Castleroid
[edit]I'll start revising the article (w/justification) sometime this week. It will be something along the lines of: 1) redefine the term 2) focus on Castlevania games and 3) remove material to which the term cannot reasonably be applied. I think it will be easier to just change it and immediately defend said changes on the talk page. Making some sort of proposal will just result in people waffling about what to do.
It's nice to see that someone else is concerned about this sort of thing. Guermantes 04:00, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Merge Vote on Ultraviolet map
[edit]Hi I was thinking about taking this whole merge discussion in an entirely different direction. Instead of merging the info on the poorly named Ultraviolet map into the unfocused The DHARMA Initiative. How about we expand on Silentplanet's idea and create sub sections on known Hatches?
Remember the "The DHARMA Initiative" article is supposed to focus on what it is. Adding more information to "the Swan" only shows that this hatch should be expanded upon in another article. The title of this article after all is not "The DHARMA Hatches." To me it looks like we should put in some information about what exactly the DHARMA Initiative is. We should give some history on it maybe include the information on the film and then some brief information about the hatches and what they are. Hatches that we know more about like "The Swan" should have its own page that would then contain information such as "the Map", "The Timer", etc... I think that this is a more reasonable solution and would also make it a more logical solution as an encyclopedia article. Please let me know what you think (in your talk page)! And if you do agree please note that on your merge vote! Thanks -- UKPhoenix79 03:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Peter Crouch
[edit]Deserves some kind of mention re body popping
- No, I don't think he necessarily does. My personal opinion on Peter Crouch: I think it's fun that he's taken on the "Robot" thing, however he truly sucks at it (there are skilled robot dancers out there). He is mentioned in the Robot dance article, and that's all he deserves on dance.
- To quote Crouch himself: "It's not about robotic dancing. It is about scoring goals and winning matches. ...". Crouch is about soccer, not dancing. Arru 09:54, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Dancer?
[edit]thanks a lot for contributing to the breakdancing references—setting my ignorance in place with the actual "it's like that" date of release. whew...i hope i don't do that again.
i did a whole lot of surgery on the article in the past few months and i'm really proud of the results. what do you think of it? also, if it's not too much of a nuisance, i was wondering if you could help me out with the media sub-section, which is the last portion in need of some serious work.
thanks again!

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dark Castle-icon.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Dark Castle-icon.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image:DaveElsewhere-kollaboration.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:DaveElsewhere-kollaboration.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 20:32, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:Apache_Strike-icon.png
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Apache_Strike-icon.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 16:02, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Hanso-web.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hanso-web.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. AfD nomination for Non-linear exploration
[edit]I got your message about the AfD nomination, but just FYI, the article I once had there was quickly maimed (on the basis of "no one else has researched this yet so you're not supposed to use Wikipedia to document existing phenomenon that no one else has documented yet") and edited into various strange forms, and is long gone anyway (the last I saw of it was that it was combined with the page for Metroidvania or Castleroid or something like that), and for that matter, it now redirects to linearity--in short, it's not really there anymore. So, thanks for the notification, but I don't really care anymore, and besides, I haven't really been active as a Wikipedia contributor for a while now (VERY busy with schoolwork).
In case you're still interested in that topic, here's what I've made of it on my own wiki: http://scripts.mit.edu/~derrict/bulbywiki/index.php?title=Castletroid

Spam in World Builder
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on World Builder, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because World Builder is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting World Builder, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 22:11, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Dave elsewhere
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dave elsewhere, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- The artist is called David "Elsewhere" Bernal, also known as simply "Elsewhere" or sometimes erroneously "David Elsewhere".
All of these are already covered by redirects. I think covering variants calling him "Dave" are stretching it a bit too far.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. uKER (talk) 22:22, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Help the Nordic people

Samogitia (talk) 12:47, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
No, not at the moment. Judging from your other contributions, this is no more than an attempt at manipulating validity and maybe staving off deletion of the english-language version of this article. That is not to say that I don't sympathize with the situation, but Wikipedia isn't the right forum for this and keeping on trying here may even end up hurting your cause. AfD nomination of Hanso Foundation
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Hanso Foundation. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hanso Foundation. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of MacroMind
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on MacroMind requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
