Britney Spears
[edit]Hello. Yeah, it deserves "some" mention. I recommend mentioning it in one single sentence, not several paragraphs. And remember to put in a reference. Remember that you need to type <ref>{{cite web | title= | url= | author= | publisher= | date= | accessdate= }}</ref> when you cite it. Thanks. Oops!...I did it again (talk) 10:43, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing out the problem with the Mick Jagger article. I've fixed that. I understand what you mean - Britney is world famous, but that's just not the way it should be written for an encyclopedia. If you said something verifiable such as Britney scored more google hits last year than any other person - and added a source - that would be great. Or that she was the most discussed celebrity by People magazine in 2007 - with a source. But just saying she is world famous doesn't really mean anything. There are thousands of people who are "world famous". Should we put that into the opening sentence of all of their articles too? Who says she is world famous? Where is the source? How is it measured? That's what you're missing, but there's no need to get angry. Rossrs (talk) 15:55, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
- Rossrs is right. WP:BLP states that any claims should be cited with a reliable source or else it needs to be removed immediately.
- Mick Jagger's article is rated B class, while Britney's article is rated GA. That means Britney's article is of a higher standard than Mick's article. Hence Britney's article should not be modified according to any other article below a GA rating. Thanks Oidia (talk) 11:12, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
