Kiran Bedi

Please avoid copy/pasting texts from the internet to wikipedia, this usually violates the WP:Plagiarsim and WP:Copyright policies, and the external writing style usually does not comply with encyclopedia standards. Materialscientist (talk) 05:14, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

March 2012

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Kiran Bedi. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you.  Abhishek  Talk 13:01, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kiran Bedi. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.  Abhishek  Talk 13:01, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

A beer for you!

thank you.and yes it would be helpful if you could tell me how to make a reference and also how to use material from the internet. Ayanosh (talk) 15:06, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Confusing edit

Please explain Why did this happen? Please respond on my talk. Thanks. —Justin (koavf)TCM05:54, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Ah No worries. One of the great things about Wikipedia is that you can't really ruin anything, since the previous versions are saved (and you reverted yourself anyway...) This can all be a little confusing at first, so please let me know if you need any help. You can use my talk (the "T" in my signature) or e-mail (the "M".) —Justin (koavf)TCM18:15, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Notability

New articles I noticed that you've created May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss and The Mine recently. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that these meet the notability guidelines. Wikipedia doesn't publish original research so we can only rely on what other sources say is important. You have to establish that several independent sources note the importance of these books as you create the article. Things like sales numbers, reviews in prominent publications, controversies, etc. make a book notable. Most books are not notable, though, so they don't merit an article on Wikipedia.

I've decided to userfy these articles--this way, you can work on them some without them being deleted. Once you have proven notability, then you can move them back into the main namespace. Again, please let me know if this is confusing. —Justin (koavf)TCM18:22, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Also They're now at User:Ayanosh/May I Hebb Your Attention Pliss and User:Ayanosh/The Mine. I've taken them out of the categories by adding colons at the beginning. As always, let me know if this is confusing... —Justin (koavf)TCM18:25, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Notability Reviews in professional publications are an excellent way to establish notability, so you have to explicitly cite this within the article. Create a section about the reception of the book(s) and that will demonstrate notability. Being a short article is fine--just try to mark it as such with a stub template. —Justin (koavf)TCM03:21, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Not sure I'm really not familiar with the AfC process, to be honest... You've done a fine job, though, and you're learning how Wikipedia works much faster than I did. As another pointer, I suggest you take a look at WP:LINKROT. Also, you accidentally deleted a lot of my talk. —Justin (koavf)TCM16:57, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Your article has been moved to AfC space

Hi! I would like to inform you that the Articles for Creation submission which was previously located here: User:Ayanosh/The Mine has been moved to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Mine, this move was made automatically and doesn't affect your article, if you have any questions please ask on my talk page! Have a nice day. ArticlesForCreationBot (talk) 13:23, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation

The Mine, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.
The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on the article's talk page. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you are more than welcome to continue submitting work to Articles for Creation.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Please do not categorise living people according to what you believe their religion to be - as you have done at Manoj Tiwari - unless you can verify that they have self-identified as adherents to the faith. WP:BLP applies. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 18:00, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Infoboxes

Templates and tables An infobox is a template that (usually) goes at the beginning of an article and floats to the right. For legislatures (e.g. United States Congress), you should use {{Infobox Legislature}}. There is documentation on that page to explain how it's used. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. —Justin (koavf)TCM03:32, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period.

When you are making a requested change in the article, you can update that in the GA2 review page too, it'll help to understand that it (the reviewer's suggestion) has been answered! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 13:50, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I closed your nomination, Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Brahma Kamal, as "Not promoted". We welcome your contributions to featured picture candidates and I encourage you to nominate more images. Before you do so, you may want to review the featured picture criteria. If you're unsure if a picture meets the criteria, feel free to add the image to picture peer review where experienced users will comment on it. Thanks. I hope to see you at FPC again. Makeemlighter (talk) 01:42, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Reference tags

The thing is, the tags say that additional sources are needed "for verification". Verification isn't really the issue with those articles; everything came out of those stats sites. If notability is in question, there are separate tags for that, but there is precedent for keeping articles on all NBA players, since sources are pretty much always available. In the case of Price, at least a few old newspaper articles are available, like [1]. Zagalejo^^^ 04:15, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Well, I might take a look later, but it's not a priority for me at the moment. Zagalejo^^^ 23:59, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Peer review/Bhagavad Gita/archive1, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Peer review/Bhagavad Gita/archive1 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Peer review/Bhagavad Gita/archive1 during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Please don't "move" articles by cut-and-paste

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Pankaj Kapoor a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Pankaj Kapur. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.
Aside from the history problem, it also splits up the article from its Talk page - that's how I noticed it. I see you did try to use a template to request a move but you almost never want to subst a template, and there's no such template as {{name change}}. You could have used {{Admin request}}, but WP:Requested_moves is the best way to do it. Incidentally, the convention on Wikipedia is that you add new posts to the bottom of the Talk page, not the top. FlagSteward (talk) 12:12, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

The article Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi for comments about the article. Well done! There is a backlog of articles waiting for review, why not help out and review a nominated article yourself?--Tito Dutta Message 17:29, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

You went through a very extensive and high quality WP:GAC review of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. I did the first review and noted numerous entirely uncited paragraphs. I was disappointed to see that a couple uncited paragraphs remain.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 18:16, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, your recent edits to the article of Gangs of wasseypur, surprised me ! As, you are known to be one of the best contributors to topics related to north India. This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Gangs of Wasseypur Part 1, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Gangs Of Wasseypur Part 1. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 14:55, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I don't quite understand why there is an article that focuses on both films, and separate articles for each film. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 would be good example of a similar type of release. Apart from that, I'm not sure I could be of much assistance. I am not too familiar with film articles. Statυs (talk) 19:12, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:03, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Seems the article is getting developed nicely. Please be careful and systematic about reference formatting. In this preparatory phase, it is vital that references are formatted correctly and consistently. Examples of Indian state related featured articles should be modeled. West Bengal, although not in its finest form, is an ok example to follow. Tripura is also under development. Have a look.--Dwaipayan (talk) 04:12, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Ayanosh/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! v/r - TP 23:31, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
