What was wrong with adding Trupanion as a pet insurance company to Pet Insurance? I've been researching companies and noticed that Wikipedia doesn't have any listed, so I was going to contribute.
Also, I noticed that on this page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_insurance_companies, there are some pet insurance companies listed, but the links didn't work. That is why I started to create the Trupanion page? --Bcopstead (talk) 20:57, 11 March 2010 (UTC) -->
- You added Trupanion to a general article on Pet Insurance which is considered to be advertising and contrary to Wikipedia guidelines. (Which is also why you didn't find any already there.) Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia, not a US business directory. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 21:16, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm new to this so I'm trying to learn how to do it correctly. So I will try to create a page for Trupanion similar to the ones for other corporations listed. --Bcopstead (talk) 21:51, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, that's exactly the right thing to do. If the company is considered notable enough it can have its own article. You can then list it. If you need any assistance please don't hesitate to contact me. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 22:03, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. I have created a work in progress page User:Bcopstead/Trupanion and am excited to learn more about writing and editing articles. --Bcopstead (talk) 23:58, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's already looking very good. If you haven't already read it this page may be of some help. ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 00:15, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
