Copyright problem: ARINC 825
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as ARINC 825, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.arinc825.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=29, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Talk:ARINC 825 and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name, ARINC 825, in your email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0, or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:ARINC 825 with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:ARINC 825. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:ARINC 825 saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Whpq (talk) 22:02, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
ARINC 825 content release
[edit]Hi. I saw you posted a message at Talk:ARINC 825 indicating the material is being released under an appropriate license. I've left a message there with instructions for how to officially designate this. In a nutshell, you need to follow Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 22:14, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi Whqp, thanks for the assistance. I have read that section but I am not sure what to do. Would it be OK if I place a message on my website www.arinc825.com saying that the use of its content is granted for Wikipedia and add a link to the ARINC 825 Wikipedia entry? Michael Stock (BavarianAviator (talk) 11:48, 27 January 2010 (UTC))
Things can be a little confusing! You have two choices:
- You can place an explicit release on your website (or specific web pages) that states "The text of this website (or page, if you are specifically releasing one section) is available for modification and reuse under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)."
- Send an email declaring that you are releasing the material under a Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0. See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries which includes a sample email. Then add {{OTRS pending}} the the article talk page to let others know that permisssion has been sent and is pending reviwe.
Personally, I'd recommend option 2 (email) as it provides a permanent record here at Wikipedia. I hope this helps. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 12:19, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again, Whpq. I followed you advice and sent the email. BavarianAviator (talk) 20:47, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm. I sent the email but nothing seems to happen. Is there anything else I have to do? Thanks for help, -- BavarianAviator (talk) 14:22, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- I suspect that they have queues of emails to go through. You don't need to do anything further at this point. The article won't be deleted as the OTRS pending notice shows that permission has been sent and is awaiting processing by the OTRS team. Once that's done, they'll log the permission on the article talk page, and the article will be back. -- Whpq (talk) 14:54, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I've been able to review your ticket, you have received a follow-up request for further clarification. Sorry for the delay. MLauba (talk) 10:59, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
