Reminder
Hola Mentors!
Im sending you this reminder because you volunteered to mentor my students in English Advanced B as they become contributing members of the Wikipedia community. We start working with Wikipedia in earnest next week. I ask you to take a look at your entry in the Mentor Table at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors
Please update the information, esp. with what your technical and informational expertise is or, if you have decided that you no longer want to participate, please remove your information from the table. Please watch the pages associated with the project. Students will contact you via your user page and as soon as my students have user pages, I will put them on the navigation bar associated with the project.
I don’t need to remind you that your job is NOT to write their assignments for them, of course. I certainly will tell my students that… and the fact that you are volunteers that don’t have to help them… so they need to be nice. If any students misbehave (tho I don’t expect it) don’t hesistate to contact me and I will take care of it. The goal of this project is to integrate successfully into the Wikipedia community. Anyway… what I really need your help with is helping students get oriented to Wikipedia, make appropriate changes and write about appropriate topics (see Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Syllabus for assignments). I also need your technical expertise… I am only an English teacher after all! I appreciate what technology does for us but I am no technical expert!
Again, thank you for volunteering and you will hear from us again soon! Thelmadatter 19:23, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Thelmadatter
- I'll make sure my information is updated. This is a really great idea, and I can't wait to see it set in motion. Cheers, Arky ¡Hablar! 20:07, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Your NPWatcher application
Dear Arknascar44,
Thank you for applying for NPWatcher! You've been approved to use it. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if there is a newer release (or just add the main page (here) to your watchlist). Report any bugs or feature suggestion here. If you need help, feel free to contact me or join NPWatcher.

Please read edit summaries before speedy deletion tags
If you had read my edit summary, you would have seen that I was "Currently compiling and translating the Frisian and Dutch versions of this article." Because your speedy delete caused an edit conflict, I will have to go back and retranslate it all. Aelffin 15:41, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize for the trouble caused. However, it would be helpful if you translated the article by creating your own sandbox at a page like User:Aelffin/Sandbox, and then doing the work there. That way, you could copy-paste the text from your sandbox into the article page. I will delete the speedy tag. Sorry again for the trouble, and I assure you I meant no offense, Arky ¡Hablar! 15:47, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- For a longer article, I would have, but I didn't realize how itchy some editors' trigger fingers are. Thanks for deleting the notice. Aelffin 15:51, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Heh, itchy indeed. I just downloaded NPWatcher, and it's a bit quick for me. I'll get used to it in time....thanks for the heads-up about my mistake! Cheers, Arky ¡Hablar! 15:53, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- Just a suggestion, but, anything I write, that I might be upset to lose, or, that'd take more than 5 mins or so to redo, due to edit conflicts, and the unreliability of computers in general, I do in an external editor (I like Emacs, but, I'm odd)... Also, Generally, in an edit conflict, the original text you tried to submit, can be found in the text box at the bottom of the page (SEE: Help:Edit conflict). So, you really shouldn't have had to retranslate the whole article. HTH! --SQL(Query Me!) 18:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- What I usually do is select all the text I've edited, copy it, then hit save and if I get an edit conflict, I've still got my work on the clipboard. In this case, I must have forgotten or failed to properly hit "ctrl+c" because when I tried to paste it, I got my last clipboard save. I could have been more careful, Arknascar could have been more careful. Not a big deal, just a little extra work. Aelffin 21:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

List of Left-Handed Whatevers
Hey, No need to drop me a line on my talk page, I saw the argument on [1] and followed the link to the article of the same name I created. As it said in the edit history, I was expecting it to be taken down asap, but seriously... you can't resist something like that. --Torchwood Who? 19:29, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
- I appreciate your attempt to lighten up the encyclopedia, but please remember, we're writing an encyclopedia with encyclopedia content. If you want to write articles like that, I would suggest you go to Uncyclopedia, where things like that are commonplace and wanted. No harm done though, the article is deleted now, (but please try to write informative articles) Arky ¡Hablar! 19:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Regarding this, you made a comment to which I replied. As it has now closed, I place my response here, to allow you to respond if you wish:
- I'm sorry, there was no dispute between LEAC and myself. You must be completely confused, Arky. He was being highly disruptive, I warned him, he ignored me, I blocked. There was no dispute at all, there was disruption and its consequences. The only "dispute" one might somehow painfully pull from that incident was whether one can harass good-faith editors with a barrage of personal attacks or not. My position was No, LEAC's was Yes. I submit to you that is not a dispute, that is willfully arguing one of our most basic rules for interaction with other users. KillerChihuahua?!? 13:56, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Mediation
HI, I answered you here:Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2007-08-31_David_Miscavige--Fahrenheit451 19:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Done. Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2007-08-31_David_Miscavige#Who_are_the_involved_parties.3F--Fahrenheit451 20:58, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Hello. I don't understand what this is about. A cabal means: 1. a small group of secret plotters, as against a government or person in authority. 2. the plots and schemes of such a group; intrigue. 3. a clique, as in artistic, literary, or theatrical circles. So is "mediation cabal" a misnomer for "cabal mediation"? Does being an "involved party" mean I'm considered as a plotter or one of the edit-warring editors? Because I looked at my contributions and I found only two, no edit warring from my part and no uncivilness. --Leocomix 21:31, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ha, no. On Wikipedia, a cabal is a jokingly used term for informal groups of editors. Thus, the Mediation Cabal is simply a group of editors that informally mediates disputes. Being involved in a cabal case does not mean that you've done anything wrong, just that your input in the discussion there would be helpful in determining a compromise between all involved parties. Cheers, Arky ¡Hablar! 21:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
I see. My only problem in this is that I noticed a pattern from the person adding my name, to involve people in his disputes. The fact that he named me for a mediation cabal about an article where I made two edits in July (there have been more than 100 edits since) only confirms my opinion. Additionally his front page shows he has been monitoring my page and my edits and is bringing attention to it (I appear in his Possibly useful links that he carefully selects to present himself as the victim of a cabal). My only wishes regarding this mediation are 1. that Fareheit451 stops involving me in his disputes 2. that he removes his Possibly Useful Links and similar covert actions. --Leocomix 22:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Once mediation commences, we will begin to work out such compromises. For the time being, let's wait and see who else agrees to be involved. I assure you that I will be as impartial as I can and work out a compromise that does not unequally favor any editor. Arky ¡Hablar! 22:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. Jmlk17 01:26, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- I apologize. However, the user was given a last warning recently [3], and has made 2 edits yesterday [4] [5] the latter of which was vandalism and patent nonsense, and the former of which was dismissed as nonsense as well [6] [7]. Also, the user has received 10 warnings, 3 of which were final or last warnings, and and 4 of which were level three warnings. In addition, the user was blocked [8] by Daniel Case (talk · contribs) on 15 July, a couple months ago. Cheers, ARkY // ¡HaBLaR! 01:43, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
