Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Beyawnd8. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Cori Schumacher, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 15:34, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- You need to refrain from editing Cori Schumacher directly. You are already familiar with how to use the article talk page, as well as other options when needed (like WP:BLPN). Other editors can review your suggestions there and implement them if they agree. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 15:36, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Beyawnd8, I responded on the article's talk page but you do need to declare your COI (see WP:COIDECLARE). I suggest doing it both on your Use page and the article's talk page given your history. If you need help, just let me know. S0091 (talk) 14:50, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- I'm the third editor to agree here that you need to check out of the article. You don't contribute to Wikipedia other than about yourself. If you edit your WP:AUTO again, it'll be WP:COIN. If you enlist others or engage in socking, expect other fora. Please let go now. JFHJr (㊟) 03:53, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
- Done. Thank you for the feedback. Beyawnd8 (talk) 06:33, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
