2020 Rugby Championship moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2020 Rugby Championship, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. About 2022 Mitre 10 Cup, and successive years

[edit]

Hi Taz and thank you for your contributions.

There are no indications whatsoever in reliable sources that there will actually be a "2022 Mitre 10 Cup".

I have looked at the provincial unions' websites, and found no mention of teams or players for a a "2022 Mitre 10 Cup".

The subsequent years, in my opinion, would also appear to be pure speculation. Who knows - most certainly not me - what The NZRU will pick as their various corporate sponsors in the future?

Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:19, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Pete, yeah, you're absolutely correct. I just created those as sort of 'templates' for the successive seasons so it'd be easy to just add or edit as necessary when those seasons rolled around. Even if the no. of games changed etc, the main structure of the page of the points tables, games results, stats, etc would be there already to just add the data into.
But yeah anyway I don't know how to create an actual template for Mitre10 Cup seasons (if it's even possible) and I've realised that to create a new seasons page all you'd need to do is look at the 2021 page creation edit and copy/paste that anyway. Cheers mate -- TazMcPunty (talk) 23:22, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Moana Pasifika Rut template

[edit]

Hi mate, have seen that you've tried to add a flag to the Moana Pasifika Rut template (is on my watchlist). I don't think it's possible as the flag I've used isn't an official flag and isn't listed in the Wikipedia flag database as such. The team doesn't officially represent a nation either so using Samoa or Tonga isn't really an option. If a flag had to be used I'd probably suggest the NZ flag as they're playing in NZ this year, but I don't think one is really necessary. Thanks for the creation of the 2022 Super Rugby page though, was going to get round to it once it had been fully finalised. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 09:13, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Rugbyfan22, yeah, thanks for that. I did go with the NZ flag for a bit but decided that the PI flag was really a better representation in the end, despite being based in NZ, as you said. Would be nice to have one but it is what it is - I've just added it in on the SR page instead (all the other teams have their countries flags too so makes sense to have a flag). Thanks for helping out on the 2022 SR page. I did see that there was a draft there but, unfortunately, not until I'd already created most of it. I'll have to be more vigilant about checking for that in future. Thanks for all of that anyway, much appreciated! TazMcPunty (talk) 01:48, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, the draft was very basic anyway without any sources. I doubt there's anything on it that would be worth merging into your article. I agree, the flag for Pacific Island rugby that I've found is probably alright for now, although there's a chance it may be removed in the future, and doesn't work in rut templates obviously, but as a source of visual identification I think it's ok. Eden Park results article

[edit]

Hi there mate, I don't think we keep articles such as the one you've created as they breach WP:NOTSTATS. Recently a large number of results against other nations articles were created for this reason. Perhaps the table can be merged to the Eden Park page and this become a redirect.
