abitrtion
[edit]Your edits and name have come up in an active arbitrtion case. See: [[1]] regardng your template. DPetersontalk
- You would do better putting your comment on the evidence page, I think, than on the talk page. Incorrect information should be cited and corrected on the evidence page is my understanding. DPetersontalk 23:25, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Your edit/deletion to the page: [[2]] was restored. The proper form would be for you to enter a separate evidence section to dispute the accusation. In arbitration one is not allowed to edit or change another's "evidence." RalphLendertalk 16:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
I am new to Wikipedia. I looked up BFNC on wikipedia to see what information was entered on this site. I added information to the page. I have 3 children with BFNC with Myokymia and a large family history on my husband's side. I added that our Neurologist at Hasbro in RI has utilized additional potassium in the diet to control the seiuzres as well as the myokymia. I'm not sure as I was lookingat all the 'rules' about unverifiable content etc if this was okay to add but I saw that you were a contributor to the page so I figured you'd know. It's 1 AM here and my son just had an attack of the myokymia (hence why I'm awake at this hour). We treated with banana and gatorade and now he's resting (he is 3- going to be 4) Anyway- you seem to have good medical knowledge perhaps you are a doctor or something. I have not created an account so you may email me at: alliegillies@yahoo.com with any questions, information etc. Thank you- Allie Gillies —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.162.82.41 (talk)

Conversion therapy
[edit]Beno1000, I note that you recently edited the article on conversion therapy so that the first line reads, 'Conversion therapy (sometimes called sexual reorientation therapy or reparative therapy) refers to methods aimed at changing gay, lesbian, and bisexual people's sexual orientations to heterosexual, or at eliminating or diminishing same-sex desires and behaviors. '
This is misleading. Reparative therapy is one particular form of conversion therapy; it shouldn't be used as a synonym for conversion therapy in general. As you changed the article to say this, I think you should either change it right back, or else add a note explaining that using 'reparative therapy' as a term for conversion therapy generally is in fact wrong (You could re-write it so that it says, 'Conversion therapy is sometimes called reparative therapy, especially by people who don't know what they're talking about' ... but that's just a suggestion). Unspecified source for Image:BlackFox.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BlackFox.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:30, 23 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 05:30, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I note you have edited this section…
[edit]The article on Epilepsy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seizure_disorder#Seizure_syndromes, makes interesting reference to the Herpes simplex virus being associated with temporal lobe epilepsy, yet has no supporting reference! Do you know how to discover more about this?
Here is a clip-quote of this section: "there is an association with febrile seizures in childhood, and some studies have shown herpes simplex virus (HSV) DNA in these regions, suggesting perhaps infectious etiology."
I am a new user, so not entirely familiar with using Wikipedia talk pages. I also suffer from seizures, so have personal interest in this subject. Chich (talk) 10:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi Beno; the information you added to hippocampus is correct, I believe, but sketchy and unsourced. If you think some information belongs in an article but you don't have the time or knowledge to write it correctly, would you please try raising the topic on the article's talk page first, instead of directly editing the article? Best wishes, Looie496 (talk) 00:53, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Translation request
[edit]Hi Beno1000! Would you be so kind to help me create an article about Confucius in Zulu Wikipedia? It's about a Chinese philosopher and is listed as one of the articles every Wikipedia should have. If you think that article is too long, here is a short version: "Confucius was a Chinese thinker and social philosopher, whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese thought and life. His philosophy emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity." I learned from your user page that you are a native zulu speaker. I hope, you could help me. Thanks, and best regards:)--Amaqqut (talk) 14:51, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit]You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:10, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Happy First Edit Day
[edit]Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
