Rational mysticism
→ in re: Rational mysticism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
→ see also: Deletion review and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rational mysticism
You deleted the term rational mysticism, a concept which I and a number of scientifically oriented individuals consider an important concept. There was certainly research included in the article. Do you find the term somehow offensive or is it some other personal opinion which you are expressing. I check my watch list frequently and this term was on my watch list. I find no notification that the term was to be deleted. How did you manage to circumvent the notification? I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the deletion and dispute this deletion. - The article was proposed for deletion at 06:51, 29 October 2007 (UTC) by Hypergeometric2F1(a,b,c,x), whose concern was that the article was a violation of the no original research policy. In accordance with proposed deletion policy, it was deleted at 04:14, 4 November 2007 (UTC).

Don't know what this prod stuff is. All I know is that this term doesn't come from my original research. It discussed widely on the web. It was used as a core concept in a sermon by the former head of the Unitarian-Universalist Association, John Buehrens. It seems to be a key concept for a lot of significant people more important than me or most wikepedia editors. Sorry, I'm not an expert on Wikipedia technicalities like 'prod'. Richard Dates —Preceding comment was added at 00:37, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't assume you were familiar with the term*; that's why I didn't use it when I replied to you :-)
- (*It's shorthand for proposed deletion.)
- By its very nature, this encyclopedia covers far more topics than can be within the scope of any single editor. That is one of the reasons for the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines for sourcing the content which is added to it: we must have something upon which we can rely when we're researching and developing material, whether or not we're familiar with it ourselves. — Athaenara ✉ 00:57, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your courteous answers and constructive work on the concept rational mysticism. It seems with the heat it has generated, it must have a bit of emotional impact for some of the other editors. It seems to be growing into a notable idea but definitely not a movement...yet. I see you deleted my old user page, User:Wahkeenah. I wonder if you'd mind restoring it for 24 hours so that I can retrieve a couple of things from it. Specifically, there was a barnstar thing that I forgot to grab from User talk:Wahkeenah, and probably some other talk page stuff also. Thank you! - Done and done with edit summary "Temporarily restoring per 07:50, 15 February 2008 (UTC) request on User talk:Athaenara#Old user page by Special:Contributions/Baseball Bugs."
- It was deleted because it was in the Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages and was tagged as a user-requested deletion. Suggestion: why not stop asking for it to be deleted (twice now) and just archive it, or mark it historical? — Athaenara ✉ 08:08, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will attend to it ASAP. I did not put that category on it. That showed up sometime between July 8 and 13 of 2007, without showing up in the history, so I'm assuming that it arises from a template. In short, I was not aware it was targeted for deletion. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 15:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- It appears that the block notice template is where that came from. Since I'm not using the page anymore except for history (and for notices by robots of old image uploads and stuff), maybe I should take away the block notice and that would fix it? Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 15:12, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Motif (narrative)
→ in re: Motif (narrative) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Hi, can you please restore the contents of the article Motif (narrative)? I think that this subject is encyclopedic in nature and can be made into an encyclopedic article, which is more than just a dictionary definition. Even if you disagree, please restore the content and immediately convert the article into a redirect to Motive, in order to restore the history and let other users work on the content starting from the previous version. I am asking this because the article was deleted due to a PROD, and not a speedy or AfD, and therefore it does not require community concensus to restore its contents. Thanks, Ynhockey (Talk) 16:57, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Empty categories
→ in re: categories created by Buaidh
Howdy, thanks for deleting [Category:WikiProject Washington articles] (which I think was not only empty but misnamed). The same user created a whole slew of empty categories, but I'm not as sure about deleting these. I wanted to ask the user, but I wasn't sure how to phrase it. Basically, I'm not sure how clear it is that they need to be deleted. Should I nominate them all and warn him, should I just ask him out of curiosity, or should I warn him that they might be nominated for speedy?
Here are the categories:

Thanks, JackSchmidt (talk) 00:26, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I wondered about that myself, and almost undeleted the category. I checked the history, though, and Buaidh had removed it from other categories before the CSD nom, so I left it deleted.
- Generally, WikiProject members are listed on WikiProject pages, not in categories. My opinion is that the member categories are eligible for deletion, but perhaps the question should be asked on some of the WikiProject talk pages. — Athaenara ✉ 00:40, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Afterthought:
- Maybe User categories for discussion is the best place to ask. — Athaenara ✉ 00:44, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I created the deletion discussion but did not tag the categories themselves until it looks more like the categories might be deleted but that someone might want them kept (i.e. something other than instant consensus). JackSchmidt (talk) 17:34, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well that went smoothly and quickly. Buaidh said it was just a mistake, please delete them. I did a non-admin closure of the UCFD and marked all of them {{db-c1}} with a link back to the UCFD. If you are familiar with xfd closing (and are feeling generous), could you check if my closure was kosher? It feels silly being so short, but it definitely seemed like the clear decision: the creator wanted them deleted and (before I mentioned them at ucfd) they clearly met the letter of the law for C1. - Specifically:
- the criteria for speedy deletion apply to limited cases in which pages may be deleted without discussion. Often deleted within minutes, the actual elapsed time depends on when administrators check the category and review the items in it.
- with proposed deletion, an article will not be deleted until five days after it was tagged.
- in the articles for deletion process, a consensus will typically be reached within one week.
- A quick read of the first paragraph or two of each of these three pages should clarify the situation further if you want to know more. — Athaenara ✉ 23:00, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Template:AbortionbyCountry
I'm curious why you deleted Template:AbortionbyCountry. Well I know why you deleted it: because someone had listed it as WP:CSD#R3. However, I do not believe this template was simply an implausible typo (R3 only applies for recently created redirects). This was the title of Template:Abortion by country (sidebar) for over a year. Sardanaphalus, without any prior discussion, decided to rename the template, use automated editing to change the old links, and then requested the template be deleted in under an hours time. Redirects are cheap and I wanted to get your perspective on deleting this redirect given this information. You recently deleted the J.W. Childs Associates page due to "copyright infringement". I believe if there was any material that was objectionable it mas minimal. I would ask that you point out specifically where the objection was as the text for that article was generally original, with certain sections referencing articles and various different sources. As this cites certain facts around areas of investment there will be certain words that are the same but this can be removed or corrected if necessary rather than deleting the entire article.
This article was created as part of the Private Equity Task Force. If there is inadvertant material included I will work to correct any issues but a speedy delete seems unwarranted here. |► ϋ r b a n я e n e w a l ◄| (talk) 04:50, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

- Yes I know. I just don't think that there is very much, if any really objectionable material here, and certainly not anything that would merit deleting the article altogether. The wording follows a very similar pattern that I have used in numerous articles on different firms and if I have to go through all of this I will but I really think it would be much easier to work through these very specific issues you are raising as edits to the page rather than deletions of the page. I have been working on wikipedia for quite a while and have not encountered this kind of issue before that could not be resolved relatively quickly and easily. As you can tell from my edit history I like to spend my time actually editing articles rather than going through the admin hassle of this kind of issue. If you are able to work with me that would be great. If I have to go through a deletion review and get a working copy of my article I will do it but it would not be my first inclination.|► ϋ r b a n я e n e w a l ◄| (talk) 05:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am going to be logging off for the evening and won't be able to reply further. From reading your other discussions you seem to be fairly reasonable. If you look at the content you deleted I think you will see you can very easily resolve any objections you might have and I certainly don't think the article needs to be deleted and any rewording would be fairly minor. That does not typically qualify for speedy deletion under WP:Copyrights. "Copyright law governs the creative expression of ideas, not the ideas or information themselves" In this case you are talking about very few words that represent a factual description about a company, which is why if you see the firm described in various articles around the web you will also see similar text appears. ACV-300
→ in re: user Oguzhantr (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and 88.228.222.33
Hello Athaenara,
As you are the Admin who deleted the copyright violating article FNSS Armored infantry fighting vehicle I ask you for advise. The deleted article was not only a copyvio, it was also redundant, as the already existing ACV-300 is about the exact same vehicle. The user who "created" the deleted article, User:Oguzhantr, has edited ACV-300 so that it is identical to the deleted one (and therefore contains versions that are copyvios). Even though I reverted that once, he changed it back already. My question is basically, what to do now? Can those copyvio-versions be deleted without deleting the whole article? Is it vandalism when he'll continue to revert my edits? The user seems, to put it mildly, "unaware" of copyright restrictions that exist here on Wikipedia, if you take a look at his talk page, and ignored the numerous warnings that he has received from numerous users throughout the time he's been working here. How can I now prevent him from doing more such stuff? --DavidDCM (talk) 21:41, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
A little update. Admin Ian13 has just blocked User:Oguzhantr for a week. But now an IP-adress user keeps on doing bad things to the ACV-300 article... :( (Who that might be?) --DavidDCM (talk) 22:20, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oguzhantr seems to be a user who is indifferent to Wikipedia policies and guidelines, violates them regularly, and has never engaged in discussion on any Wikipedia talk pages.
- If he (or she) uses anonymous IP addresses to evade the block (a diffs comparison reveals that 88* was used for that), they will be blocked as well. — Athaenara ✉ 04:34, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

After deleting the image as per WP:CSD#I9, I checked the blocked user's image contribs for other images which have not been deleted. It seems likely that some or all of them may be similarly eligible for deletion.
I recommend that along with looking at the images uploaded by Martinez07, you should also probably look at those uploaded by the other sockpuppets of PoliticianTexas. I haven't seen an image yet that hasn't turned out to be found online with a copyright attached—but looking for all those images one-by-one somewhere on the Web is time-consuming, and I'd be willing to bet they're all in some state of copyvio.

- These notices and discussions are a bit scattered over various WP:PUI logs for a number of different days.
- I recommend that you post the combined multi-image multi-user multi-log info where it can get the exposure it needs, for example on the current Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images/2008 August 29.

- I knew nothing about any of this before Image:ABQ.jpg turned up in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. My view is that you two should ride point on this: compile as much of it as you can, tagging for deletion, post them all in a single section in a single day's log (today's if you're that quick), and another chunk of the problem can be dispatched. — Athaenara ✉ 04:54, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

I created this image entirely by myself" and the flickr.com "sparkys pics" link. — Athaenara ✉ 22:28, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- I was wondering about asking for a re-do of the checkuser on Dowhatyoudo--because otherwise, do I tag Burns37 as a sock of PolTX, or as a sock of Dowhatyoudo? If I ask for both to be checked, I think it sounds like I'm fishing. But if I ask about a re-do of Dowhatyoudo, I think it sounds as if I have a problem with the RFCU process. Either way, I think they might turn the request down flat.

Hi. :) I was about to respond to this one when you got to it. I just wanted to give you a heads up, as you may not have noticed that, while hosted at About, it was actually text from the US Manual for Courts Martial, which is a Department of Defense publication in public domain. (Funny. I never noticed it was pluralized "courts martial." But open that at your risk. It's 891 pages long! I thought my computer was dead for good! But if you do decide to open it, the material is on page 294.) I wanted to just let you know, because G12 doesn't actually apply to that one, although it's got plenty of other issues. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:21, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Since you are the last editor listed as having deleted the page, I am posting this here. Thanks in advance. --VictorC (talk) 16:49, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- The version I deleted in June showed up in the CSD category with a {{db-g12}} tag as a copyright infringement of www.webpan.com. It had been deleted twice before: once as a copyvio (an earlier tag noted that the webpan copyvio was mirrored on brainyencyclopedia.com) and once for no indication of notability (after the copyvio text was removed) as per {{db-person}}. Hi - I originally put all the tags and then only later the csd when i realised that the links at the base of the article had nothing to do with the group. We often have fly by edits of articles that come in english (usually very poor) or even Indonesian into the Indonesian project - and never hear from the editors again - it can be very frustrating at times as either their english is so poor that they do not understand either the notices or what is happening. Apologies for having muddied things by the tags and then the csd - probably should have left it with just one or the other - there are easily 100 articles in the indonesian project with similar issues - slowly trying to resolve them SatuSuro 01:08, 12 March 2009 (UTC) Just saw your delete - oh well another issue solved - but there are always more in the wings :( SatuSuro 01:10, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

I believe that my article - Astro & Glyde - was deleted under false pretenses. While it may have originally been slightly biased, I subsequently altered the article to make it objective. After this was done, no justification was provided as to what was wrong with my article or why it was deleted. It no longer met the previous criterion, yet it was deleted under a criterion that only applied to the original edition. I believe that the deletion was far too hasty, aggressive and assumptive in nature. Can you please either give me some indication of what was wrong with the article, or reinstate it? Thanks. I've reversed your deletion of Mikogo, as, having reviewed it, I don't feel that CSD G11 applied. I don't think that the article constitutes blatant advertising. If you disagree with my action, or otherwise want to discuss it, feel free to revert my action. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 00:25, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Undelete request
Hi, Athaenara. You deleted some of my user space per my {{db-u1}} requests on Nov 25. I see them here.
I would like those pages undeleted, please. I'm sorry for the fuss; there has been much wiki-drama in the last week. Some of my pages were deleted by User:Willking1979 here and I will posting a similar request, there.
My intent is to get back everything in Special:DeletedContributions/Jack Merridew concerning my user space for that day. If yet someone else handled deleting something here, I'd like that, too.
I'm going to blank User:Jack Merridew as I'm after the restoration of the page histories and once all is back I will take the pages somewhere I've not quite determined.
I noticed User:Athaenara/Gallery on your page and thought you might be interested in this current discussion:
- WP:ANI#Jack Merridew's disruptive signature (or a recent archive) [archives 582 & 583]
Really, it's just a sideshow in a much larger bit of drama-mongering.

Could you please undelete and userfy Erik Gatmaitán to User:SMcCandlish/Erik Gatmaitán? (You were the deleting admin.) The player is certainly notable (he's in the top 100 pros in a major international sport with hundreds of years of history, so he's very much more notable that probably 90% of the football/soccer player articles on the system, most of whom are "notable" only in that they are/were pros at all). I can certainly find multiple reliable independent sources to establish notability, and hopefully make it less of a stub, with facts from those sources. It's not the highest priority on my to-do list, but this one should return. One of the problems with prod is that it's easy to target articles that are within the scope of projects that have few active participants: If a couple of those people are busy that week and don't notice, articles disappear that shouldn't. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō)ˀ Contribs. 07:46, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Yeah you are right sorry for adding the speedy delete tag on my talk page. I would like to vanish but before I do I would just like all my user-space deleted; I don't know how I go about doing that. Any chance you could point me in the right direction.--intraining Jack In 07:18, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I think the easiest way is to tag your user page (and subpages and talk subpages) with {{db-u1}} and then archive your main talk page. Archiving's easy: just move it to User talk:Theoneintraining/Archive (see moving a page), then add {{talkarchive}} at the top. That will leave a redirect on your main talk page which you can replace with {{retired}} and an {{archive box}}. – Athaenara ✉ 11:55, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- If you don't mind me asking, how come I can not get my talk page deleted?--intraining Jack In 13:14, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Right to vanish covers it, I think. Even easier than what I suggested: tag your userpage and subpages for deletion, blank your talk page (put a retired template on it if you wish), and stop any newsletter deliveries. – Athaenara ✉ 21:03, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

IP user talk page deletion
Why did you delete User talk:174.100.202.111? It's a record of the vandalism warnings! Of course someone wants to delete it. It's not like they're a real user. Can we restore it? - Denimadept (talk) 15:15, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
- You were the only editor to that page, and you removed all the warnings you had given, saying "nvmd." That's a valid WP:CSD#G7 deletion, and Athaenara beat me to the punch by about an hour (serves me right for going to bed). Moreover, IPs provide the majority of the content here - saying "It's not like they're a real user" like that matters at all is really unwarranted. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 15:30, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
- In that case, nvmd. :-D - Denimadept (talk) 17:44, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

- Back in February, the sole author had added one line and immediately blanked it (see Amory's post above). You are certainly free to post vandalism warnings on the user's talk page at any time when it would be appropriate to do so. – Athaenara ✉ 05:44, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of IP talkpage
Hello! I see you've deleted User talk:142.167.207.95, however, I wonder why? Your rationale was WP:G7 (One author who has requested deletion or blanked the page), but if the user simply blanked the page, there is no reason to delete. Any block notices, warnings, or similar content is useful and will disable future users; if the user requested deletion (unless they were the only author), WP:G7 wouldn't apply: G7 specifically states "Note that this does not apply to user talk pages, which are not deleted except under very exceptional circumstances: see WP:DELTALK." So, unless there were privacy concerns, harassment, threats, gross offensiveness, or other serious violations, it wouldn't apply. Users frequently blank their page to "hide" warnings and nasty stuff, not realizing we could have looked in the page history (had you not deleted it). —mono 01:23, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Here's the page history:

Just a note, you should really avoid speedy deleting any page that another admin has previously declined to delete this way (I don't say this though because I was the one who declined it). It may lead to wheel-warring and possibly encourage some users to try and game the system by tagging an article again and again until some admin decides to delete it - risks one should try to avoid. Regards SoWhy 06:05, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- You declined it in March 2009, over a year ago, and there had been over twice as many edits since then as before, but they were all minor and there had been no improvement insofar as making it encyclopedic.
- It was in CAT:G11 for two days this time. I gave it a lot of thought, and considered sending it to AfD, but what tipped it for me was the obvious promotional effect of more than thirty external links to the website which markets them. It should go straight to AfD for full discussion if it's restored, but I certainly won't wheel-war over it! – Athaenara ✉ 06:28, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

There was a large amount of personal information I edited over the course of the page's history. I'm glad to know that no one now can look up the username and learn about me in modest detail. It says that you deleted page "08:29, 2 August 2010 Athaenara (talk | contribs) deleted "Talk:Ibrahim Quraishi/Temp" (G8: Page dependent on a deleted or nonexistent page)" Why? Even though it clearly states that admins don't delete. I was working on it. I understand why the first page was deleted even though it was not a copyright infringement as I had permission to use the bio. So I changed it completely. What gives?

a suggestion
→ see also: Tha truth (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
User:Burpelson AFB recently placed a WP:CSD#G7 on Tha Truth/ Tha NonConformist Movement.
I am afraid this G7 was an instance of a hasty, careless nomination. Burpelson was not the sole author of Tha Truth/ Tha NonConformist Movement -- they left a heads-up on User talk:Ppleen, the contributor who did create the article. Their heads-up says they placed a {{prod}} on the article, not an G7.
No offense, but isn't the speedy deletion process supposed to require two sets of eyes to look at the article? Shouldn't the deleting administrator check the article's history, when they encounter a G7, to guard against careless nominators who claim to be the sole author -- when they aren't?
I see User:Ppleen has several admonishments since Burpelson's heads-up. Unfortunately, hasty and uncivil new page patrollers turn good faith newbies into vandals.
May I make a suggestion? Why not regard the G7 Burpelson did apply to have been the {{prod}} they said they were going to apply, and restore the article, and let the {{prod}} run its full seven days? Geo Swan (talk) 03:00, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ppleen, the sole author, blanked the page after Burpelson AFB added a prod tag; Dwayne reverted that edit, and Jeff G. added the {{db-g7}} tag which is consistent with sole-author page blanking. – Athaenara ✉ 03:14, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Deleted talk pages
→ in re: Talk:Yoso (log) and Talk:Trysting Tree (log)
I would like to apologize if I did anything wrong, as far as the talk pages that I "created". I still have a lot to learn here, and I'm not quite sure what I'm doing. I came across several articles (Yoso, and Trysting Tree, for example), that were, for lack of a kinder word, just terrible articles. I realized that if I cleaned up these articles, I would have to remove just about everything written. As there were no real BLP violations, I figured the safest thing for me to do would be to simply place "original research" tags on them. Of course, the OR tag suggests using the talk page, as a means of attempting to make improvements. Several articles, these two among them, had a red-link talk page. I figured (perhaps not too brightly) that it would be inappropriate to suggest discussion on a page that doesn't exist. This is why I "created" these pages. They were talk pages for actual long-standing articles. I blanked them, as I felt that it was less than prudent to have a page that says simply, "page created". I did (or at least I think I did) leave an edit summary each time, explaining the reason why I created, and then blanked. After noticing that you deleted them, I figured it was just a misunderstanding, and so I created, and then blanked them again. I've now gotten to thinking that maybe I shouldn't have done that, and that you deleted them because I didn't know what the hell I was doing in the first place. So again, I apologize if I've caused you any trouble. I acted with the best of intentions. Please let me know if I should have gone about it in a different manner. Thank you! 2tuntony (talk) 00:34, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- I deleted them after they turned up in Wikipedia:Database reports/Blank single-author pages. I apologize, it was dim of me not to understand your intention from the "blanked page/original post was to begin page, as article is tagged, with discussion suggested" and "blanked page/page created in response to original research tag in article" edit summaries. I'll certainly not delete them again, but be aware that if they remain blank they will probably be included in that database report again, so someone else may delete them. – Athaenara ✉ 01:14, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Category talk:UConn Huskies
→ see also: history and page log
Hello. I saw you deleted the page Category talk:UConn Huskies under speedy deletion criteria WP:CSD#G8, as it is a talk page of a page that does not exist. However, I believe this page should be restored. Originally there was discussion at several different places over the correct name for the categories for University of Connecticut athletic teams, that eventually coalesced into an RfC. Consensus at the RfC was to rename Category:UConn Huskies as Category:Connecticut Huskies, which was then done through a subsequent CfD. The RfC was originally located at Category talk:UConn Huskies, which after the CfD was moved to Category talk:Connecticut Huskies. However, the deletion of the original Category talk page caused the links to the RfC in the original scattered discussions to go red. In order to make it easier for anyone who later finds one of the archived discussions to find the RfC, I recreated the original talk page as a redirect. I believe this page should be an exception to the G8 criteria as it is, to quote the criteria itself, "useful to the project". I probably should have tagged the page with {{G8-exempt}} except I just learned of the existence of this template. Please restore the redirect or let me know why you think it should stay deleted. Thanks for your attention. –Grondemar 15:58, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi! I have just discover that the page I have created for Andrea Liberovici has been deleted. I was wondering why, since I provided references (mr liberovici's official website + an essay in which his work is mentioned). The note I got said that there was a conflict of interest, but I am not in any way affiliated to Mr Liberovici, nor I know him in person. I am only a big fan of his work and wanted to pay tribute by spreading the news on who he was! Plus, there is an italian version of the Andrea Liberovici wikipage: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrea_Liberovici and that hasn't been deleted! Why is that? I am new and not so expert on these matters, I just wanted to salute a musician I really like and thought creating a wiki page would have been a great way to do so... thanks for your time and assistance. hope to hear from you and to recieve advices on how to have this wiki page published!! thanks! valentina —Preceding unsigned comment added by Liberovici (talk • contribs) 11:35, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Blood Money
Hi,
Can you tell me what happened to Blood Money (documentary)? I see it was deleted under "G7: One author who has requested deletion or blanked the page". But looking at the editors contributions I can't see any such request or blanking.
I am only interested because I gave some feedback at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2010 August 19#User:Morgankevinj/Blood_Money_(documentary). I followed this up on the article talk page when the article was moved to main space, but I can't see those comments now because the talk page has been deleted.
My first thought when I saw that the page has been deleted for G7 was that User:Morgankevinj didn't like my feedback or couldn't be bothered to respond to it. But after looking at his edits I am now not so sure.

A recently g7 deleted file
Howdy. You recently deleted File:2007roadruleslogo.jpg. Now that the file is deleted, I have a question. The edit previous to mine on that image marked it as speedy due to sensitive metadata. I checked the image with this tool and this tool and neither of them showed anything sensitive. Are you aware of any sensitive metadata on that image? I'm not asking what that information might have been, only if it was actually there. I'm also asking because if the previous editor was tagging my resize as having sensitive info, I would prefer to fix that. :) I know I could ask the original uploader, but I'd like to make sure I'm not losing my mind first. :) Rockfang (talk) 00:04, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

- It was tagged for deletion per {{db-g11}} by RBHendrick ("Add db-g11; this article is pure advertising, with all links and references pointing to the company site") and deleted in January 2010. I've restored and re-tagged it per your expressed intention to update it. – Athaenara ✉ 21:24, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Related question (coincidence)
→ in re: User:Michael P. Barnett/draft (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Thanks for deleting the talk page in my User space as requested. The fact that there is a visible record that a talk page with its title once existed is inconsequential. I have another sub-page /Surgeon of Crowthorne. I created this when I was just starting to use WP. I did not realize this was the wrong way to try editing an article tentatively. Now, the sub-page redirects to Surgeon of Crowthorne. Just as a matter of building my knowledge of WP coding, is it possible to delete this sub-page and, if so, how? Unless this is trivial and will not waste time of Administrator, I do not mind leaving it as is. I will check back here. Michael P. Barnett (talk) 15:44, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- Just replace the content with {{db-u1}}. – Athaenara ✉ 16:12, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I just looked at Template:Db-u1/doc . I am not confident that I understand it. If I replace the content of Surgeon of Crowthorne with anything, I destroy it (at least temporarily). Is the tactic to do this, with the db-u1 deleting the page that is redirected to Surgeon of Crowthorne, and then restore the content of this page from the history? Seems a bit scary. Hope I misunderstood. Michael P. Barnett (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:19, 15 December 2010 (UTC).
- Sorry I wasn't sufficiently clear! The db-u1 tag displays the user's request for deletion, and, more invisibly, puts the page in the Category:Candidates for speedy deletion by user, after which the first admin who sees it will delete the tagged page. A redirect from userspace to article space isn't particularly useful to the encyclopedia, so deletion is a good idea, and has no effect on The Surgeon of Crowthorne in mainspace. – Athaenara ✉ 17:34, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Postitnz's articles
Hi, I am concerned that User:Postitnz has been thoroughly and, I believe, unfairly bitten. You deleted Otaki Forks and Catchpool Valley per the user's db-author requests, but those requests were put on after the biting. I have not yet communicated with the user in question - I was just looking at the situation when you deleted the articles. Would you look at the talk pages of that user and Active Banana and see if you agree with me? LadyofShalott 02:17, 23 December 2010 (UTC) P.S. Lest there be any confusion, I am absolutely not accusing you of biting this new editor. LadyofShalott 02:20, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think some of Active Banana's posts on User talk:Postitnz looked bitey, as you say, and perhaps looked worse than they were because they were replies to Postitnz's messages on User talk:Active Banana. To my mind that's supporting evidence for an assertion that replies should be on the page on which the original messages were posted, but that's a separate issue, and I rarely wade in between people who seem to be having a little trouble getting along. I would not oppose a decision to undelete the articles to give them time to be improved. – Athaenara ✉ 04:12, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking and commenting. I will offer to userfy the articles for Postitnz to see if the editor would like to have time to work on them. I don't know how notable those subjects were, but they did not look irretrievable to me. Perhaps the editor can find some guide books or something to provide some better sourcing for them. (As for keeping discussions in one place, I certainly prefer it - they are much easier to follow that way!) LadyofShalott 04:33, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
