expand and stub

[edit]

Hi 2fort5er - thanks for your help in adding cleanup templates to articles, but one thing... please don't add stub and expand templates to the same article. {{expand}} is only supposed to be used once something is no longer a stub - a stub template is automatically a message asking for expansion (see {{expand/doc}}). Other than that, though, keep up the good work! :) Grutness...wha? 00:57, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The VG Barnstar
This barnstar is in recognition of your tireless disambiguations, redirects and other WikiGnome tasks on videogame articles. I mean, crikey, that's how many edits today already? :> Marasmusine (talk) 23:23, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm currently going through a list of old games to see if WP has articles on them. I intend in time to create some of the missing articles as well. 2fort5r (talk) 09:54, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Glider Rider (video game), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mobygames.com/game/glider-rider. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:43, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Professional Ski Simulator, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Professional Ski Simulator and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:35, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frankenstein (adventure game). I thought you may be interested in the WP:Article Rescue Squadron we help develop articles so they are not deleted.

Welcome to the Article Rescue Squad!

[edit]

Hi, 2fort5r, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome! -- Banjeboi 10:02, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated List of Windows games starting with A, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Windows games starting with A. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please note that the other articles for the other letters have been included in this nomination. While you are free to continue creating articles for the other letters, I'd appreciate it if you held off a few days so a concensus can be reached on the notability of these articles. Please visit the AFD page and share your thoughts on the articles.--RadioFan (talk) 20:59, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Virtual Pool (video game)

[edit]

For informational purposes: an editor has questioned whether Virtual Pool (video game), an article you created, ought to have its own article. The deletion has been contested (by me) on the grounds that the material appears to be, at least in part, verifiable; you may wish to see whether the article can be improved in a manner that will assert the topic's individual notability. Thank you. --Dominic Hardstaff (talk) 09:28, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change to Reversi/Othello

[edit]

There is going to be a major expansion to go with this changeover. How fast and how much I don't know yet. There is a fair amount out there. Games of the type will also be given their due. There's something of a global duopoly (Chess and Go) in this area that doesn't reflect the historical complexity and does a dis-service to the larger games (and those involved with them) as well.Julzes (talk) 15:01, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Aquanoid has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Very minor breakout game. I could not find any coverage in reliable sources. Delete per WP:GNG.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on The Running Man (video game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Bazonka (talk) 20:24, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Running RM PC-186 software

[edit]

Hi. On the RM Education Talk page you asked if anyone knows how to run software for the RM PC-186 on a modern PC. In the intervening 10 years you've probably worked it out or lost interest, but in case not: it's possible but not easy. You need runpc186.exe and to doctor it to remove the check for the 'Research Machines' string in the BIOS. Check out the YouTube video GDUILriZ6A4. Good luck, Guffydrawers (talk) 08:26, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:31, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Football Manager (1982 video game)

[edit]

Hello 2fort5r,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Football Manager (1982 video game), for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Football Manager (1982 series). Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
