Grantham Canal GA nomination

[edit]

Greetings and Happy New Year!
I found this on my talk page. Since I am only the nominator, and don't have access to any sources I wondered if you could handle it?

Hello Robert EA Harvey, I am just letting you know that I review an article that you nominated for GA, Grantham Canal. Good luck and here is the review page: Talk:Grantham Canal/GA1. Regards,--12george1 (talk) 00:05, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 17:05, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Happy new year too. No problems. I will have a go at sorting any issues. Bob1960evens (talk) 19:25, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Good man. I've been head cook & bottlewasher over the break, so I've been filling home centisquares on Geograph --Robert EA Harvey (talk) 20:05, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sleaford Navigation GA nomination

[edit]

Another one I am afraid:

I've begun reviewing your nomination of Sleaford Navigation. A few points need action, which you can find detailed at the link above. Thanks for your work! -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:21, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

River Arun GA nomination

[edit]

Hello Bob - I started reviewing the article River Arun, which you nominated for GA. I have a few initial comments, which you can read and respond to here. I may have one or two additional comments later. Take care, Moswento talky 16:01, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

You see to be the perpetrator with the books, so I am bring to your attention that I have started reviewing River Rother, West Sussex at Talk:River Rother, West Sussex/GA1. I think I have been fair, but there is a bit of work that needs to be done before this can be a good article. Jamesx12345 (talk) 09:33, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

River Rother, East Sussex

[edit]

Hi Bob, I began the review at Talk:River Rother, East Sussex/GA1. Thanks for your work on this one, it looks great--only some very small issues to address before passing. -- Khazar2 (talk) 08:19, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bob, In the review section you said (This is a general problem with river articles. There must be something somewhere that quotes basin areas and lengths for the rivers of the UK, but I haven't found it yet.) You may want to look at the info here, as it may be the something somewhere that you were looking for. Jokulhlaup (talk) 18:12, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I'm still trying to work out what to do with it, but it may prove useful. For the Rother, I have five sections mentioned, Coggins Mill to Five Ashes, Coggins Mill conf to Witherenden Hill, Witherenden Hill to Etchingham, Robertsbridge to Iden and Kent.Lower. That gives a total length of 80.98 km (rather more than expected, even with a chunk missing in the middle) and an area of 170.07 km2 (much lower than expected). GA nomination for Axholme Joint Railway

[edit]

Greetings. I have reviewed, and passed, this article as GA.--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 15:28, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I have left a note on the review about facts in the lead that you raised. Bob1960evens (talk) 15:47, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ISBN error on my Sources page

[edit]

Thank you for the heads-up at User talk:84user#ISBN error on your Sources page, I did indeed mistype the ISBN of my dictionary! The sources page is now fixed and no longer appears in Category:Pages with ISBN errors. -84user (talk) 21:05, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New icons

Some new icons that I thought might be useful (or at least more aesthetically pleasing):   (WWECHSEL) + variants. Useddenim (talk) 22:07, 20 April 2013 (UTC) [reply]

For me it doesn't look(ed) like a useful stuff, rather as a forgotten snippet but if you say it is then it is useful. I am glad you reacted immediately. --Best regards, Keysanger (what?) 14:03, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I moved it (and {{Plainrow}}) to Wikipedia:Route diagram template/Canalrow (and …/Plainrow. We already had this discussion about the BS-anleitung templates properly being sub-pages of WP:RDT. Useddenim (talk) 23:11, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is a GA review going on if you are interested.--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 03:26, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw you fixed the 'broken' ISBN there. FYI, I'm actually working on a copy of this biblio right now...not 'changing' it, but using the LCCN and WorldCat to fill in/correct the missing metadata and such. Just thought I'd mention it....when I get done in a bit and replace the section, it might look 'wierd' to see me replacing the whole thing. I have your fix in my text as well, tho. Revent (talk) 16:54, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you look now, I've written the 'filled out' version to the page. Revent (talk) 17:43, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. The page appeared on Category:Pages with ISBN errors, which is how I found it. Bob1960evens (talk) 18:02, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

River Welland is undergoing a GAN. It is a decent article, and will meet GA criteria - though there are a few queries, and a little bit of work to be done on the lead, on the layout, and on incorporating a couple of lists into the article. The review has been put on hold for an initial seven days to allow the work to be done. SilkTork ✔Tea time 23:07, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well done. Keep up the good work! SilkTork ✔Tea time 10:08, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good Effort with the article. Have a Picture Postcard.--Robert EA Harvey (talk) 14:40, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Typo

[edit]

In this: Thames and Severn Canal‎; 00:46:26 . . (+547)‎ . . ‎Bob1960evens (talk | contribs)‎ (→‎Funding: £800,000 in Dec 2013) ... the 2013 is a typo for 2012. I don't know if it's possible to correct the notes on changes, but it is quite confusing. Imaginatorium (talk) 04:09, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have not found a way to correct the edit summary, but I spotted that I had written "agree" instead of "agreed", so changed that and added a suitable edit summary about the £800,000 being in 2012, as the article said. Regards. Bob1960evens (talk) 08:29, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Visual Editor

[edit]

Hey Bob1960evens

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:46, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
