Conflict of interest

[edit]

I saw your note on the Teahouse about unpublished mathematical discoveries.

Wikipedia is NOT a place to write original research.

Also, if you are part of the team that made or researched this discovery, you are considered to have a conflict of interest and should not write about it directly, at least not in the "main encyclopedia." Depending on your present or future employment situations, WP:Paid-contributions disclosure might also apply to you.

You can use the articles for creation process to submit a draft, but only if the topic itself is "notable." See WP:Your first article for help on what that means. If an article already exists on the topic, you can use Template:Requested edit to suggest a change to an article in which you have a "conflict of interest."

You might want to ask math-related questions on the talk page of WP:WikiProject Mathematics. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:00, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
