Category:Doctor Who comic creators
Just a note to say Category:Doctor Who comic creators probably won't last. There was a crack down on categories of creators by project/firm and the 2000 AD one was put up for deletion. I voted keep and was surprised when it wasn't deleted and suspect it wouldn't survive a second deletion round. Anyway just a headsup so a CfD doesn't come out of the blue. If it is nominated your best bet is to copy and paste the cat and aim to produce a "List of Doctor Who comic creators" in case things don't go your way (it is what I did last time).
Anyway good work on the Doctor Who comics. (Emperor 17:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC))
- Yes I find that people can come in quoting policy and throwing their weight around and the trick is to be able to spot when such claims are hollow. The creators cat is tricky as there is a general consensus against this (it is part of a broader "people by project" concern which also impacts superheroes by team) - which is a pity as it is a useful category but for some creators who have worked for dozens of companies it could lead to run away categorisation resulting in them not being too helpful in the end. It is a tricky one.
- I was thinking about separate entries for the comics. There are plenty of precedents and different approaches e.g. Hellboy: Seed of Destruction and List of Ultimate Spider-Man story arcs. Coincidentally I have dropped in a note on a template for trade paperbacks/graphic novels [1] which would be useful in such circumstances. However, they'd need to satisfy WP:N so reviews and analysis (is there for example a book analysing the Doctor Who output? Note the Sandman companion and I have found David A. McIntee's Alien and Predator book useful for the relevant comics e.g. Aliens vs. Predator. Might be worth mocking them up first in your sandbox. (Emperor 11:58, 3 September 2007 (UTC))
Thanks for your updates to the Sheffield 1915 FA Cup Final player stubs. It took me ages to set them and the Chelsea players ones up and it's great to see them expand slowly --Gmac101 (talk) 12:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I have a confession: I'm not a Blades fan. I got interested in this because George Utley was my Great Great Uncle. So I was thinking about doing some work on the 1910 & 1912 finals next and the rather disasterous England-Ireland match which Utley played in, but I hope to add more to the 1915 final in the future and I now keep an eye on the Blades results. I'm sorry to see the chaos in the boardroom at the moment - not normally good for results --Gmac101 (talk) 12:32, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Some great updates to the Utley article. It seems he had a keen idea of his value to a club. In the 1915 cup final programme they mention his 1913 tranfer fee so it must have caused quite a stir. Then managing to get another £1000 pounds out of the club a few years later was no mean feat. Good luck in the replay - It looks like Barnsley have refound a bit of the Utley grit though --Gmac101 (talk) 13:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

The task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities is happy to announce that there are now (at least) stub articles for all municipalities of Germany. Now the task force is looking for help in fleshing these out a little bit. The current phase of activity for the task force is to copy in infoboxes from the articles in German Wikipedia. If you want to help, even just for a few articles, look at the instructions and links here
There are now way over 26.000 articles tagged as part of our Wikiproject and many still need either an importance or a quality assessment. Also there are many more out there that do need to be tagged like approx 8000 municipalities. If you would like to help take a browse through Articles needing Importance assessment or Articles needing a basic quality assessment. |

Speedy deletion of Luigi Cozzi
A tag has been placed on Luigi Cozzi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —BradV 21:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Congratulations - you placed that deletion notice within seconds of me publishing that article - which was only moving information someone else had placed withing another article. Judging by your edit history deletion is the key aim of your existance. Keep up the good work!! 22:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Deleting Factual information
It seems that you have deleted factual information on Kyle Naughton's page. It is not illegal to add to entries on Wikpipedia when the reason is to report widely reported news from the press. The last entry made was entirely factual, and within Wikipedia guidelines. You don't own Kyle Naughton's page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.161.227.39 (talk) 20:01, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
You seem to be confused between what is a fact, and what is speculation. It is a fact that throughout the media, it has been reported that Everton have made a bid for Kyle Naughton. Whether Everton have indeed made this bid is beside the point, since all I am doing is reporting what the media claims to be factual. I am not speculating that these media stories are in existence, because they're there for everyone to see. So why do you keep claiming I am speculating, when I'm clearly not? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.161.227.39 (talk) 13:11, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Ian Bennett
Hi, bit confused by your recent addition. Your BBC source doesn't even mention Bennett's name, let alone a contract extension. This from the Yorkshire Post says he's been offered an extension, but I've seen nothing anywhere to say he's signed one. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:02, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Blades players without squad numbers
In the shef star here it says that Rob Kozluk has been released by the Blades but Wilson is looking at giving him a new contract. Are we to assume that all players who have not been given squad numbers are out of contract/ been released? I've not really seen anything on which Blades players have been released/ out of contract. Have you? Normally there is like an article somewhere saying Blades release X players etc. But I aint seen anything this summer. I remember when we signed Lawrence Thomas, the article on sufc.co.uk said he has signed until the end of the year. So is he out of contract? IJA (talk) 10:54, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Cheers. So it is best to just assume that unless we hear otherwise, they're still Blades players? And we should keep them on the article as Blades players? Also do you know why no-one has been allocated the number 7 shirt? IJA (talk) 14:54, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Also I'm looking out on sufc.co.uk for confirmation of Kozluk extending his contract by another year. Even though France is injured and has that silly clause in his contract, is he still in the books as a player? If he isn't registered as a player he should be removed from the list. IJA (talk) 14:59, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I've included Thomas and Kozy on the "outs" for the 2011–12 Sheffield United F.C. season. We can always add Kozy to the "ins" if there is confirmation of him signing a new contract. I've not seen much sign of life of Garados at the lane either, the same applies to Warren and Kennedy. Chapell has been involved with reserve matches. I thought they were saving it for Xavi haha. But a more believable rumour which is going around is that Beattie wants to return to the lane. IJA (talk) 15:34, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
New third kit colours
This is the new third kit which can be seen here by Jamie Ward [2]. Can you please add it to the article? Cheers IJA (talk) 11:57, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Parrino and France
This official article here says that "The versatile defender, 22, has signed a year's deal and returns after impressing when playing nine times during a loan spell with United last season", which to me suggests he has singed a year contract. It doesn't mention that he has joined on loan, only that he was on loan (as we know) last season. I think it is a permanent signing as he can play left back and we only have one healthy left back JFL, as Taylor is injured. I agree get rid of Ryan France from the list, he may be involved with the club still but he certainly is not a player any more. IJA (talk) 17:03, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
- I bet Parrino gets given 26 as his shirt number. IJA (talk) 18:44, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Injury list
If you look at 2011–12 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. season they have an injury list, I was wondering if we should do the same for the Blades? Then again we're always plagued by injuries so can we be bothered haha? Morgan, Ertl, France and Taylor are currently injured and I think Evans, Porter and Flynn are also injured. What do you think about this proposal? IJA (talk) 13:57, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Actually Porter came on against Tranmere so I think he is over his injury, but he can still be included as formerly injured this season. IJA (talk) 14:19, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think it looks better now and is easier to update. I think it should go below the squad info but I'm not too bothered as such mate. I'll leave it up to you to decide. Regards IJA (talk) 14:44, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
Gardos
I'm not doubting you but how did you find out that Gardos is back in Hungary and that he was only on loan? IJA (talk) 20:03, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Cheers mate, thanks very much. I've added it to my honours page. Yeh Bramall lane are crap with communications, I can't even find quad info for the youth team etc. I'm absolutely devastated about Speedo, did not see it coming at all :( Regards IJA (talk) 10:37, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
- You have some good ideas there mate, I've replied to you on the season talk page. IJA (talk) 14:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Jesus! Thats a lot of work haha. I'd be more than willing to help. I think "List of Sheffield United F.C. players" is a good place to start. I've made some minor updates to Beattie and Billy Clarke. Tbh I can't wait for the transfer window to reopen, thats always fun to edit. But I have a feeling players like Evans, Lowton and Quinn could leave :( IJA (talk) 16:03, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
- I've had another idea, we can make note when players sign a new contract, some sort of table to show how long they have extended it by. However I think this season it only applies to that w****r Slew! haha IJA (talk) 08:27, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- I've removed Williams from the squad list as he has played his last match during his loan spell. IJA (talk) 15:21, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- Lee Williamson has now accumulated 5 Yellow cards in the league, so he should receive a one game match ban. Do we add this to the suspension section? IJA (talk) 16:31, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thats the best idea I reckon, wait until there is confirmation. Either me or you will see something if discipline is confirmed. Two own goals by Bournemouth. Ched still should take the credit tbf. ;) IJA (talk) 16:39, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Marcus Williams has singed for us now so I did the updates, however I didn't give him squad number 30 yet as it hasn't been confirmed. Am I right in thinking he could be given a different squad number? IJA (talk) 17:35, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- I thought that was the case, but I wasn't too sure. I was thinking that scenario too, what if someone else had been allocated his former number from earlier on this season? Yeh we should find out later today, I can't make my mind up over who I prefer in left back, LJF or Williams. IJA (talk) 11:26, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I like the way you changed the reference name for Williams to "williams perm deal", sounds like hes gonna get him sen a hair cut haha IJA (talk) 12:04, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm off to Bury tomorrow so you'll have to make all the updates, caps, statistics etc ;) IJA (talk) 11:59, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

new ideas
International call ups. The Bristol City version of our article has a section [see here]. LJF and with the possibility of Ched playing for Wales again and some of the Younger lads getting Under 18-21 call ups too. Another idea is a contract extension table. With four announced yesterday and with Harry signing one earlier in the season and with the possibility of Beattie signing an extension. Your thoughts? IJA (talk) 13:39, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- I really don't know why Ched has been credited the second goal today. Williamson got the last touch. I was right behind then net, I saw it with my own eyes. Ched just crossed it in. Confusing IJA (talk) 20:06, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yeh there is no point discussing anything because they're always right and I'm always wrong apparently. I'm dyslexic and I got given a screen reader when I was at uni to help with my essays. I've tried it out and it works perfectly. So I don't so where the issue is. And now I'm getting into shit for moving "Mervan Celik" to "Mervan Çelik" without doing the whole official WP:RM procedure/ ceremony/ ritual.
- In other news, we need to look into Under x national team appearances for Blades youth team as some Irish Under 16 have been playing and getting goals too. We need to make some updates. IJA (talk) 19:09, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- That is why I never joined the wikiproject because it is known for being full of rude arrogant %&@$s who will shoot you down instantly for challenging their establishment, because their word is final on all matters. Their attitude stinks and you won't find a project like that elsewhere on wikipedia. It is a shame because that is the project I should be associated with most. I feel like replacing the project with WP:DONTBEADICK haha. I'm just going to be sensible and ignore in future rather than rattle their cage. Found anything for Ireland Under 16 yet? Connor Dimaio is his name. IJA (talk) 19:34, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Cresswell has made exactly 100 appearances for the Blades in all competitions. [3] Birmingham on Sat will be game 101 if he plays. IJA (talk) 19:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Several players are soon to hot the 100 mark, Ched in a few games IJA (talk) 23:47, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Cresswell has made exactly 100 appearances for the Blades in all competitions. [3] Birmingham on Sat will be game 101 if he plays. IJA (talk) 19:52, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

List of Blades players
I have not been able to update the table as I don't have all the statistics which you have in that book. I was gonna buy it but it cost £45, so I thought fuck that. Any way I've added some more images to the article. Later today I'm gonna crop some of the longer rectangular images to just show the waist up so we can have more images. I'll do it this afternoon at some point. IJA (talk) 12:30, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yeh £45 on ebay. Probably cheaper in Blades superstore. Anyway I've asked the uploader about the Dodds image and I've cropped the images of Cressy, Monty and Quinny. Think you could crop Bobby Barclay and Jimmy Dunne please? I get confused when I don't understand the licence fully haha. IJA (talk) 16:07, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
- I really did bugger things up with this edit [4] All I intended to do was sort out the Dodds image, Gods knows how the rest of that happened. IJA (talk) 16:43, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- Transfers In. We should perhaps mention how long they signed for, so Marcus Williams signed for 2 years and 6 months (I think) and we should extend the table to show that information. Can you do that mate? IJA (talk) 13:17, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

List of Sheffield United players
Hi, you've done a very good job with this article but I wonder if there's a benefit in reducing the number of citations, given that so many are from the same source. Also, the player photos are overlapping the notes column when I view it. Regards. Eldumpo (talk) 23:21, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Has he been allocated squad number 7? He trains with the shirt number 31 as seen here. David Weir trains with squad number 7 as seen here. Come Saturday, Hoslkins may be seen with the number 7 shirt but has this been confirmed yet? IJA (talk) 17:58, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Hallo, when you create an article like T.B.A. Clarke, could you please put the {{stub}} tag at the end, after everything except inter-language links (see WP:ORDER). It makes life easier for stub-sorters who then don't have to move it, just expand it.
Even better, if you're creating a series of similar articles, perhaps you could add {{England-footy-bio-stub}} yourself (in the right place), and save us the work! PamD 16:06, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 28
Hi. When you recently edited 1891–92 Sheffield United F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Calder (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Update for: WikiProject Good articles (Participant Clean-Up)
Sorry for having to send out a second message but a user has brought to my attention that a point mentioned in the first message should be clarified. If user's don't sign on this page, they will be moved to an "Inactive Participants" list rather then be being removed from the entire WikiProject. Sorry for any confusion.--Dom497 (talk)15:12, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Nominating Sheffield United F.C. for G.A
Hi! First of all, sorry about being so inactive all summer, haven't been able to edit the page as I much as I would of liked. I've just read over the SUFC article again, and i'm thinking we should just nominate it for good article status as it is. I admit there is still a couple of small problems with it, but it's in a much better condition than it was at the beginning of the year and I reckon it has a good chance of getting approved. Or thinking about it another way, if it doesn't, then at least we'd know exactly where to improve :)
Thanks --SUFC Boy 16:20, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Having got a new job in the latter part of the summer I've not had as much time to edit WP as previously either. In terms of the main club article I don't think it will pass at the moment, critically due to the lack of citations in the history, kit and ground sections - in fact someone has just tagged it up as such. As It's such a big task I've sort of drifted away from that and concentrated on other articles instead and managed to get a few promoted to GA or FL - have a look at the front page of the United task-force for the current state of play in terms of GA. I'll happily pitch in if you want to collaborate and share out the work of citing the main article, time permitting, and there's a bunch of other Blades articles that I reckon could be GA with a bit of work that we could work on too.
