Speedy deletion of Vibration-proof hitch
[edit]A tag has been placed on Vibration-proof hitch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding
{{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ZooFari 20:28, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- The article is fixed, so I have removed the speedy tag. I also made fixes. ZooFari 23:05, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

- I want to second this wish. Not all pictures used in Gripping sailor's hitch are created equal. I tried to use them in the norwegian version of the same page; only one shows. You may want to mark the others also "Own work" just like the good one in the same series, File:Bobmcgrsailorgrip2.jpg. Cobanyastigi (talk) 13:49, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Knotting contributions
[edit]Greetings BobMcGr, I missed dropping you a note last month when you were active adding/expanding several knotting articles. Thank you very much for these quality contributions! Please consider joining the WP:KNOTS project and feel free to drop me a note on my talk page if you have any questions, etc. Regards, --Dfred (talk) 14:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Vibration-proof hitch photos
[edit]Hi BobMcGr. I just wanted to let you know there is some question about whether the photos you contributed actually show a vibration-proof hitch. In particular they do not match the knot as presented in at least one relatively reliable source, Geoffrey Budworth's The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Knots & Ropework, p 94. As you're probably aware, it is not uncommon for knotting books to get things wrong occasionally -- it remains to be seen exactly where the discrepancy lies. I've left the photos in the article but flagged them pending further discussion and checking. You're welcome to reply here or on my talk page, but it would probably be best to add substantive info to the actual discussion found here: Talk:Vibration-proof hitch#Is the knot as currently presented really the VPH? --Dfred (talk) 15:20, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Gripping sailor hitch photos
[edit]Hi, I like your photos and used them in the Norwegian equivalent page [1]. There is one problem that I believe only you can solve. Bobmcgrsailorgrip4.jpg and Bobmcgrsailorgrip3.jpg do not show in the Norwegian page, while bobmcgrsailorgrip2.jpg does. The solution might be to upload them to commons.wikipedia.org, or to change the attributes that cause the trouble. Thanks.Cobanyastigi (talk) 21:08, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
