Your request for undeletion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Raymond Suchy. JohnCD (talk) 21:36, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Verifiability and notability
[edit]Welcome, again. As you are new, I would like to explain these two terms, which are relevant to the draft article submission I have undeleted at your request.
- Wikipedia:Verifiability is a fundamental policy, summarised as: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." Material derived only from personal knowledge or private papers is not acceptable.
- Wikipedia:Notability is the name of the test we use to decide what are suitable subjects for articles. It is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? That replaces the subjective question "Do we think this is important or significant?" with the more objective one "Is there evidence that unconnected people think it important or significant?"
