you must be a super fan!

saw your work on musician page aiden james. u must be a fan! just wanna be sure these edits aren't an attack on this popular gay musician. seems he's been the target of some online content deletion - including his photo here by bots, which i saw was for fair and free use on web linked artist page with meta data. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neskolka (talkcontribs) 13:22, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:00, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi Bearcat. I came across this band article while going through old stubs. Each of the albums of this band has its own article with very little in the way of sources. I was going to redirect them to the band article, but it is also poorly sourced. Since the band members seem to be well known, maybe the reason I can't find sources is because the band name is a poor one for searching on Google or in newspapers or magazines. Do you have any ideas for how to find sources for a band with such a bland name? Maybe there aren't any.—Anne Delong (talk) 01:14, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Your recent point

I was intrigued by a recent comment of yours at ANI, which was a recapitulation of a point you made here. I see that you are leaning on the word "relevant" in WP:PUBLICFIGURE. I wonder if you've ever written up your thoughts as an essay?

The relevance is that I'm working on a potentially tricky edit request here. I removed a sentence talking about a situation where one party claimed certain expenses were inappropriate while the other party claimed they were, mainly based on the argument that such situations are too common to deserve inclusion unless there is a lot more to it than partisan bickering. If I get lucky, it will end there, but is a chance someone will come back and insist on including it "because it can be sourced", and I want to be prepared to address that argument.--S Philbrick(Talk) 21:29, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

22:38:22, 23 October 2017 review of submission by JSSanders

@Bearcat: Hi Bearcat! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know what some of the issues are, regarding the Lacey Sculls wikipedia page. I truly appreciate your assistance. :-) In response to your comment: "I also note that you have declared yourself in past edit summaries as Lacey's personal assistant" .....this is true that I WAS Lacey Sculls' assistant. However, I stopped working for her about a year ago due to scheduling conflicts, and I am simply a fan now. That said, I am, very much, a fan of hers. I was also using her wikipedia page as a learning curve so that I can gain education and a little experience, so that I can *hopefully* become a better editor and have the ability to contribute to other wikipedia pages as well, in the future.

Also, just to shed some light on the Lacey Sculls wikipedia page situation....I was not the original publisher of Lacey Sculls' wikipedia page. It existed long before I came along or ever made any edits to it. Also, when you wrote, "it has to meet our standards of notability and sourceability, not standards of Lacey's own personal choice"....with all due respect, this is not Lacey Sculls' doing. To reiterate, I am simply a fan of hers. And again, others have contributed to her page too, during the first year that it existed on wikipedia (before I came along). And lastly, you wrote that "quality of sources is more important than quantity -- one good source can count for more..." and you also stated that the sources that I listed were not good quality, or they only "mentioned" Lacey Sculls. I truly appreciate your feedback on this, and for your help it giving me better insight into how to become a better editor for wikipedia. With all due respect, several sources that I listed DID do entire features on Lacey Sculls - not just "mentions". And these are creditable sources. (1) The Dallas Observer, (2) Chicago Music Guide (3) Vh1 (4) Cleveland Pride.org (5) The Herald, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, (6) Thrillist, and (7) Blabbermouth are all reputable newspapers and/or publications that have been in existence for well over a decade, and all have done full articles or write-ups on Lacey Sculls (formerly Lacey Conner) - not just "mentions". These 7 sources that I mentioned specifically, are also not bloggers. That said, should I delete the sources that are not considered to be "good" sources? (For instance, you mentioned Buddy TV as not be a reliable source - I can delete that one, as well as some of the others that you mentioned.) Would that help? Lacey Sculls was a primary character on one of the highest rated TV shows in Vh1 history, she has been the lead singer for multiple prominent bands, and is listed on at least 4 other wikipedia pages for her contributions to entertainment, music, and animal welfare & legislation. I've seen many wikipedia pages of people who worked alongside Lacey Sculls in bands or in television, who ARE allowed to have a wikipedia page. As a fan of hers, this confuses me. That said, I truly appreciate your time, assistance, and consideration. I hope I can bring this page to a place that you find suitable for wikipedia, and again, I appreciate your feedback which in turn helps me to become a better wikipedia editor. :-) Take care. Sincerely, JSSanders JSSanders (talk) 22:38, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Radio stations/Canadian Communications Foundation

Hey Bearcat, longtime! I had noticed that the Canadian Communications Foundation website had gone through some upgrades recently and most radio station Wikipedia articles across Canada have the the CCF link under external links and if you click on the link under say, "CBO-FM", it would say "Page Not Found" but has a search engine. If you look for CBO-FM or any other radio station in Canada, in the CCF search engine, the history of the radiostation(s) search results comes up and just click on the link. I know it's going to be a long tedious job to correct all the CCF links in all the radio station Wikipedia articles but is there away that you or I can correct all the links at once instead of doing it to every individual radio station article? Thanks! Webfan (talk) 21:30, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

Canada Radio Stations

Hey Bearcat, I did a scan and dumped the list at User:Nihlus/sandbox 2. Are the AM stations the ones that don't include FM or have (AM) in the title? Also, there are some (i.e. CKC455) that don't conform to any pattern I could find on their website. Any ideas? Nihlus 23:23, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

It's created at {{History of Canadian Broadcasting}}. I am sure there are some cases out there that might require more attention or editing to the template. Let me know if you come across any. One we have it set, I can submit a BRFA for the bot run. Nihlus 23:55, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
See my bot request here. I also split the pages into Radio, Television, and Manual in my sandbox. Nihlus 21:16, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Canadian TV viewership/ratings

Hi there. I was wondering if you know of any sites that will have Canadian TV viewership/ratings, specifically for Bad Blood (miniseries) now that it’s ended. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:15, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi again. I found this from National Post about the viewership for Bad Blood in "week 1" and "week 2". They say it got 209,000 views in its first week, "however, saw the premiere receive a 31 per cent lift in total audience once ratings gathered over a seven day period were added." (~274,000). Which is the figure to include? Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 03:35, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

This article.

Hi, Bearcat,

I saw that you took this article to this AfD after repeated recreation and finally salted the title, it seems the guy just gamed the system and recreated it here Kabir Tanimu Turaki (SAN). The guy is notable per GNG and POLITICIAN but the promotional tone may make it require fundamental rewrite. You may take look at it  — Ammarpad (talk) 17:55, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

New Mayor of Sherbrooke article

Bonjour Bearcat, could you create a new article about new mayor for yesterday's Quebec municipal elections. The following new mayor have been elected, first could you create the article titled Steve Lussier. Steve was elected as the new mayor of Sherbrooke, Quebec defeating Bernard Sévigny. And that is all, these are new respective mayor to be created. Steve Lussier for mayor of Sherbrooke, Quebec. These propose title to be created as an article. I hope the new mayor of Sherbrooke article will be created. I will look forward to your reply. Thanks and have a great day. 2001:569:7C0B:6100:B123:828C:E4C3:5B9E (talk) 06:37, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Missing New Quebec Mayors as new articles

Hello again, I almost forgot in addition to creating Steve Lussier article, could you create some articles about new Quebec mayors. I almost forgot about the new Quebec mayors. First could you create Doreen Assaad article. She is elected as the new mayor and the first female mayor of Brossard, Quebec defeating Paul Leduc. Second, the new mayor of Longueuil is too close to call between Sylvie Parent and Josée Latendresse. Whoever is the winner as mayor of Longueuil. Whoever wins mayor of Longueuil will be created as an article as soon as declared the winner. Thanks for your understanding. Talk to you later. 2001:569:7C0B:6100:B123:828C:E4C3:5B9E (talk) 07:46, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
