Typhoon wind values
[edit]The original values from the JMA and JTWC are given in knots in multiples of 5, which are then converted to mph and km/h. For example, 155 knots would convert to 178.37 ≈ 180 mph and 287.06 ≈ 285 km/h. This is why sometimes the conversions don't always match up – because we aren't converting directly from mph to km/h or vice versa. ~ KN2731 {talk · contribs} 07:12, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- I have had to clean up multiple other edits of yours that suggest you have not read the above; ignoring it is prohibited. Please also note that the regional specialized meteorological center of the basin, which has official warning responsibility, does not use the title “super typhoon”, and this we do not either when referring to storms with international names.—Jasper Deng (talk) 12:29, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
- This is the third time you are being told to adhere to project consensus about conversions, because you once again violated them here. Please stop introducing incorrect conversions.--Jasper Deng (talk) 20:28, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- KN2731 (talk · contribs) and I have reverted yet more of your edits for not only going against project consensus but also introducing outright incorrect information contrary to the agencies' estimates. This pattern of you making these edits and not listening is, once again, prohibited (WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT) and if you continue, you will likely be blocked from making further edits. We never want it to come down to that but this is simply getting ridiculous. Please reply here before making any further edits; this is basically your final warning.--Jasper Deng (talk) 10:57, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, because you have not responded to any of our attempts at communicating with you, I have opened a request for you to be blocked from editing at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Bestchest160713 and WP:IDHT. This is primarily because communication is required for participation on a collaborative project like this.--Jasper Deng (talk) 06:05, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Warning
[edit]Collaboration is required at Wikipedia. It's possible that you have not seen the messages on this page (WP:THEYCANTHEARYOU) but unfortunately I will have to block your ability to edit articles unless you respond to the comments above. Your options are to understand and accept what is being said, and not repeat challenged edits, or to politely engage by adding replies above where you justify your edits. Questions can be asked at WP:Teahouse (general questions) or at WT:WEATHER (questions related to how weather articles are written). Johnuniq (talk) 07:15, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

. Johnuniq (talk) 08:35, 11 July 2023 (UTC)It is clear that you started editing as Ilovetyphoons160713 (talk · contribs) after my warning above. The warning resulted from a report at ANI in May 2023 regarding unexplained, unsourced and incorrect changes in typhoon articles and you have accordingly been blocked.
