Speedy deletion nomination of Jakob Lindberg
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jakob Lindberg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. BiH (talk) 22:29, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Jakob Lindberg moved
[edit]The page is now at User:Avebury67307/sandbox. Happy editing! --Hegvald (talk) 00:34, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
- I'm now aiming to get into direct contact with Jakob Lindberg (have sent email detailing content and action here) to collect details about ancestry, instruments, special concerts, etc. Ideally I wish to show him what the page looks like so far. Is it ok in its current state to be pasted to the live page? Sandbox (and history) can then be deleted, then repasted from live page to sandbox for future edits. Is that a good plan?
- Yes, except that everything in an article has to be verifiable from published sources. You cannot base anything directly on facts from direct communication with the article subject, as anything of that sort is difficult for anyone else to verify. Not impossible, as long as the subject is still alive; somebody else could do the same thing and contact Lindberg, but few people are likely to want to inconvenience a person to check if claims about the names of their parents (or whatever) are correct. (I'm not saying that it is in any way wrong to do so once, but it is problematic from the point of view of someone coming along in a couple of years and wondering about the veracity of some random minor fact in the article.) The best thing is if you can ask Lindberg for copies from press clippings, if he keeps a file of those. That way you can reference the published sources directly. This is all covered in the WP:V, WP:RS and WP:OR policies. Don't worry too much about all the details of these policies; as long as you get the gist of them, it is mostly just about using common sense and normal referencing formats as used in academia. --Hegvald (talk) 09:29, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
