Information icon Hello, I'm Robby.is.on. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Andreas Bild, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Robby.is.on (talk) 07:31, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please also add a reference for the career stats table at Nils Fröling. Robby.is.on (talk) 07:32, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have to remove the table unless you add references. Robby.is.on (talk) 14:45, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on: I've added a reference. I've also emailed the sporting director at Boo FF, Andreas Bild, who confirmed Fröling's stats while at Boo. BarryHero (talk) 13:35, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well done, Sir. :-) Robby.is.on (talk) 13:40, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yksel Osmanovski

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for correcting Yksel Osmanovski's Torino appearances. I removed the link for "Swedish" per MOS:OVERLINK and his Macedonian descent per MOS:ETHNICITY. Please keep these guidelines in mind. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 14:44, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on: Thanks! That's good to know. BarryHero (talk) 13:35, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Markus Rosenberg

[edit]

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Markus Rosenberg you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Kosack -- Kosack (talk) 07:00, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kosack: Thanks for checking! BarryHero (talk) 13:35, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Markus Rosenberg

[edit]

The article Markus Rosenberg you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Markus Rosenberg for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Kosack -- Kosack (talk) 12:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Kosack: I see, maybe next time. Thanks for checking! BarryHero (talk) 13:35, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Minor nitpicks

[edit]

Hi there. Well done creating two new articles, Peter Nilsson (footballer) and Peter Nilsson (footballer born in 1974). After doing some copy-editing there, here are a couple of suggestions:

  • Links: 1. Avoid WP:Overlinking. Most people know what "Sweden" is, no need to link it. 2. Links like [[Football in Belgium|Belgium]] are probably a little to general to be useful and also not sufficiently transparent. See WP:EASTEREGG.
  • Have another look at the template at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players: 1. see the standard layout for the "international" table, 2. in "Honours", clubs should not be made headings.

Keep up the good work! :-) Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:16, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on:Thank you for the tips! BarryHero (talk) 09:19, 10 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. To be honest I am bit disappointed you repeated most of the issues at Egon Johnsson. Robby.is.on (talk) 14:59, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Robby.is.on:Hi Robby, I am sorry to disappoint. I put in a lot of effort creating Egon Johnsson's page and of course intend to follow all guidelines. I will try to avoid these issues in the future. Thank you for your revisions. BarryHero (talk) 19:01, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I can see you put in a lot of work. Kudos for that! You're welcome. Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 20:17, 15 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No references in section headings.

[edit]

Hello! Quick heads-up: references should not be placed in section headings; see MOS:HEADINGS. I've fixed that at Thomas Bodström. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 13:49, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for noticing and taking care of that, Robby.is.on. I'll keep that in mind for future edits. BarryHero (talk) 13:54, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 14:03, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pär Zetterberg, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Falling out. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:14, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Joseph Colley

[edit]

Hello, BarryHero,

Thank you for creating Joseph Colley.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Can you please check date of birth as soccerway says different date than that in the infobox. Thanks for creating the article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

It would be helpful if you a) included sources; b) used edit summaries; and c) did not mess with the infobox formatting. GiantSnowman 10:58, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article Kristian Caldwell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability not established with substantive sources, sources are only player/game databases that do not pass WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

A tag has been placed on File:Bud Lewis at Wilmington College.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.wilmington.edu/news/bud-lewis-lives-impacted-wins/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Jesper Florén article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 18:38, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sundayclose. I noticed that you recently removed content from Greta Thunberg without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sundayclose (talk) 02:02, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Sundayclose: Pretty clear cases of MOS:OVERLINKing, no? Also, these kinds of issues are better solved without templated messages; see WP:DNTTR. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:28, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree that it's overlinking; otherwise I wouldn't have restored the links. You may "know what they are", but thenaive reader may not. The links cause no harm and can be useful to readers. Wikipedia is written for readers who may not have the level of knowledge that you do. We lose sight of that when we assume everyone knows what we know. Please revert your edit and discuss on the talk page, per WP:BRD. BTW, I use standard templates because they are worded neutrally and are designed not to be harsh for level 1. Thanks. Sundayclose (talk) 16:03, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree that it's overlinking Then you are disagreeing with the MOS:OVERLINK which is more important than your personal opinion. "English" is actually given as an example of overlinking. "Swedish" is clearly a "major" example of a nationality. The links cause no harm Why overlinking is harmful is explained at MOS:OVERLINK. Please revert your edit I'm not BarryHero, I didn't make the edit, but if I were him I would not revert it. Their change is based on the Manual of Style, a "generally accepted standard that editors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply." and you have yet to demonstrate why these instances should be exceptions to the standard.
