Hi. I'd like to nominate you as an admin, as I think you're qualified. Let me know if you're interested. Epbr123 12:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
The Torch, St. John's University
Howdy... You've helped me out before so I'm going to randomly solicit you for more help. :-) What should we do with the The Torch, St. John's University article. It is not "pure vandalism" (so I didn't feel I could use the CSD tag of the same name), but it is certainly been put up there for the amusement of some folks who have worked on that student paper. Thanks for your advice. — Noah 07:42, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, don't worry about it... someone has hopped on the page and started to deal with the photoshopped images which was the largest problem. — Noah 06:34, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

LOTD experiment
You voted for one of my prior proposals to institute a List of the Day Proposal. I may have already alerted you to an experiment I am conducting at WP:LOTD. Now that the experiment is running I can point out the benefits to the project of the method I am experimenting with that other alternatives don't offer. First, there is a set of orphaned articles for persons who do not have any featured lists of their own or persons that would like to take responsibility for more. Anyone can nominate such orphans. This benefits WP by getting people involved in list articles that might not have active editors to update them or defend them against vandalism. Please consider adopting one of our orphans.
There are several other advantages that will improve the project:
- Each list will be encouraged to respond to commentary and feedback during the candidacy period, which will hopefully improve the quality of the articles.
- Articles without pictures will be encouraged to find them. E.g., List of Harry Potter films cast members had no image before its nominator added an image for this experiment. This type of thing, of course, improves the project.
- Articles are encouraged to add relevant projects to their talk page. This alerts other project to articles that they would likely have an interest in and would be able to either improve or protect.
Again come by and consider adopting one of our orphans this month or in future months either adopt an orphan or give feedback on the candidates.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:18, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. The bulk of my comments have been addressed and you've worked hard on this so I'll happily support. One of my objections to the text was the slightly clunky second paragraph of the intro. Perhaps something like this might work better?
- Natasha Lyonne stars as Megan Bloomfield, an apparently happily heterosexual high school cheerleader. The problem is that her friends and family are convinced she's gay and arrange an intervention, sending her to a reparative therapy camp to cure her lesbianism. At camp, Megan soon realizes that she is indeed a lesbian and, despite the therapy, gradually comes to embrace this fact. The supporting cast features Clea DuVall, Cathy Moriarty, RuPaul, Mink Stole and Bud Cort.
Changing this is not a condition for support, by the way, and I'll be editing my FAC comments shortly. All the best,--ROGER DAVIES talk 20:14, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Migrants' African routes
Dear Belovedfreak, thanks for your suggestion to improve Migrants' African routes with in-text citations. I simply translated the Italian page Rotte africane dei migranti, which hasn't been suggested in-text citations. I was wondering whether an English bibliography could be the right solution or if in-text citations are compulsory. Thanks for your help! --Silviavaiga (talk) 17:14, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
A Small Domain
Neither IMDb nor somebody's own website is a reliable source. Do you have any actual impartial sources to draw on? In its present form, the article is weak on credibility. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:38, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Dear Belovedfreak, I would be very pleased if you could suggest me any source for English quotes and if you could take care of them on the page I've translated (Migrants' African routes). Thanks so much. --Silviavaiga (talk) 16:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:WikiProject WikiAfrica Palabre
Dear Belovedfreak, I wondered whether you know how to remove the inactive tag from this page Wikipedia:WikiProject WikiAfrica Palabre. The activity has resumed, therefore there is no need in keeping the tag. I don't think I can remove it, not being an administrator. On the contrary, if I can, would you please tell me which is the right procedure? Thanks. --Silviavaiga (talk) 16:46, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

HK films
HI Beloved hope you are having a "freakin" good christmas. Yes i hadn't got around to indexing yet -the list has been split by year now and is undergoing full development like Hong Kong films of 1971 , Hong Kong films of 1972 etc. It will take some time to add all the titles, add all the details and begin articles on all the missing films and actors and indeed expand existing ones but this is now on the right track I think. I would be immensely grateful if you could check out the HKcinemagic webiste where there is a complete listing by year. I need help in adding the titles from here by year to the lists. If you click edit on one of the 80s, 90, or 2000s film year pages e.g Hong Kong films of 1990 see here you;ll see I have a large table ready for inserting the film titles into . What I need help in doing is adding the titles and director of the filmsfor example here into the tables on wikipedia. This way it sets up a good framework to get Hong Kong cinema fully covered on wikiepdia! HELPPP! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:03, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
Category:Television programs based on plays
The category is "Television programs" NOT "Television series". There is a distinct difference. Television films are television programs. MrBlondNYC (talk) 22:16, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. That is why I named it "programs" so it could include one-time specials, miniseries, and TV films as well as regular series. The Laramie Project was a TV film and it is in the category "American television films". The reason why Imdb doesn't list it as such is because it premiered in film festivals first and Imdb goes by the earliest premiere date. But it was made for HBO TV. Arnold Murray Article
You said the dispute is not resolved. Exactly what is the dispute? The user doing this, gutting the article, is gone and it is hard to have a dispute with myself.
The admin locked the gutted article on the main page, so, there is no dispute for that user.
This started 10 December 2007, three users started gutting the article. One of them also gutted the 'roy gillaspie' article down to one sentence because it relates to 'arnold murray' as well. Perhaps they can lock that one sentence version of that article too?
The admins have not done the right thing so far, only mindless things, so there is no point in having a dispute tag.Tss8071 (talk) 15:56, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- The points have been listed and I just finished listing them again. However, the only response is, 'that is propaganda to smear him'.
- At least cameron1 re-edited the article and took out the blatant POV stuff. I was very surprised at that.Tss8071 (talk) 21:28, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- So, the resolution is, from cameron1, the gutted article will unprotect in five days and if it is reverted back to the original, then the user doing the reverting could be banned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tss8071 (talk • contribs) 23:51, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- Got it now why wikipedia has trouble being considered legitimate? I did offer a solution to cameron1, ban me from editing and the dispute is resolved. Since he is mindlessly doing this, there is no point to it much more.Tss8071 (talk) 00:10, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are not reading what I wrote, the 'Arnold Murray' article is gutted of all negative content. For example, there is a video on google of him pulling out a handgun during a live broadcast, if it is mentioned, this user deletes it.
- So, what edits can be made exactly? The answer is nothing unless you want to say something like, 'not only is he great, he is really great'.
- The solution I offered to cameron1 is to ban me. Mindlessly doing this is a game. The game is is to pretend to go through a dispute process. What it really does though is legitimatize the vandalism.
- These users also gutted the 'roy gillaspie' article down to one sentence. He is mentioned on arnold murray's website. It seems the one sentence version should be locked as well based on cameron1's performance to date.
- The last point, which I hope you read, is the article was ungutted previous to 10 dec 2007. This sanitized version, which cameron1 locked is 1 month old.
- Banning me is the solution and the rest of you can pretend you followed a process but in fact legitimatized vandalism.Tss8071 (talk) 00:36, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Cameron1 has removed the lock on the article and the current version stays. By doing this, he has legitamized vandalism and the work of many people, which lasted a year, has been wiped out. That is the result of the dispute. BTW, whichever version is locked on the main page means everything since that is the version that stays.Tss8071 (talk) 12:57, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello, well, that did not last long, the same users went back and gutted the article. Cluebot caught some of it and reverted it but they went and changed it back again.Tss8071 (talk) 02:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

...for your support in my recently closed Request for Adminship. I am more than a bit stunned by the outcome, which appears to have finished at 146 supports, no opposes, and one abstention. I am particularly grateful to Keilana and Kingboyk for their recent encouragement, and most specifically to Pastordavid, for having seen fit to nominate me. I also want to make it very clear to everyone that I have no intentions of changing my name again, so the servers should be safe for a while.
In the event you ever believe that I would ever able to assist in the future, I would be honored if you were to contact me regarding the matter. I can't guarantee results, unfortunately, but I will do what I can. Thank you again.
By the way, I know the image isn't necessarily appropriate, but I am rather fond of it, and it at least reflects the degree of honor I feel at the result. And it's hard to go wrong with a Picture of the Year candidate.
Now, off to a few last tasks before starting work in earnest on the various templates I promised I'd work on.

Wee Sing in the Marvelous Musical Mansion
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wee Sing in the Marvelous Musical Mansion, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}

Africa Project
Feel free, following the parameters listed on the banner. Some of the assessment categories and pages for the individual nations and territories still have to be created, as there are a lot of them, but User:Blofeld of SPECTRE says he's working on those, and I can finish whichever aren't created by him today on my own tomorrow. Right now, I'm updating the Chad banner, which didn't have prior assessments, but I think we can all use as much help as we can get. John Carter (talk) 20:25, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

My RfA
Hey there, I'm writing to inform you that I have withdrawn my request for adminship, which was currently standing at 11 supports, 22 opposes and 6 neutrals. This count could have been so much better if I had understood policy, although I believe that 17 questions is a lot to ask of a user's first RfA. I will take on all comments given at the RfA and will endeavour to meet the high expectations of the RfA voters. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDEN play it cool. 21:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your support, my request for adminship passed 60/0/0 on Monday!
I want to thank Mrs.EasterBunny and Royalbroil for nominating me, those who updated the RfA tally, and everyone for their support and many kind words. To paraphrase a president ... I wish my mum and dad could see the comments made. My dad would be so proud to see the comments ... and my mum would have believed them". I will do my best to use the new tools carefully and responsibly (and you may be surprised to find that I have not deleted all of the pages by accident..... yet). Re: Image edits - a question
Hi Melesse, I've often noticed you editing imsges I've uploaded. I know you do a really good job reducing image sizes etc. In fact, seeing you reduce images has reminded me to try & upload smaller images in the first place. I'm curious though, I can't always tell what you've done. For example, what have you done in this edit? Anyway, keep up the good work, --Beloved Freak 10:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- I mostly check on images in Category:Non-free images with red backlink and that's how I find yours. For some reason sometimes there are images in there that don't have any mistake in them, but when I copy and paste the name and myself it takes them out even though I haven't really changed anything. I really don't know why :S Melesse (talk) 02:46, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

re: Stiff Upper Lips
Just curious - Stiff Upper Lips has the LGBT template, but isn't in any LGBT cats. It has an LGBT storyline, but I'm not sure if it's a significant part of the movie. Your thoughts? Should it go in the Category:LGBT-related films? Or should the project tag come off? -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 02:58, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not too sure myself. I would agree that it's probably not a significant part of the film, but then there are probably many films currently in Category:LGBT-related films which maybe shouldn't be. It's sometimes hard to judge what makes a LGBT-film. Perhaps we should try & sort out some firmer criteria for inclusion in the project. I'm currently trying to revamp the film list in my sandbox, and there are similar problems there. Ultimately I intend to add notes to the list explaining what makes each film LGBT-related with sources, but it's often hard to tell which films should be there and which shouldn't. So, short answer: I'm not 100% sure either way, but I would remove the project tag if I were you. --Beloved Freak 20:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

- Ha, yeah well, we'll see what I can come up with. Once I've finished cleaning up the list, I'll probably take it to WT:LGBT and see what people think. --Beloved Freak 22:11, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Belovedfreak! I'm posting this message to you and Benjiboi. Both of you !voted "keep" for Gay Blackpool, which confuses me.
