Re:VP
[edit]I check the VP approval list every couple hours and approve all the users on the list who meet the requirements. Apparently the mod tool wasn't clearing your name off the list after approving you. It's supposed to autogreet you and take your name automatically off the list when I give you the OK, but it has problems recognizing certain usernames (I really don't know the details on this).
I guess I saw your name each time I checked the list and approved you each time, and never even noticed that it was the same name! With the last approve, though, it seems to have actually put you on the encrypted userlist and taken your name off the waiting list, so there shouldn't be any more problems.
Sorry for the inconvenience --frothT C 02:00, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I have seen that you removed a bundle of wikilinks on the article above. Redlinks don't mean explicitly that links are broken, but generally that articles to them don't exist yet. You might wish to read Wikipedia:Redlinks concerning this. Greetings ~~ Phoe talk 18:12, 13 January 2007 (UTC) ~~

My Help Request
[edit]I need to find out what kind of bird this is.. Can anyone help me? Ard0 (Talk - Contribs) 21:33, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. Please use the reference desk for that. Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 21:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely a parrot (psittacine) of some kind. A quick scan of Google reveals a few types of yellow parrots (Amazons, apparently) but I didn't see any that exactly matched yours.
- Eureka! I e-mailed the Sea World and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. They said that they were golden conures. bibliomaniac15 02:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]You flatter me. bibliomaniac15 05:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
We can't allow fair use images in user pages
[edit]I had to remove the Windows Vista logo from your user page because it violated fair use images rule #9. If you have questions about why this is nessary, you can ask Durin on his talk page. Will (Talk - contribs) 03:56, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Furthermore, images like the "Homemade Vista Logo" you made are also copyright infringements, because they look too similar to the original they're imitating (it's the idea that's copyrighted, not a particular alignment of pixels). Therefore, you may not simply put a GFDL tag on it and pretend it's an original image. Please stop looking for loopholes and putting Wikipedia in risk of violating US copyright law. Thank you, Миша13 23:07, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ask a lawyer (or someone at WP:CP or WP:VPP) how far the line goes. But anything even resembling the logo is a possible copyright violation, including 4 straight rectangles, red, blue, green and yellow, aligned in a specific way. Миша13 10:43, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Microsoft-windows-xp-logo-greyscale.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Microsoft-windows-xp-logo-greyscale.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thanks for the image...
[edit]The image of the Golden Conure you took is now on the Main Page for February 2 for the "Did You Know" section. bibliomaniac15 18:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
