Kosovo
[edit]Hello!
I read your edit summary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 article about the existence of Kosovo in the ESC maps. Of course, everyone knows that Kosovo is not an independent state but an autonomous region, and therefore its borders at the maps have not the same width as the borders between independent states. So, removing the borders is not possible, since Kosovo is an autonomous area of Serbia and by doing this, Wikipedia loses its neutrality and takes the side of Serbia regarding the issue.

- The borders for Kosovo can't be removed from the map as Wikipedia's stance to be as neutral as possible. Depending on who you ask Kosovo is an independent country and some think it is an autonomous region of Serbia (but that is another discussion on its own). Also the map is a standardized template used for all Eurovision events with slight customization like Australia being included because they compete in Eurovision Song Contest and Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Another example is the map for Eurovision Young Dancers because Canada participated in 1987 and 1989. Kosovo also participated in this contest in 2011 while Serbia never participated in that contest. If for some reason Serbia declined to participate in a given year if the EBU theoretically wanted they could invite Kosovo to compete. They have already shown that they can override the rules in the past with Canada in Young Dancers. Current examples of this is Australia (who is an Associate Member) and Israel (their broadcaster currently has a pending application to join the EBU but is currently allowed to take part in Eurovision events despite technically not being a member of the EBU at the present time.) So in short, since the EBU already made an exception for Kosovo in Eurovision Young Dancers they can also make an exception to Eurovision Song Contest if they wish. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 17:13, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
