Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did. In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29 |

Thanks for your edits on Sweden at the 2008 Summer Olympics, most likely adapting the page to the style used at other nation's olympic pages. I've been doing most of the edits there since the olympics started, not really knowing what format to use, and have been trying to make it look okay, but mostly focusing on getting the results posted. Olympic heat ranks - overall or specific?
I have a question about this edit of yours, where you changed the athlete's rank from 68 to 6. While the athlete in question came 6th in that particular heat [1], she came 68th overall in the rankings for all the heats for that event [2]. Is there a Wiki guideline over which rank is preferable? I'm leaning towards the overall heat rank, but if we're using the specific heat rank, then Michael Koloyan's rank for the 100m freestyle swimming event in the article should also be changed, since he came 56th overall [3], but 2nd in his heat [4]. --Aramգուտանգ 04:36, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

This seems to be a mistaken revert. Thank you for pointing it out. I don't know how it happened but I'm not making any excuses. As you said, there is no vandalism in that edit. Estonia at 2008 Olympics
Please do not delete important data on article - final positions of the sportsmen and sportswomen. I consider this as a mini vandalism against the article. DNA is not an informative information on your version when there are final ranks n position results available! Other users havent approved your deletions as well. Armenia
Hello, I was wondering why you added a citation needed tag to the Armenia at the 2008 Summer Olympics article... a simple look at Armenia_at_the_Olympics#Medals_by_games and you'll see that the country has never won 6 medals. Thanks! - Fedayee (talk) 17:09, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- The citation at Armenia at the 2008 Summer Olympics is needed because although it correspods to the other armenia pages anyone could have changed them as well. I might know it to be true and you might know it to be true but wikipedia policy says it must be referenced. See WP:SOURCE. Thanks Basement12 (T.C) 17:13, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Additionally the performance at the 1996 Atlanta olympics may be considered better as a gold and silver were won. I will change the wording to say most successful in terms of number of medals, however a citation wil still be required. Basement12 (T.C) 17:17, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for making so many edits to Olympics articles recently - my heading changes and making articles past tense. I don't know how you did all of them and how tedious it is for you, but I strongly recommend WP:AutoWikiBrowser for repetitive edits if you didn't have it already. Hello
Thank you for your words, but I think i've to tell you something:
When I was working on the article (pretty hard by the way, few people helped me there while the games lasted..), I was happy because the tables with the honeydew colors, the orange colors for space, make the results look excellent.
Now I find on consensus that you want all the table white. I don't like it at all, it takes a lot more time to find the info and it looks just horrible.
But I don't know what to do since it seems you all like it like this (I can't understand it, really).

"WAG" / "MAG" abbreviations
Greetings, Basement12!
In reference to the question you left on the discussion page for the Wikiproject:Gymnastics ( Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Gymnastics ), "WAG" and "MAG" stand for, respectively, Women's Artistic Gymnastics and Men's Artistic Gymnastics. As opposed to rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline & tumbling, and other forms of gymnastics. This is the mainstream, most-followed of the gymnastics disciplines with men on rings and pommel horse and women on beam and uneven bars, etc. I don't see where the 'MAG' and 'WAG' references are in the wiki page you cite, however now that you know, you can find that site again and change them yourself.

References on Marinas
References and Zittel's Marina
Thanks for your note about the references. I prefer to cite references that everyone can see, but sometimes the references in reliable sources that show up on a Google News search are behind a paywall, and other references may not be available online at all, such as those that appear only in a book or magazine published before the computer era. A reference from a reliable source is still a valid reference, whether it is available free online or not, and for that reason I'd prefer that you restore the material you deleted from Zittel's Marina. I don't have access to the full text of the articles either, but one sounds like a crime that took place at or near Zittel's Marina, and other quotes the marina's owner as a local expert. I found some other references at http://news.google.com/archivesearch?q=%22Zittel%27s+Marina%22 As you might imagine, when I see a potentially notable article tagged for speedy deletion, my first step is to search for it at http://news.google.com/archivesearch --Eastmain (talk) 03:38, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
References and Bremerton Marina
I added some references to Bremerton Marina, and I am happier with those, since the Kitsap Sun articles aren't behind a paywall. If you live in Washington state and have additional information about any of the marinas and their history, please do what you can to improve the articles. - Even attempting to buy access to the articles results in an error message so I don't think those should be restored? I'd also point out that the authour of these articles has created a large number of these types of article, creating a guidebook/directory (against WP:NOT). They also seem to be copying and pasting direct from the primary sources. A number of these have already been speedy deleted and more are going through AfD (ones I believe you'd previously removed the speedy tags on).
