Image copyright problem with Image:Holmdelhs.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Holmdelhs.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 19:09, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Dandelion (art)
[edit]I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Dandelion (art), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Dandelion (art). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]Image:Dandelionart.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Dandelionart.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. — MECU≈talk 22:48, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
You have removed data from this article, claiming that "you can't single out one student for his accomplishments when other students have accomplished many things also." Mr. Lin seems to have won a major global award that seems rather worthy of mention, and is detailed in the provided source, as required by Wikipedia policy. I am sure there are other worthy students, and I encourage you to include details of their accomplishments accompanied by appropriate sources. I am even more baffled by your removal of the address, phone number and web site of the school, which is all rather public information taken straight off of the school's web site. All of this information will be reinserted into the article. Alansohn 16:14, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your concern about our high school, but since you're not a resident of Holmdel, we (students at the school) feel that we only should be responsible for the changes on the website. Thank you. —Beta.s2ph 11:17, 29 December 2006
- I'm still not sure if this is serious, but either way, there is no residency requirement for Wikipedia edits, and it's not clear who this "we" is that feels "that we only should be responsible for the changes on the website" or how you were designated as their representative. Wikipedia is a cooperative effort, and as every edit page states, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it." I look forward to working together, with you and all other editors, in further improving this article. Alansohn 16:20, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
The file File:Originaldandelion.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused image, no context to determine possible future use.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 21:27, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
