Talk pages

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 18:37, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Reach Out (Hilary Duff song), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Groove Coverage - Because I Love You.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 06:39, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Don't Wit Tha South, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Don't Wit Tha South is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Don't Wit Tha South, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Rehab (song)

[edit]

Please do not move articles unless there is a good reason to do it. You recently moved "Rehab (song)" to "Rehab (Amy Winehouse song)". Currently there is no other song article titled "Rehab" so there was no reason to do this. Please read WP:SONGS, in particular the naming conventions section, to learn more about how to title articles. Additionally, when you move a page, you need to check all of the page's links to make sure there are no unecessary redirects, which you did not do with "Rehab". Thanks. - eo 14:05, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ATV current logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ATV current logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:32, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Innocence (Avril Lavigne song). When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Merges and speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you merged Umbrella (Manics cover version) into Umbrella (song) and tagged the former with {{db-c1}}. The merge was pretty much OK, but the tagging wasn't—the C1 criterion for speedy deletion applies only to categories, not articles. The next time you perform a merge, please follow the instructions at Help:Merging and moving pages to the letter, especially noting the article name in your edit summaries. This is very important to ensure WP:GFDL is preserved. If you have any questions, feel free to drop by my Talk page. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 12:06, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move tag

[edit]

Hi! You added a move tag to Kill the Lights (song) here. I've removed the tag, because move tags should be placed on the talk page, not in the article itself. Feel free to place the tag on the talk page, and remember to give a reason why you think the page should be moved. Thanks, Jafeluv (talk) 09:45, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:The Fame revised.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:The Fame revised.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 05:51, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Arthurfung! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 331 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

May 2012

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Call My Name (Cheryl Cole song) appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this. Thank you. It hasn't charted, so no chart. Aaron You Da One 18:43, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Are U Ready

[edit]

The article Are U Ready has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
