September 2020

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Garhwali language, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Most of your changes have no references, if you wish to continue with them, I suggest you follow WP:BRD which is the proper procedure for a content dispute rather than putting your version back again. noq (talk) 06:40, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sir/madam, in response to your request, I have reverted to the earlier version however, keeping in mind your suggestions, unnecessary commentary has been removed. Secondly, usage of Takri script along with devanagari script has been well supported buly various citations and research articles. Mind you that I myself hail from the state and hence I make sure that whatever goes through my end is well backed with the knowledge and information passed onto me by the elders of the family. Thanks. Binsarhills (talk) 16:51, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would be highly obliged if you would let me know what else requires further documentation. Binsarhills (talk) 16:52, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would also like to know that what compelled you to misdirected the users from the page I created specifically for bangani dialect to the page created specifically for garhwali language Binsarhills (talk) 16:54, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anticipating a reply. Binsarhills (talk) 21:36, 12 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bangani

[edit]

Hi - the article you wrote there (with what appears to be a deceptive edit summary - it wasn't a spelling correction) has no reliable sources (see WP:UGC), and uses entirely inappropriate POV language such as ascribing ignorance to the local government. If you want to write up a proper article, which is referenced to multiple reliable sources, be my guest, but don't reinstate that previous version. Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 12:33, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again - I've just noticed the comments in the section above this one, and thought I'd explain a bit further. You may with to review Verifiability, one of our core policies, and Reliable sources, a set of guidelines which support it. Basically, editors should not rely on their own personal knowledge and experience when writing, they should only add content that is based on reliable published sources to that our readers can verify the assertions. It doesn't matter how knowledgeable you are, or how confident you are that what you are asserting is true - that isn't verifiable. Since we do not ask our editors to prove who they are, any of us could claim to be anything: I could put a note on my userpage claiming to have a PhD and twelve years experience of academic research into astrophysics, then start adding unsourced content to articles about space - but people would quiet correctly revert my additions, because they are unsourced. They would not know, or care, that the assertions on my userpage were complete lies, becuase it doesn't matter what my experience and background are - what matters is whether the content we add to articles is reliably sourced. So, in short, please do not add anything to our articles based on what you know about a place from having lived there, or on what the elders in your family have told you about it - only add content that you can support by reference to published sources that other people can check. I hope that makes sense. GirthSummit (blether) 14:02, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, as I have previously stated, all the information put forward by me has been backed with sufficient proofs which include several research articles and appropriate citations. What I said about my ethinicicity was just like the cherry on top of the cake. I think that you must have misunderstood. Please let me know aid you find anything else inappropriate. Critisism is always welcome Binsarhills (talk) 16:25, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Since I am new to the platform, I would highly appreciate if you could guide me. Binsarhills (talk) 16:28, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Binsarhills, the article, in the state it was in when I redirected it, had zero reliable sources. You need to provide citations within the article so that others can see where the information is coming from. Best GirthSummit (blether) 21:04, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GirthSummit, somone else has now created a new page for Bangani. You may review it if you want. It seems convincing to me. Binsarhills (talk) 18:56, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Binsarhills, I know - if you look at the article talk page, you'll see me discussing it with the person who created it. I have no problem with there being an article on the subject, it just needs to be neutrally written, and properly sourced, which this new one is. GirthSummit (blether) 06:47, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, you might find WP:THREAD and WP:PING useful. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 06:48, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Harul moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Harul, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kumaoni language, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kumaoni. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
