User talk:Blumby
Welcome!
Hey there, Blumby.
[edit]First, let me say Welcome to Wikipedia!!! Second, let me point you to Wikipedia:Consensus. This explains how things get included or excluded from articles. There are some subtleties throughout WP though that you will find as you gain experience. As to my edit on Ann Coulter, you wrote:
Can you please explain why you have repeatedly removed the Dabid Letterman quotation from the intro of this article. The letterman show is watched by millions of viewers around the globe and as such is THE most exposure Anne Coulter has had in the mass media so far. There are two other humourous quotes from an uncited source and from a rarely red English Newspaper whose circulation is paltry and certainly not considered mass media!
Is your right wing POV clouding your judgement here as i have not recieved a coherent explanation from you yet:
"Actually, Blumby, you are the one that does not have consensus to include this... especially in the intro."
I really don't care if I have the consensus or not, i'm not in this for personal gratification (unlike yourself i fear), i am reporting a widely circulated and RELEVANT quotation from the AMERICAN media. It is not my opinion of Anne Coulter, i do not make judgements, i just report the facts.
Please provide a coherent explanation for your actions. I will hold off re-editing the article until this is given as i really don't want to be petty about this.
Thank you.
Well let me say, no, my "right wing POV" is not "clouding my judement". And I am not totally convinced the other two quotes deserve a place in the intro. I only made one edit removing the quotation, I never "repeatedly removed" it. And I do not edit WP for personal gratification, sorry. We are building an encyclopedia, and you are more than welcome to participate. But you must follow some simple rules. Consensus being one of them. Please use the talk page for Coulter before reinserting it. Thanks. I look forward to working with you in the future. See you around, friend. --LV (Dark Mark) 13:35, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Addendum: And I am not so sure about your claim. I may be wrong, but I believe The Today Show has more viewers than Letterman. But Coulter has been all over the mass media in recent months (and years), not just on Letterman. Thanks. --LV (Dark Mark) 13:38, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay, whatever. Not exactly sure where you are getting your sources, but hey, to each his own. See ya. --LV (Dark Mark) 18:45, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- You know, normally I would not even bother with someone like you, but you seem special, so I'll continue. Yes, of course it can be proven that Letterman said that, but if you would listen, you would hear that I don't want those other quotes in there either. And please read WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA before contacting me the way you just did. Thanks, buddy. --LV (Dark Mark) 23:40, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- You're exactly right. If I find a few minutes later to write a proper introduction, I shall do so. But now it's off to bed. Cheers. --LV (Dark Mark) 00:00, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Copyvio?
[edit]Question about this edit: Is this a copyvio? See this page for text in question. A little explanation would be appreciated. Thanks. --LV (Dark Mark) 16:30, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
