AD or CE?
[edit]I noticed that you changed the date format in Josephus from CE to AD. If one style has been used for a while in an article, you should go to the article's talk page and get a consensus of for such a change. I have changed it back to what was the status quo for quite a while. Both formats are used in various articles. AD is "Anno Domini" and means "year of Our Lord," which non-Christians might not find preferable. BE means "common era" and is more common in articles about non-Christian subjects. See MOS:ERA for the Wikipedia manual of style dealing with this. Edison (talk) 16:04, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
One or more of your edits are in violation of WP:ERA and have been reverted. Prevailing era designations are not errors to be corrected, and changing them is not a matter of personal preference. Per WP:ERA, consensus is needed before changing the era style established in an article. Please refrain from making any more such edits without first obtaining consensus for the change. Any further violations can be regarded as vandalism and can lead to your being blocked from editing. Thank you. Hertz1888 (talk) 20:39, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Josephus, you may be blocked from editing. Hertz1888 (talk) 21:37, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
- Please stop your disruptive behaviour. It appears you are purposefully harassing another editor. Wikipedia aims to provide a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing other users potentially compromises that safe environment. If you continue behaving like this, you may be blocked from editing. Hertz1888 - Discontinue posting harassment messages on my talk page. BC/AD is acceptable as a scholarly reference, and in use on Wikipedia with other non-Christian pages (such as Julius Ceasar: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=julius%20caesar). I have not vandalized the page in any way. I have posted nothing malicious or non-factual. I will consider further messaging on this subject as user harassment on your part. Some advice on editing
[edit]- Hello, Bobbydgo, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I hope you have a successful time here, but I see you have started out with some problems, so I will offer you some advice, which I hope will help you.
- Above, Hertz1888 referred to your editing as "vandalism". I am sure that was a mistake, as nothing you have done looks to me like vandalism. I also think that Pi.1415926535's comments to you, including such expressions as "cut the crap" and "you're going to be out on your ass", were unhelpful, and unnecessarily aggressive. The right way to deal with an inexperienced editor who one thinks has made mistakes is to explain to him or her in a friendly and civil way what one thinks those mistakes are, not to post comments of that sort. However, as has been explained to you, your edits to the article Josephus were out of line with Wikipedia's guidelines, and informing you of that fact, and of the policy on edit-warring was not harassment; on the contrary, informing an inexperienced editor of what Wikipedia's guidelines and policies say is a way of helping him or her to know how to edit.
- The reason I became aware of these issues was that I saw a report about your editing at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. I have declined that report, as none of your editing looks to me like vandalism. I hope that from now on you will be able to edit successfully. Some of the comments addressed to you have been uncivil, which is unacceptable, but if that happens again try to resist any temptation to be uncivil in return; that way if anyone is blocked because of such comments it won't be you.
- Please feel welcome to contact me if you think I may be able to give you any other advice or help. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 09:42, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- I now see that, while Pi.1415926535 did tell you to "cut the crap", the comment about being "out on your ass" was from EEng. Sorry about that mistake. Both, I think, could have been phrased better, particularly for a new editor. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:39, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm MrOllie. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. MrOllie (talk) 11:42, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at The Epoch Times. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you.
That was pure POV vandalism and contrary to what RS say. Make up your mind if you are here to create an accurate encyclopedia or not. Don't push your personal political POV here. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 14:05, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- Please stop posting far left lies and misinformation. If you’re going to use Wikipedia, post the truth. We have enough far left lies in this country already. Do your job so other people don’t have to. And I will remove those false facts again as soon as my account is unlocked. If you don’t unlock it, I’ll simply open a new one under a different IP and remove it. I’ve had enough of the far left lies seeping its way into our news, our social media, and our lives. 2600:1004:B119:D72D:8408:F02:E5A1:6C17 (talk) 14:48, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- How dare you accuse me of vandalism! That is exactly what you are doing by allowing these false facts to appear in Wikipedia. Do you really think that gaslighting me is going to stop me? Do you really think gaslighting is is going to stop decent people from telling the truth? Get off of your soapbox of willful ignorance, and don’t you ever dare accuse me of doing exactly what it is that you are doing again. How dare you! I will continue to remove those false facts again and again and again and again and again and again, and I will open a new account under a new IP address every time if that’s what I have to do. Who do you think you are? Don’t you dare ever contact me again. 2600:1004:B119:D72D:8408:F02:E5A1:6C17 (talk) 14:51, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- And by the way, Wikipedia is for EVERYONE. Not for gaslighting pompous and self involved editors who think that they can run it as they see fit all on their own. It is for EVERYONE. You do know what that word means? Everyone. Not just you. Not just you and those who agree with you. EVERYONE. Don’t you ever dare reach out to me again, or accuse me of vandalism again. You do not own Wikipedia sir. Nobody owns it. And it is supposed to be a place for TRUTH. Just because you continue to post and repeat lies, or allow others to post and repeat lies, and just because you gaslight those who fight for truth, doesn’t make you right. Repeating a lie over and over and over again doesn’t make it true. Get off your high horse, and do REAL research. That means not going to Google or the main stream media. Obviously you need an education. I see that you’ve been “editing“ Wikipedia for 20 years. That’s 20 years too long. 2600:1004:B119:D72D:8408:F02:E5A1:6C17 (talk) 14:55, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
