Re: Stian Barsnes Simonsen

Re your message: There is very little to restore. At the time of deletion, there was only an Infobox for musical artists that was half filled out. I would recommend recreating the article from scratch instead of using the restored article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:29, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Re your message: There is very little there to use. This was the entire contents:
{{Infobox musical artist 2
|Name = Stian Barsnes Simonsen
|Img = Stian Barsnes Simonsen - Amigo.jpg
|Img_capt = {{Unicode|Stian on the norwegian game show cald ''[[Amigo (show)|Amigo]].}}
|Background = host
|Birth_name =  Stian Barsnes Simonsen
|Born = [[?]], [[?]]
|Genre = [[Children's host|Host]]
|Occupation = [[singer]]
|Years_active = ??? – present
|Label =
}}

== Biography ==

As you can see, there is not much to start with. That particular template has been deprecated and is probably not the correct one to use if he is a game show host, not a musical artist. As far as I can tell, the image was never uploaded. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:46, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I've reverted your edit to Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 because you took the information out and made a redirect to itself, so the data you took out was lost. AnyPerson (talk) 03:03, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

That works.  :) AnyPerson (talk) 03:08, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

We have decided as a group to leave national finals on the year page. Even if you wanted to give it its own page, the bulk would still be needed on the country page, do not just put a link, it ruins the purpose of the country page. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 03:25, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
I feel that with the more established yearly finals with a name, like melodi grand prix, I am giving in to them having their own pages where in depth detail would be warranted, but at the same time there needs to be enough info on the country year page to make it a "good read"; a link wouldn't suffice, especially when we try to get them through GA as we have done with Greece for example. We haven't started discussing it since a few months back when we decided that the entire final/selection process should be on the country year page. It came down to a duplicated info problem. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 03:45, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Also, please don't make cut and paste moves, as this splits the edit history which is problematic for copyright reasons. Use the "Move" button so the edit history will re-locate with a move. Camaron | Chris (talk) 16:50, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

No, don't use move cause its not the right situation for that! You only wanted to move a chunk, not the whole page. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 16:53, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Yes I have just worked that out before your correction Stephan. I thought Bensin was trying to re-locate the entire page. What I said was true but irrelevant. Anyway, when splitting pages use WP:SUMMARY to help. Camaron | Chris (talk) 16:59, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Aimee Mullins

You recently added a call for clarification to the Aimee Mullins article. I'm not sure what you need clarified; they are hand-carved wood legs, made of ash. There is nothing obviously needing clarification, and you made no note on the talk page about your issue with that. 3 words further, the footnote links to a video where she displays them and discusses them.

So. What needs clarifying, in your mind? The info is cited, and the video is clear. --Thespian (talk) 13:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Man in the Moon (song)

I have nominated Man in the Moon (song), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Man in the Moon (song). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Seegoon (talk) 23:31, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Merger discussion for Chili manzanar alto

I have recommended an article you created, Chili manzanar alto, be merged into Garden strawberry. This is due to the fact that I can find no mention of this type of strawberry, which I'm assuming is a cultivar. I can find research regarding white strawberries being less allergenic than red ones, but the cultivar mentions is not this one. I just wanted to give you a heads up. The discussion is at: Talk:Garden strawberry#Merger proposal for Chili manzanar alto Jo7hs2 (talk) 23:05, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi Bensin. I just read your question from Jan 2008 about a Third Quest in the original Zelda game. I verified your source and was surprised to see that you were right. The publication does suggest that there is a Third Quest after the Second Quest. Unfortunately I have been unable to track down the next 2 issues of NV, but I was wondering if you had access to them. If so, do you see any reference to the Third Quest again? I wonder if they retracted their statement as an error. Cheers, -Thibbs (talk) 01:12, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Annex (building)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Annex (building), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

no content beyond the dic def which is already included in the Annex dab page (from which this stub is not linked!) - and one example which is not an annexe but the roofing-over of the central core of the building. This stub does not contribute to understanding of the term.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. PamD (talk) 10:16, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Tova Magnusson-Norling requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. CfD nomination of Category:Rafting films

I have nominated Category:Rafting films (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for renaming to Category:Boating films (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 03:53, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Just a quick request

When tagging films in the future, could you use {{Film}} instead of {{FilmsWikiProject}}? Also, the project doesn't use the importance parameter, so it might save you some time to omit it entirely. Many thanks! Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 17:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Love Island (1952 film)

The article Love Island (1952 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not clear how this might meet WP:NFILMS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 14:23, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Sailing films

Hi! You requested the move of Category:Sailing films at Wikipedia:Requested moves (by adding {{subst:move}} to the talk page). Category renames are not handled on that page (see Wikipedia:Requested moves#Processes beyond the scope of this page), and I've moved the request to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion instead. The category's entry is here. I also took the liberty of copying the existing comments there. Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 07:04, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Navy Born, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0028023. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:46, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Aswered here. --Bensin (talk) 20:55, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

I would suggest that you actually read the section on Copyright on the page. The film is still in copyright in its country of origin (i.e. the UK). As a non-US films, its copyright was reinstated under GATT, meaning that at the very least the claims that it is "public domain" are disputed. Nick Cooper (talk) 14:42, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I am not arguing that the film is in PD worldwide. But I do believe it is PD in the US and therefore legally distributed from the Internet Archive. I do, however, also think that WP:ELNEVER is not clear enough on this subject (and similar cases). I therefore asked for a clarification of the guideline here. Please add a comment there. --Bensin (talk) 00:30, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know! I will argue for notability on the article's talk page. --Bensin (talk) 20:25, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

I am not sure if you were aware, but a number of films you posted links to on archive.org are fully protected by copyright, and not in the public domain. I went ahead and deleted these links. Thank you. (75.69.241.91 (talk) 10:08, 25 December 2009 (UTC))

OK. Thanks for letting me know! --Bensin (talk) 14:49, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

I think you are mistaken, but please show me if I'm wrong. The page was prodded at 14:45, 6 December 2009, and at 16:47, 6 December 2009, you expanded the article. However, there was no indication of the prod being contested on the page or the talk page, the template was never removed, and there is no "other user" that you referred to. I believe you mistook the restoring admin's removal of the template at 14:55, 26 December 2009 to be the contest, but that was 13 days after I deleted it at 19:07, 13 December 2009. Please let me know what I missed for the future. Thanks, MrKIA11 (talk) 16:04, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
