[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. 331dot (talk) 14:42, 27 February 2019 (UTC)

Gosh I responded things on what appeared to be the correct page and I got a message saying it I should have responded here with a link to a long article of difficult procedural stuff that I don't have the hours necessary to wade through and understand. So instead, if I have to post here, I'll just paste my responcse from the other page, I hope that is good enough? Please let me know if there are even more hoops you want me to jump through.
Why do you believe you should be unblocked?
Hello, I'm just a small person with an expertise in a few areas and I run a website that has never received a cent of funding or assistance, I have paid for everything myself.
But I'm getting a number of alarming messages from your large corporation that seem to be branding me as some sort of criminal or major spammer. So I will say that I have never spammed anyone, nor have I committed even a minor crime in my 50 years, (I haven't even got a parking ticket).
So I'm very sorry if I breached some sort of protocol. Honestly if I did, it was out of ignorance rather than any malice or aiming for promotion or other advantage. So I would be very grateful if you could please get your people off my back, unblock me and I promise to never, ever do anything that contravenes your protocols again. Thank you. :)
If you are unblocked, what articles do you intend to edit?
Overwhelmingly mountain related articles. I promise to never reveal my identity or website or anything I have worked on, but I have edited, indexed and fact checked books on mountain huts, climbing in the European Alps, travelling in the Himalaya and I written hiking guides and award winning books and articles on mountain history in Australia. So I think my expertise could help to improve articles on your company's site.
Why do you think there is a block currently affecting you? If you believe it's in error, tell us how.
The messages I have been getting in the last few hours have been very alarming for me as I'm not the sort of person who sets out to provoke and I do my best to avoid conflict.
I suspect the reason your people came down so very hard on me was that I provided details of a website. I promise to never do this again, but please unblock me and stop the intimidating messages.
Is there anything else you would like us to consider when reviewing your block?
I think I've said everything I want to for my case above. But for future cases like mine, perhaps you could consider toning things down a few notches and at first, send a more gentle message so your company doesn't slam and intimidate little people like me. Then, if things aren't changed, you can wheel out your big guns. Thanks for considering this suggestion.
EDIT. It would also be great if there was clear and brief information on how to appeal bans, I submitted this appeal to what appeared to be the correct link, but I got a message to post it here (I think). I feel like I'm being given the run around, but I suspect it's just because there is so much confusing information that nothing is clear to ordinary people.
- You may find general information about appealing blocks by clicking WP:AAB. Specifically, you need to follow the instructions in your block notice so your request is properly made and seen. 331dot (talk) 16:19, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Umm, which notice? I've received about half a dozen messages and I have attempted to follow their directives. I have spent hours trying to resolve this issue and it is beginning to look like you corporation is trying to make me give up. But I would honestly like to contribute and I'm sure you can tell by now that I am not malicious in any way. So surely what I have done so far is enough for your requirements?
If it is not, please tell me what else is required, preferably in one or two sentences without directing me to a 5,000 word web page full of technical stuff. Thanks. :)
