Hello Athaenara,
I've noticed that the article, AMAX Information Technologies, I created was removed due to the reason that it contains blantant advertising. I am still new to creating articles on Wikipedia so I'm not aware if my writing crosses over any boundaries. I only wish to have an article for this company in a neutral point of view and yet, informative for others who are researching for this company. Can you provide me any tips or help what I would need to remove/revised in the contents of that article so it would be okay to have it up? Thank you. Amaxhelen (talk) 16:57, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Is there a way I can retrieve the article to revise, and somehow test it out to make sure it's compliable (rather then keep reposting it live and having it tagged if it's still not following guidelines)? I would appreciate all the help I can get, thank you! Amaxhelen (talk) 21:40, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Shozam page deletion

Dear Athaenara,
Our Shozam Wiki page was deleted for "blatant advertising." However, we included credible, third-party sources in our article. Additionally, other software program similar to Shozam have not been deleted, including:

Please advise as to why our page was deleted when we followed the reference guidelines, and other software programs are allowed, but not ours. Please consider relisting our Shozam article.

Yes but i don’t see where the issue lies... If it was a typo then my bad... I was enthusiasm in redoing the wiki and getting it solid for a return. If my page is informative, contains what is needed as in references and link per last creation & is not a conflict of interest just a typo then why was it removed? It has every right to be there since it is a legit valid sport in Manchester nh. And I ask you if you check out New Hampshire Roller Derby who are the Nashua team for comparison, they have less info and there wiki has less info and there wiki needs work they won’t thru the same issue with wiki admin’s and they got it up why not us? Why not remove them? In fact if you look at any derby wiki you'll see the same amount of information is posted on any page and there all fine. Were all teams we all play roller derby and we all want people to know about us and on wiki. Were a part of NH were a part of Manchester & I’m requesting that it be reverted back to what it was. If not i want to know exactly on the page what is wrong and where so it can be fixed. Thanks for your time Team1up (talk) 18:10, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Editing Michael Covel

I have made changes to Michael Covel in order to better fit the guidelines set forth by Wikipedia. It is not my intent to create useless pages on Wikipedia. I am new to Wikipedia and just learning they correct style of writing for this Encyclopedia.
The other pages referencing Michael W. Covel and Michael W Covel where supposed to be tests on Sandbox and not published. I still do not know how to delete articles (can you?) that you did not intend to show on Wikipedia. I think the Michael Covel article (only the one Michael Covel article) is relevant and would serve the Wikipedia Community as a reference/resource for economic perspective. Any advice on how to make the article as neutral as possible would be greatly appreciated. I also want to be clear that I do not have a close connection to Michael Covel or any of his associates/affiliates. I found the content I read in is books relevant enough to share with others. Please can you explain why all the accounting wiki pages listed here Comparison of accounting software are permitted, but ClearBooks got deleted? I have used references. I have used a similar format to the accounting software listed in Comparison of accounting software. ClearBooks is a web based accounting software product. These types of online apps are a new growing market that are not represented on wikipedia. These are the fast growth companies that will be competing with the incumbent likes of Sage, QuickBooks and other desktop software packages. For those reasons I believe a) ClearBooks merits its own page on wikipedia b) Once listed it should be represented in the Comparison of accounting software TimFouracre (talk) 08:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

- Yes. References and impartial and that's what I attempted. I first tried creating Clear Books a while back and got feedback from the person that deleted that that I should try again with references in the future. I did this but put it on ClearBooks as that is the correct name.
- My talk page that got deleted was me writing the article first on a test page.
- Look at this for example ALERE Accounting which only has external links to itself and very little content. How is that permitted, but the article I wrote deleted?
- It's just a bit annoying that the article is deleted with no record, and my time has been wasted. In your view what needs to be done to the original article to make it satisfactory?
- Thanks

E-Slate article
→ in re: deleted article
Why are you deleting E-Slate article for copyright infringement? I'm one of the E-Slate authors (George Birbilis - http://www.zoomicon.com) and I can't site our text from http://e-slate.cti.gr because some other guys at Edumedia wiki copied the text to their wiki first? (not that I mind them having copied our text there). E-Slate is free educational software used in Greek schools (and in other places in the worlds). Parts of it are opensource (e.g. E-Slate Logo)
Note that E-Slate is historical software (not being actively developed [mostly maintained] since its team has split or left [see www.talent.gr startup] many years ago) and I was at E-Slate team from 1997 to 2001 so I have lots of years detachment from it. The text does need some editing to also add shortcomings of the platform, but is pretty much accurate to what E-Slate offers in the educational and academic spaces. Saying original text can't be reused on Wikipedia even if its authors say it can, just because some others copied it somewhere else first sounds strange to me —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tziortzioti (talk • contribs) 15:11, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

FNC, Inc.

Hello,
I was wondering if you could speak with me maybe through email or some other way of communication so I can get my company's page on wikipedia. I know that it keeps getting deleted because the material is said to be a blatant copyright. Is there a way to provide wikipedia with this information so this problem will not occur. I went through our information and tried to change it up so that it would not be a blatant copyright, but it still was deleted. What is the best way to solve this problem. I was wondering if you could tell me in your terms and not wikipedia's automated messages. Thanks alot. Wfgillis (talk) 21:27, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- The primary problem is your conflict of interest. {{Uw-coi}} information was posted on your talk page in April regarding Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines (diff).

- You were given good advice last month on your talk page and on the help desk (Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2009 April 20#Contributing to Wikipedia). RTFM applies (the "advertisements masquerading as articles" and "how not to be a spammer" sections of the Wikipedia:Spam guideline are helpful). — Athaenara ✉ 02:30, 23 May and 05:25, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- So I read over the different guidelines and articles that you included. I have rewritten the article about FNC but I didn't want to submit it without speaking with someone first. Should repost the article about FNC or should I email or send it to you? I think I have followed the guidelines, as they were pretty self-explanatory and make Wikipedia make more sense to me. Let me know what my next step of action should be, and I'll follow that. Wfgillis (talk) 22:17, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- The most direct approach is simply to create the article in the usual way. New page patrollers will see it, and it will be tagged (or not).
- Alternatively, you could create it in your userspace (User:Wfgillis/FNC draft for example) and then explain the situation on the Conflict of interest/Noticeboard and ask for feedback there about its mainspace suitability. — Athaenara ✉ 03:30, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

→ in re: deleted LDRA Ltd and Ldra articles
Hi Athaenara,
I originally posted an LDRA page while ago and it was deleted. I then got some feedback from TexasAndroid who then suggested I come up with something he could go over. I posted a new page based on his suggestions and mentioned it to him for feedback. Before a few hours had progressed, StaticGull (I believe) had marked the page for deletion. I added a "hold on" tag and asked for suggestions prior to deletion since I had gone to great lengths to give 3rd party references and to add meaningful content for unique technologies that have help revolutionized the embedded software testing space.
StaticGull's message: A page you created, LDRA Ltd, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for companies in particular.
Vicenarian posted a similar warning. I had a discussion with him on the "discussion page"/talk page for the article. He then gave me some pointers which I followed. I asked for a bit more time to get even more third party references as these technologies are used and referred to by many journals, electronic publications, and companies.
within a few hours I found the page deleted for the same reasons.
On the point that this is a company and the article does not indicate how it is important or significant, I have added very specific details and pointed to third party artifacts validating its place in software testing pecking order.
Even if I were to make all the changes requested, how do I ensure that I'm dealing with a particular admin wikipedia and a different admin with a slightly different interpretation of the rules won't delete the article and all my work?
I have used these tools in the past and found them to be quite extraordinary. I find some of their competitors to be listed very similarly and yet they are able to maintain their content on wikipedia.
I would very much appreciate if I could have some guidance and some sort of consistent review so I may present this material without repeatedly having it deleted.
Best regards,

Prometheus Group/Sock Puppet

Greetings, my account was recently flagged for possibly being a sock puppet of another user, Jl437. To escalate this issue, the article on Prometheus Group was deleted while I was in the process of fixing the page to match Wikipedia's policies.
The copyright and advertising issues can be resolved should the page be re-reviewed, but deleting the page once it has shifted editors doesn't help me to do that.
What would you suggest I do in this case?

- Yes I did, and I agree there were COI violations in the old version of the page. I'd like to remedy those issues while still meeting the guidelines, but I'm facing two uphill battles *sock puppet/COI problems*.
- I'm assuming the sock puppet issues needs to be dealt with before I can fix the article COI issue.
- Do you agree?
- Two accounts (or three with the anonIP 70.62.118.144 you used for your first post on the article's talk page) trying to promote their company on this encyclopedia with the same COI will be shot down almost as fast as the promotion was. You should be aware of what you are doing and how it will be perceived. The "advertisements masquerading as articles" and "how not to be a spammer" sections of the Wikipedia:Spam guideline are pertinent. — Athaenara ✉ 14:41, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't deny that the first revisions of the page we're ill-created. However, I'm not attempting to spam. My proxy routes me through the same network, so my IP address won't change from the other account. I would appreciate the chance to rectify these issues. We're simply trying to create an informational page given our ties with SAP. The first person to attempt this, as you noticed, did not come anywhere near close to achieving it. Please allow me to clean up the article, all advertising and promotion will be removed from the page.
- K3nsanders (talk) 14:46, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I recommend you take your issues to the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard to get more feedback about the situation and your take on it. Other neutral editors, and particularly admins who will be able to read and compare the deleted versions of the article, may be more helpful than I. — Athaenara ✉ 14:55, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I have posted on the noticeboard about both the page deletion and the flagging of my account. Thank you for your redirection and guidance. Hopefully this issue will resolve itself in the near future.

IF? Records and Little Nobody
→ in re: IF? Records (hist), Little Nobody (hist), {{db-g11}}, and COI spas Nina phunsta, Popstarr69, Shareradar, DSK1984
→ see also: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Little Nobody (2nd nomination)
"nina phunsta" is associated with IF Records so there is a clear conflict of interest.
A Google search for nina phunsta adequately demonstrates the above claim when reading through various posts on forums. [1][2] Various forum profiles of nina phunsta contain the IF Records website in their signature. This is in contrast to previous claims that Andrez Bergen is a former writing colleague on nina phunsta's talk page [3][4].
"DSK 1984" is harder to pinpoint as it is a relatively newer handle but a Google search presents forum posts mostly related to IF records.[5]
As for the Little Nobody page:
- ^ Wayward Seafarers Review, Chris Downton. 3D World, June 2008.
This review does not exist on the 3D World website, the link is to the homepage of that website. There are no other external links under references that can be used to verify any of the text on the Wikipedia page. Some of the articles cited are recent so a link to the article on the web version of the newspapers should be provided. The ABC artist profile is the only reliable source and is dated, from 2003 and refers only to a local dance music scene. Many of the links under External Links are broken.
Much of the information appears to be fabricated as it does not appear anywhere else when performing a Google search. Colloquial language in background information: "Website Little Nobody's dodgy MySpace site". This indicates that the article is largely a puff piece.
Thus, articles related to Little Nobody and IF Records should be removed for: 1. not meeting notability guidelines; and 2. being written in an advertising format 3. large amounts of unverifiable information WaltonSimons1 (talk) 17:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- (1) No admin has denied the speedy yet but (although it was tagged 12 or more hours ago) neither has anyone deleted it. I agree that it's spam and deserves deletion. The problem may be that, promotional puffery that it is, it's been around for so long, but that can cut both ways. — Athaenara ✉ 18:00, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- (2) Jclemens has since declined db-g11 (diff), recommending {{prod}} or AFD. I did a spam cleanup, explaining why in my edit summary (diff). — Athaenara ✉ 04:40, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. The broken external links should also be dealt with according to Wikipedia policy and citations requested for the majority of the information posted. That should allow administrators to conclude that the page does not meet notability criteria and is unverifiable. I will attempt this soon. WaltonSimons1 (talk) 08:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- You are welcome. Both articles need more {{fact}} tags for specific claims. It's great that you're willing to take the time to check links and references. — Athaenara ✉ 08:16, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi there this is David (DSK), I've been following and building on Little Nobody site as an experiment to see how to do this and to try to build a good coverage of Melbournes techno people in general. I'm not an If? Recods person, but a big fan. Any way, I want to see if I can make this better to suit guidelines but I would love help/advice as I'm new at this. Some of the interviews/reviews are from the 1990's so most magazines didn't have Web sites then, so tricky to verify, but I'll try and contact them and see. If I do (somehow!) manage to finds editors/writers, what would you need as proof from them? Thanking you in advance, DSK1984 (talk) 16:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- An enyclopedia article doesn't have the same role as websites for artists or record companies. It may be appropriate and even expected that the latter will include reviews, particularly if they're positive, but an encyclopedia article must be neutral rather than promotional (see the Wikipedia neutral point of view policy and spam guideline). — Athaenara ✉ 00:09, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Athaenara
This is David DSK on Wikipedia.
I have a concerns about WaltonSimons1. I noticed he's a new addition, and his sign-up and focus on the Little Nobody entry strangely coincides with a very aggressive individual known as V-Tronon the ITM Forum whose been personally attacking Andrez (Little Nobody) quite publicly on the forum threads there over the past few days.
For instance this posting by him, which openly refers to the Little Nobody entry on Wikipedia: [7]
And this one which has a picture of the Little Nobody Wikipedia revision history - right before WaltonSimons1 got involved: [8]
And this one which refers to smashing both Andrez and seems angry at me too: [9]
I have no proof that this is WaltonSimons1, but the suspicion remains.
So while I think this entry definitely needs attention and clean-up, it may be better if both he/she (and me, if you think appropriate) are removed from the process, to ensure it's fair. Can we ask someone else (or yourself) to follow through? If deletion happens, it would be fair of course, but I worry about this individual. DSK1984 (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm deliberately trying to stay away from the Little Nobody entry as per your advice, but its disappointing to see him doing this. Hello,
I created an article called: South Bay Riders
I understand that it looks like a promotion, but I assure you it's not. One of my 6,000 users requested it. I'm sure that once the page is established it will be edited by the many active members to reflect the uniqueness and very popular forum. There are many things that make SBR unique and it would be nice to have a Wiki page that describes this.
As for news references, there really isn't much out there. Why, because SBR is the news source. We have nearly 900,000 articles and over 200,000 images. We create the news and we do it at no charge.
I hope you reconsider and not delete the page.
