Bundled AfDs now unbundled
[edit]Hello Bettia. Could I invite you to comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Katdarra since I've unbundled the two AfDs. Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 18:41, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Many thanks
[edit]Just to thank you for restoring Andrés Cabrero article and to tell you that I will try to help regarding the bad tagging issue. I have already edited this days almost all Serbian football clubs from the top 3 leagues (around 100 or more, basically added and corrected cats and added defaultsorts) and corrected all tags that were obsolete or simply wrong. I´ll pay special attention to the deletion logs and try to see if I can recognised any further wrong tagging. I already started sourcing the FK Proleter Zrenjanin article that you mentioned on another question on the talk page. I am more focused in football articles related to ex-Yugoslavia (leagues, clubs, players, seasons, foreign players there, etc.) so any problems regarding that area please feel free to add me tasks that are needed. I also have good cooperation with other editors from that region, so things should be solved easily. Thank you agaoin, and best regards, FkpCascais (talk) 16:36, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Winchester Castle F.C. has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
World Literacy Foundation
[edit]Hi, I created the page for the World Literacy Foundation, which was deleted under the A:7 rule. Are you able to give the copy of it so that I can improve it to meet the Wiki standards? Can you also offer me any advice how I should best meet the A:7 ruling? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lachiemac (talk • contribs) 01:17, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
My recent edits
[edit]Left you a response at User_talk:Zanoni - I do think it would be worth a discussion at Wiki Project Football as most of the squad lists/ rosters are not dated for non-league sides (especially lower not league sides and as such with a very high turnover of players during a season, the lists get very quickly out of date. Unrightful Article Deletion
[edit]Hi Bettia,
You just recently gave my article Nick Merten a nomintation for a speedy deletion and it was unrightful. The reason being it was not a good depiction as to why the person is important. This is incorrect, because i clearly stated his importance in the "Footbal Contraversy" that has made Nick Merten very big in the public eye in the community, in which he lives. I am asking this as a plea to remove this nomination so people in the community can learn about Nick Merten's biography. This is not only my wish but it includes the wishes of Nick Merten himslef and many of the community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Apoulson (talk • contribs) 13:56, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- First of all, please sign your posts (luckily Sinebot did it for you). Secondly, I didn't nominate your page for deletion, I deleted it. Thirdly, it was deleted as it failed to show how the subject was notable - in fact, it appeared to be nothing more than a joke page which sure as hell doesn't belong on Wikipedia. —BETTIA— talk 14:02, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi! Kindly reconsider my CSD nomination for this article. I am living in the Philippines and I have never heard this program on any time given. The only local version of Detective Conan that aired here is the Filipino dubbed animated series. Also, the article did not mention what network/channel it airs. The episode plot were also copy-pasted from the Detective Conan Wikia page.
May I also point out that this article has been created by a user (User:Stonecracker) who has a history of creating hoax articles. Looking at this example, he added the name of his friends as the main characters of his story. -WayKurat (talk) 15:16, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Why did you delete the term IFLAC?
[edit]Can you please explain why did you delete the term IFLAC?
(per your comment it wasn't notable)
Tomermer (talk) 13:45, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- The page was proposed for deletion by User:Guoguo12, I saw no reason for contest this as it didn't seem to meet the general notability guideline and the proposal was left uncontested for seven days, therefore it was eligible for deletion. In order to demonstrate notability, the subject of an article should receive substantial coverage in multiple third-party sources. —BETTIA— talk 18:50, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
You can find here few third-party sources:
http://www.peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=2
http://www.euromedalex.org/node/9306
http://www.gatherthewomen.org/archive/gtw/partner_organizations.htm#iflac
Is it good enough?
Tomermer (talk) 15:51, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- First link: no, that article is primarily about Ada Aharoni, IFLAC is only mentioned in passing.
- Second link: maybe, if the Anna Lindh Foundation is in no way connected to IFLAC.
- Third link: no, this appears to be nothing more than a directory listing, and probably wouldn't count as substantial coverage.
- You need to be aware that Wikipedia is very strict when it comes to notability of companies and organisations. As stated here, "Very few companies and corporations are suitable for inclusion into Wikipedia. There are millions of companies in the world but less than one-tenth of one percent of these companies are notable enough to be considered for inclusion into Wikipedia". One other thing I noticed is that the most recent version of the article was directly copied from the organisation's own website. This is a breach of our copyright policy and as such could mean the article is eligible for speedy deletion under criteria WP:CSD#G12.
- If you wish to go ahead and make an article on IFLAC, I would suggest creating a draft in your userspace at User:Tomermer/IFLAC, rewriting it in your own words, ensuring it includes as many decent sources as possible, and only publishing it when it's complete. See User:Bettia/Stannah Lifts for an example of a work in progress. —BETTIA— talk 22:28, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Help needed.
[edit]Hi Bettia!
You have just deleted my article and the reason was advertising. But the article is about my school and I don't see any point of advertising on the article. If there is please show them to me in order to help. Deleting do not work for me. I am new here and such still could not get the reason why noone helps but deleting the articles. Help needed!!

more information please
[edit]Bettia can you please b more specific about weak points on my article? Was it totally wrong? The pages you sent as the list of quaility school pages are only talk pages. Any link does not really work for me. I saw in a wiki article that there were little links stating where citation is needed and what words or sentences indicating advertisement. Is it possible for you to do the same for my article. I want to change it I want it to be submitted and published. Can you please give more detailed information specifically on the article? I know I am being insisting but I really want to succeed it. Thank you.
edit: I sent the article for a feedback but I could not get any feedback and my article is deleted now. How can I get feedback? Also the articles you asked me to check are really very old schools which has been seen on the news and other relible sources. Mine is so different the only source is the website and my experiences in school. How sould i change my article? Please answer me because I am desperate right now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aysinpir (talk • contribs) 15:05, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately if those are the only sources available, that's going to be a problem as the article could still be deleted due to it failing the general notability guideline. Your article needs to have references from independent sources outside your school, like news sources, magazines and books. If you want, I'll look at the copy of your article in your userspace later and make some comments. —BETTIA— talk 16:31, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
that would be perfect! thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aysinpir (talk • contribs) 16:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Call for comments
[edit]Hey Bettia,
As you stated before you are really busy. I know it. However I have finished correcting my article Bilkent Erzurum as you said. Can you please check the rest of the article. I am really willing to finish this as perfect as possible and I want it to be finished soon to see how people react it. This is valuable for me to have an approved article on wikipedia so I need your help.
Sincerely, Aysinpir (talk) 06:40, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Bettia, I can see that you are really busy. I understand that and I do not want to burden more on you. Are there any names who has right to comment on my article (just as you did) that you can suggest? Right now I am stuck. I cannot change anything without the comments and reviews?
Hello Bettia!
[edit]ı am curious if you can continue reading my Bilkent Erzurum article and evaluating it? Can you please inform me about your feedback?

Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited List of American football teams in the United Kingdom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Falmouth (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

MSU Interview
[edit]Dear Bettia,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 15:49, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Image permissions
[edit]Amir, I wondered if it would be possible to have the webmaster who gave permission for File:Andover-salisbury-2008.jpg to send an email to OTRS. It's not clear from the image you gave whether they understand that it may be used off Wikipedia. Just want to have all the is dotted before deleting it here. Danger High voltage! 00:19, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll ask him. However, the club has since ceased to exist and the website is now offline - I don't know if that affects the copyright / ownership status or not. ~~ Bettia ~~ talk 12:10, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- It shouldn't. The copyright still most likely is held by the photographer. Danger High voltage! 16:27, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Rangers FC
[edit]Hi Bald Zebra. I feel the changes you made to the Rangers F.C. article may have been better coming from an uninvolved editor. It now looks as though you have made the changes to further the position of one side in a content dispute—a content dispute which you yourself have been party to. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 19:16, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- There was consensus that there are reliable sources saying the club that will be in div 3 next season is the same club as was in the SPL the last season. The alteration made to the article has far more consensus and support than the previous version, which was introduced with no consensus at all. BritishWatcher (talk) 19:18, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
The Eagles F.C.
[edit]Hey Bald Zebra Im the creator of The Eagles F.C.and i just want to tell you why it should not be deleted well lets start with the "2011" sharjah cup,i mistyped that and im really sorry i just fixed it,Uhmm about the sources and Refernces well i just included two their official website and their twitter page,I think this page should not be because the club is becoming very famous in the UAE and Iraq and they really deserve a chance and a spot on Wikipedia. Thank you hope you dont delete it ,Respect your opinion. ReckoningAce (talk) 10:08, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

report user: edit warring
[edit]Hello, as the admin who dealt with certain issues on the Rangers FC entry, i'd like to bring to yoru attention the user spiritofstgeorge who seems intent on edit warring with every one of my edits. It's rather petty and he undoes even the simplest revision. For example there had been discussion on the talk page on using the term 'relaunched club', several users opposed such a term as being inaccurate/misleading. The term was used in a section header "administration, liquidation & relaunched club". I reverted it to simply read "administration & liquidation". The title covers the relevant aspects, and the term 'relaunched' never rached consensus. But this user seems intent on edit warring with me and has undone almost every single edit i've made to this page, and a linked page. As admin perhaps you could drop him a friendly message to avoid edit warring before it goes any further, the last thing we want is for the article to become locked, again. Regards, Ricky072 (talk) 14:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Let me speak in my own defence. Ricky072 registered to edit wikipedia at the start of last month and has been very active but only on Rangers related articles. It was hir edit warring that got the Newco Rangers article locked. He is noe engaged in sanitising the Rangers article of things he doesn't like - whether sourced or not. The term 'relaunched' - which is easily sourced - was introduced as an attempt to gain a compromise as some editors objected to reformed (though it could also be sourced. Ricky072 has gone on record as stating that 'no compromise is possible' and he appears to be carrying this forward by continually trying to chip away at bits he doesn't like. Thanks for reading this, and sorry that you have been bothered. Spiritofstgeorge (talk) 16:15, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- i agree with spiritofgeorge, ricky is the one being obsecutrive and edit warring not spiritofgeorge not in this occassion, ricky is not formigna consensus and changing things he doesnt like i am half tempted to get a topic ban on ricky because he not being constructive editor. ricky hasnt even reported spiritofgeorge i the correct way nor did he tell him wher ehe reported him--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 16:37, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- i should also point out spiritofgeorge on this article has only reverted once today, whereas ricky has done it twice, depending on teh bannign admin it only when you do 3 or 4 revert to teh same article within one day--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 18:05, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of The Inhuman League
[edit]Hi Zebra,
I set up an article for our Roller Derby League 'The Inhuman League' last night, only to find it deleted this morning. I'm not sure I understand why, as similar leagues (Sheffield Steel Roller Girls, Roller Derby Toulouse, Newcastle Roller Girls have had their pages for a while. I do understand that there could be more references in the article, but I just ran out of time last night and was going to expand on the article today. I'd be grateful if you could look at reinstating the article, or at least send me the deleted entry so I can improve it and maybe resubmit it once it is in better shape. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shimrodmimir (talk • contribs) 09:29, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Undeletion request: Ontario Universities' Application Centre page
[edit]Hi there, I picked your name from the "Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles" list as I was hoping that you could send me the content that I was posting to the "Ontario Universities' Application Centre" page. I understand why it was deleted, but as I had spent nearly half a day drafting the material in Wikipedia, I would like to use some of what I already had to re-create the article in my own words and submit for approval via the proper means. This would be greatly appreciated so I don't have to start from scratch. Thanks so much. --CarlaWhite (talk) 13:53, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
