Burns37 - based on his image uploads is a sock of Dowhatyoudo, who I agree is a sock of PolTX, based on his interests and on the that it always takes him at least five edits to make a simple change. Mar87144‎ - I believe this is a different person. His interests are in schools in the Four Corners area (northwest area of the state) while PolTx is interested in the small area of Albuquerque-Santa Fe-Los Alamos-Española which is north central; also he usually only needs one try to make a change. The image really is the school logo (or at least the athletic team logo), so it's OK to upload it as long as there's a FUR. I don't think we should write FURs for other people, so it's OK to flag FUR-less images for deletion. --Uncia (talk) 04:07, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Burns37 and Dowhatyoudo were blocked on 2008-09-13 by Zedla as suspected sock puppets of PoliticianTexas. --Uncia (talk) 13:25, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just to clarify, Dowhatyoudo was blocked for copyvio by User:Black Kite on 2008-08-29, the ssp tag is there for categorization purposes. – Zedla (talk) 13:41, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Camera: After studying the images and locating a number of the originals, I believe the images uploaded by PoliticianTexas under that name and taken with a SONY DSC-P41 camera (see metadata at bottom of photo) are authentically his and would not be copyright violations. Most of these are low quality and should be replaced or deleted from the articles. I also believe that any photos by any of his aliases, or that use different cameras or have no metadata, are plagiarized and need to be deleted. --Uncia (talk) 15:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Logo: The logos used are basically OK under fair use. Most of them have problems and should be cleaned up; problems include dodgy sources (is this the real logo?), large image uploaded (should be low-res, just big enough for use in article), no fair use rationale given, and used in articles other than those claimed for fair use. I will fix these up later. File:THS design.png (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) is an exception—it is a copyright violation of the Cincinnati Bengals logo and has been flagged for PUI. --Uncia (talk) 15:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All logos are fixed. Some older ones are pending deletion after 7 days. --Uncia (talk) 23:02, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, if we need a cause for deletion, if it's on Flickr with any rights reserved, that's sufficient--doesn't matter if it's his account or not. Dori (TalkContribs)
They are on Flickr with a non-commercial license (cc-by-nc-sa), which is an incompatible license for Wikipedia, so they should be deletable. --Uncia (talk) 01:16, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I hereby award this Wikipedian symbol of merit to Uncia and DoriSmith
for their diligence in indentifying copyright-violating images for removal
from the encyclopedia. — Athaenara 02:00, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Please feel free to copy this to your respective user pages, substituting some
other barnstar[s] of your choice[s] if you wish.) Athaenara 02:00, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I've never gotten a barnstar before :-) Dori (TalkContribs) 02:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks too! Also my first barnstar! --Uncia (talk) 02:32, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
