Request reason:
Now yet another bloke ( DMacks) has come along and made more depressing comments about me. He wants some kind of evidence, as if my posts aren't enough. When will I get to the end of this progression of tyrants, and find a kind and (dare I say it) normal person? Anyway, DMacks has complained about alternate accounts, when the reason I have one is because this one is blocked! That's why I need it unblocked - so I can abandon the other one. So come on, I can accept the odd mistake (e.g. this one links back to ParrotOfDoom, who was wicked), but this is going way too far. Chop chop charlie. Let's get this show on the road. Unblock me, and we'll say no more about it. Thanks for all your help, you're a pal! Basingwerk (talk) 16:02, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:
I've lost track of why the block was put on this account. It may have been because I used the phrase "progression of tyrants" in relation to a user, or it may be because I used a "side account", called (perhaps) basingwerk2, not basingwerk. Anyway, it's been ten years, and I have no memory of the events other than what it says above. It's taken much of the pleasure out of Wikipedia for me, and prevented me from making progress with my research; for example, I want to write up an article on The Maen Achwyfan Cross, which deserves its own page. So, I ask again, for the removal of the block on this account.
Decline reason:
Request does not address the reason for the block. SQLQuery me! 19:41, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

Question It will be hard for any admin to address this request - we expect to see evidence that you understand the reason why you were blocked, and a credible undertaking that you won't repeat the same behaviour. If you can't remember why you were blocked, we can't fulfill either of those requirements. I see that you have made numerous appeals for unblock via the UTRS system - did you not receive any feedback from those, which might help you remember why you were blocked in the first place? - Scratch the above - I just checked your block log, and this is a checkuser block so I can't unblock your account regardless of what you say in an unblock request. If it helps jog your memory, your block was last updated in August 2018 for abuse of multiple accounts. GirthSummit (blether) 12:41, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- It's very hard to follow because you seem to continually remove declined unblock requests, and conversations, but it doesn't look as innocent as you claim. Immediately after you were blocked, you said
I don't care about whether it's justified or not, because that's just Nev1's opinion, which counts for nothing at all. But it's the childishness that makes me wonder. Ah well, I'll just use my next user name....

Request reason:
Hi there. With respect to: I'll just use my next user name
, thanks for bringing that up. It is very good evidence in my favour. In a decade, I have not used "my next user name" - it was, I think, basingwerk1, which is not very hard to detect. So, this is a strong indication. It counts for me, not against me. And that's the main issue. Please unblock me since I have not used "my next user name" (or any other user name) in a decade. And please let me know if you need any other information. Cheers. Basingwerk (talk) 10:51, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This is a checkuser block, which means that 1) only a checkuser can authorize its removal and 2) there is technical evidence to support the block(evidence to which even I am not privy). You seem to say that you haven't used other accounts, but the block was updated in August 2018, less than a decade ago. So you will need to address this for a checkuser to evaluate. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 11:32, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
