need to put the date of referencing at the top of the page (nor is it part of the usual article style). I believe I owe you an apology for having assumed your prior edits were inclusion of incorrect information: since the information you inserted in the article, which replaced the existing content, differed considerably from that which had been in the Wikipedia article for a number of revisions for a considerable period of time, the usual assumption in situations where factual information that has resided in articles for a long time is sharply changed is that it is incorrect. At the time, I did a cursory Google search to check the information you had provided, and many pages appeared to agree with what the article had formerly said -- though I realise, in fact, that they may have got the information from Wikipedia in the first place, creating a circular scenario. The other possibility is there are a series of regularly-repeated factual errors on the article topic.

I would like to say, however, that my nationality has nothing to do with the matter at all -- my opinion on the subject of "gun politics" is irrelevant when it comes to my role as a Wikipedia administrator, and was not a motivation for my response to your changes. As goes dealing with what appears to be vandalism, I really do not care about the subject domain: it could be on guns, sex toys, or a specific brand of rubber duck, and it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. In this instance I made a mistake which I readily admit, and I thank you for submitting a revision to Wikipedia that sources the corrected information. Additionally, I would remind you that, whilst I apologise for the error in judgement that I made regarding your changes to the article, I will not respond to the personal attack regarding gun ownership, nor will I comment further to your attempt to goad me into discussion about gun politics. Mr. Turnbull

I just found your message of Nov. 2010 regarding my Beretta Bobcat 21A revision. Let me just just say I owe apologies to you for any of my responses being taken as any sort of attack or goading. This article was my first experience of writing on Wikipedia and I found it exasperating. I was not familiar with procedure for adding text, I did not include documentation immediately, and was dumbfounded that it kept being deleted! It finally ended up as a good piece, I believe. There has been a recent addition that I feel is improper, and I have said my peace in the "Discussion" section, without deleting it. Thank you again. I am considering an article on the Ruger Bearcat single action revolver, as there is none at present. I will be sure to have my documentation ready!
