Fair use images and userboxes

[edit]

Hello Blackrash. I've removed several fair use images from your userpage and from Template:User NHS student, User:Cyrax fan, and User:Kombat Konquering Klub, and tagged the last two for speedy deleion under CSD U2. If you would like to create any more userboxes, please make them subpages of your userpage, so they display are at pages such as User:Blackkrash/Userbox. Fair use images, meanwhile, aren't allowed for use outside of article space. Thanks for understanding. Picaroon 18:12, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thankyou, Picaroon, although I have picked out these "mistakes" with what you are saying.

1. My name is written Blackkrash, double K. I know it's trivial, but I would've hoped having a massive section delagated to it on my user page that you just spent, carefully editing, would get the message forwards.

2. I understand you saying about fair use images, but saying about this FIRST, is only good form.

3. I have edited my user page, deleting two of the "bad" boxes, but see no reason not to use the Nottingham High School user box I made, as I do have a major part of the school, would you say Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn't make a box with his face on it???

4. There is nothing wrong with the Cyrax image on my front page. It is not infringing on copywrite, if it is used elsewhere on Wikipedia, it is surely availible for use here too?

Finally, I must say, don't edit my use page, for any reason without my permission! It isn't your place, it isn't your page, it isn't your business.

Sorry to appear harsh, but I do not think there is any other way to get the message forward. Thanks, Blackkrash.

Copyrighted Images

[edit]

Hi Blackkrash,

I'm afraid that Picaroon is quite correct - the Cyrax image on your user page will need to be removed as it is a breach of Wiki's Fair Use guidelines to feature the image other than to illustrate an appropriate article. It's also worth noting that first, it is not necessary to inform users in advance that they are in breach of fair use copyright, as a copyright violation is in itself grounds for Speedy Deletion (see WP:COPYVIO) and secondly, that absolutely anyone may edit any page on Wikipedia, expect for special protected pages, including individual user pages. It's just the way that Wikipedia works, I hope you understand.

As you prefer to do this yourself, perhaps you would prefer to remove the copyright infringing image yourself? Many thanks StuartDouglas 14:20, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP Christianity

[edit]

Hi, I saw your name on the WikiProject Christianity Membership page.

I've made some changes to the WP Christianity main project page, added several sup-project pages, created a few task forces section, and proposed several more possible changes so that we can really start making some serious progress on the project. Please stop by and see my comments on the project talk page here and consider joining a task force or helping out with improving and contributing to our sub-projects. Thanks for your time! Hello Blackkrash, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:NHSBold.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Blackkrash. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
