Hi, please dp not revert the bot like that. The bot processes Special:DoubleRedirects. By reverting you are putting entries back on the Special:DoubleRedirects list. Inter namespace redirects are frowned upon and often deleted. I recommend tagging those article->category redirects for speedy deletion. Added a bit to the Greek article. I think as paintings, whatever the political etc term, the Fayum ones have to be described as Graeco-Roman rather than Roman. We don't have much evidence, but I suspect most Roman painting was done by Greeks, or those trained by them. Johnbod 02:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

possibly unfree image

I was hoping that you might be able to help. Image:ShroudCaywCanals.jpg is clearly a screen capture from Google Earth. It seems that that is not fair use since they license the imagery and it is not a representative image like artwork from a video game. Hi White Cat. As you cann see at the bottom of my usepage, I have been approached about an image suspected to be non-free. In fact, it is an image clearly lifted from Google Earth. I feel it can't be used, but I am only a humble editor and so I'm not sure what to do now. Can you tell me where to report the suspected transgression or what else to do? Greek temples

Hello. About your comment at WP:DYK on the hook for Greek temple, where you said "I removed the relevant reference from the article, as it was too long anyway", a followup that doesn't belong on the DYK page itself:

If your article becomes too large, instead of trimming content, you can prepare it either for exporting some sections to separate articles, or splitting it entirely and making it a small shell linking to the splits.

For instance, you could export the "Summary of development" section to a separate, say, History of Greek temples (where you could develop at length more subsections such as "Greek temples during the Middle Ages" and "Greek temples during the modern era", including the content about modern use as Pagan or Christian worship places) – and in the original article, replace the exported section with a summary paragraph headed with {{Main|History of Greek temples}} – that sort of things.

(Of course, child article derived from a split aren't eligible for DYK, but that's another matter.)

Hi, I came to the article Cone d'Avanton via Schifferstadt, I'm updating infoboxes for German towns right now. Fascinating pieces of art, these golden hats! One remark: I think the title should be changed, since right now it's neither correct French (that would be "Cône") nor correct English. RE: User page:

Yes I completely understand, and I myself have lived in Germany when I was in the Military at Ramstein. I know that traditionally the Red-White-black can be seen as "NPD" like and "Über alles" can be seen as Nationalist. However Having lived in Germany and come from the U.S. and especially California. California being a land COMPETLEY OVERUN BY LATINISM (from Latin America). People only know Germany from what they see in school textbooks, and think ALL Germans fly the Swastika or "Hakenkreuz" all over the place. One thing to note is German has taken the way side in cultural activity here in California and few High schools offer German as a language. There are all sorts of Organizations for Latinos, African decent people, Asians, and Pacific islanders, but NOT Germans. As far as travel is concerned, people would rather go to London, Paris, or even Rome. Even though Germany and its cities are nicer than the other European lands COMBINED. With that said I am promoting German history, Culture, the land, and Ideals. I also would like to see some German Cultural revival not only here, but back in Germany itself. So in other words I end up having to be über German prideful in order to scratch the surface at balancing the Germanic Vs. romantic culture scale. I wish I could start a German cultural society around here and promote the good of Germany, but here in California if you show strong appreciation of German culture or language you must be a RACIST. So with that I am trying to find a way to get back to Germany and be BOTH German and American national (IE. Hold both Passports). So I can be proud of my German Heritage, and be around Germans again. Because Germans are the BEST people I have met, and they do not deserve the world wide Anti-German attitude. If you think there should be a different way to approach this and meet my goal that will not be seen as "Offensive" let me know.

I apologize for that edit summary. I was not referring to you when I wrote "persistent date warrior." My intention was to revert this edit made by a user who has been warned and blocked repeatedly over this sort of thing. My perusal of the history led me to believe that the article had been stable in BCE era style before that edit, and although an admin had apparently hit the "rollback" key on him, some edits fell through the cracks because they could not be undone. Now that I look more closely, I see that an admin already did revert his change which was subsequently reverted back by you.

Mold cape

Dear Mr Athinaios (or perhaps one should say "Yassou" as I see you are in the land of overly-thick yoghurt, atonal plucking, scraping and caterwauling, and man-boy love). Back from church and now to attend to my correspondence. I am sure the parson thought he was seeing to my spiritual wellbeing, but I also took the precaution of attending to the physical, in the form of a plump cushion, my trusty hipflask (given to me by Eddie, don’t you know, before that awful Simpson woman came along and quite ruined all my plans) and the latest penny dreadful by that woman who could do with a visit to the hairdressing salon. I must recommend Geraldo to her next time I see her at Cowdray.

I had a job stopping dear Catherine's dreadful grandson from carving his initials into the Georgian family box pew. A dreadfully willful child, but nothing that a few smart thwacks with the hymn book couldn't sort out. Quite how any live offspring managed to issue from Catherine's Sahara of a womb is beyond me, but she was clearly intent on continuing her line, to the detriment of the general gene pool. God help us all.

Now, to matters in hand. You refer to my man or men. Would that I had more than one (wistfully remembers back to her heydey....) That Clara Bow rumour was based on me, you know. Of course, it was nothing as vulgar as a team of American football players. Dear me, no. Naturally, it was the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race crews that I entertained, plus Isis and Goldie and various coaches. Oh, and the man who greased the runners was in there too somewhere, I seem to recall. Ah, what a time we had. Such high-jinks.

I really have no general interest in Bronze Age golden trinkets, Mr Athinaios. I merely created the article on the Mold cape as I am in possession of the original, which was given to me by Mr Balenciaga and on which he based my coming-out ball stole. Those so-called experts at the British Museum have yet to realise that their version has been made out of chocolate coin wrappers and a few of those golden yellow confectionaries that one finds in the Quality Street tins that the lower orders have knocking around in the kitchens at the festive season. If you would like to come and visit the cape, I am sure you will find me most accommodating. Are you young and good-looking? It always helps.

I was just looking at your work on Venus figurines and I wanted to make a couple suggestions:

1. Please include references. You wrote an entire section on Steatopygia without any references.
2. It is not necessary to "pipe" links if all you are just changing the first letter to lower case. In other words Steatopygia and steatopygia will both link the reader to the same article.
3. Use the preview feature to reduce the number of edits, which makes the history easier to read.

Indeed - readers can find out more, for instance, by merely clicking the links. And yes, I agree all sorts of permutations are possible, but the key with infoboxes is to balance conciseness with accuracy, which I think the present version does fairly well. Glad to be of service. Unfortunately I don't have any German, so I couldn't recommend any of their articles. I would point out, though, that painters of the South Italian fabrics are a little under-represented. I hope to write something on the Underworld Painter myself, other than that the Apulians would beneft from your attention I think. As for adding to the Black figure article, absolutely - please do.
